Sounded like we were the more likely team to score, I believe that was Newports only shot on target, but that's why we're where we are and they're where they are. Scoring goals is the key attribute that determines whether you win games.

Yes, two really good chances missed by Carlisle that I recall. A very good second half performance from your team but that lack of cutting edge was costly.

Lost key players, no assistant manager, budget cut, one of the youngest squads in the league inc a previously untried kid in goal and yet we're top. Wtf.

Fair play to FGR our win and performance in August looks even more impressive. Best footballing side in the league certainly but looked toothless and defensively suicidal, Seem to have found a formula now though.

It’s the 4th division it is every season!

But there are no stand out sides. When we were last here, it was us, Doncaster, Pompey and Luton to a degree.

This season there doesn’t seem to be that.

Still could be it’s still early days. I’d expect yourselves to improve, we’re improving every week, even Scunthorpe and Salford who is expect more from.

The Newport players love a gathering in front of the away fans to celebrate don't they.
Number 10 looks a right cock on the Quest show as was the ginger ninja against us.
As Quest says they just grind teams down.

After huge turnover in the summer we seem to be settling down now and have a reasonable run of fixtures in Morecambe (A), Crawley (H), Vale (H) and Macc(A). No gimmes, but certainly games you'd be looking for a good haul of points from if you're to go up. I'm hopeful by the end of October we'll be top 3, but who knows?!

Though no doubt we'll draw with Port Vale. That's all we ever do with them at home.

We like an away draw this season in fairness! 3 of the 5.

Yes the season of 16/17 that was where Plymouth went up along with Portsmouth, Doncaster and then Blackpool via the play offs and of course the others in the play offs that year were Exeter, Luton and Carlisle.

All the massive teams doing well back then, but now you look at this season so far and you see the likes of shitty little tinpot clubs such as Forest Green, Crewe, Newport and also Cheltenham all up there ffs.

It's as if the league table has been turned upside down all of a sudden.

To be fair to crewe they've played in the championship, wouldn't say they are out of place in league one.

Well their manager Artell would definitely be out of the place in League One with his playing style and character.

Biggest bellend in L2 currently.

Only 10 clubs in league 2 this season that haven’t played in non-league at some point. Must be a record.

It’s like the last days of Rome.

Depends how you mean by non league, the likes of Vale and Crewe had spells pre First World War and around their formation so most will have at some point.

It was even fewer last season as of the 6 teams that exited League 2, Lincoln Tranmere and Yeovil had all been in non league, and of the 6 who replaced them only 2 had (Orient and Salford).

I get he rubs opposition fans up the wrong way abit and can come across as a bellend. But what's wrong with his playing style?

Well when they grinning and doing hand gestures they'll be the first one crying when a player gets chinned.
I know it's a tiny dump but there are other areas they can celebrate.

David Artell is an absolute legend in these parts. He kindly helped Andy Sandell’s pass on to Christian Jolley in the Conference play off final against Wrexham, 1 nil and the rest is history.

Cheers Dave!

This is hilarious on many different levels. First of all, a quick check of the L2 discipline table tells me Carlisle are in the top 5 for most cards issued so far this season. So you lecturing any one else about their managers cheating is a bit daft.

2nd, claiming we are any worse than the majority of other teams is ridiculous. Every team dives and cheats a bit. No way are we worse than anyone else, including Carlisle.

3rd, you say him getting his team to cheat and dive would see him struggle in L1 or higher? As in, teams at that level don't cheat and dive?

This is craptastic take, well done.

Unlucky Carlisle but what a goal to win it!

Just seen it. Brilliant goal. I guess it’s payback for us doing similar to you in the last minute at our place last season.

Maybe you are right.

But he's still a twat, I mean just look at how hard he tries to make himself look intelligent and trendy by putting on those big black specs and wearing a suit he probably bought from Matalan in the sales.

He's a fraud.
