Decent bit of business today, one out one in with the one in being a simple upgrade on the one out. Of all the players who have been on the fringes, Penn was probably the one who was of least value to the squad as he was a long way short of Jones and Joyce and didn't really offer anything different whereas while Atkinson's future at Carlisle is far from certain he at least offers something different from other players in his position.

If we'd signed him this time last season I'd of been thrilled and rubbing it in people's faces on here, but now after hearing he's had a bad spell at Chesterfield I'm not that fussed to be honest.

Still, I think if he gets back to the way he was when at Bradford and prior then he could be a great signing for this level.

Oh and as for Hartlepool.......
