Know someone who’s played under Evans and they said half the time he was a lovely guy and half the right he was a right c***. I suppose most managers are like that though. He’s not one for developing players.

There’s a book written by a midfielder called Ben Smith who played for Crawley under Evans, it’s called Journeyman I think. Really interesting read.

Anyway it pretty much says the same thing too. Lifts the lid on SE and his changing room/training ground rants and bust ups etc. Sounds like a dick who has the ability to be super nice and win people over when he needs them to be with him.

It certainly has worked with many chairmen and most of the media. His behaviour in front of a TV camera or microphone is night and day with his behaviour on the sidelines.

Steve Evans is not only clinically obese and with vile sideline behaviour, but he is also clever, wily and persuasive. The smaller the club, the most influence he has over.... well everything. Prime example , Mansfield Town FC, he must of licked his lips when the wealthy husband and wife team approached him with promises of a big playing budget at a small club at the 4th tier of English football.

He basically had their pants down from the moment he spoke to them, and then when the money on offer was better elsewhere , he moved at the worse possible time for the club, owner, fans. Basically throwing away all the hard work, and wasting a very promising season. You shouldn’t laugh but it’s hard not to. He’s usually a successful stain on a football club’s history

If you sign Joner you will still need cover at fullback as he will be injured most of the season, bloody good player when fit mind.
Tutte can be effective but somewhat limited and Zeli looks superb some of the time and a waste of space the rest. All 3 can be really good when the mood takes them all lack consistency.
I would prefer we keep Tutte.

Never a starter for us (even in the Conference when we had Bradley Wood ahead of him until he was found out for being a silly boy). I think he'd be ok for bottom half League Two but if he's starting every week I'd be worried. That said, he never had much of a run of starts for us so who knows? Can't fault his attitude though, and was steady when he came in, except when we put
him on the left against Barrow two years ago last minute after Habergham was injured in the warm up, and he was torn to pieces.

Our chairman has suggested we have ruled out a move for Ricky Miller although agreed a loan from a league one club (probably Kanu then!)

We agreed a fee with a league two club for a striker but he didn't turn up today so we have cancelled that and are pursuing another target now. (Waters maybe?)

We are also chasing a non league hitman.

As GB says, he was steady enough in the NL without being stand-out. I thought he'd step up ok and be a decent back-up but he's miles off Neal Eardley (who admittedly is probably better than L2, so it's a double whammy), which is why he's probably moving on.

Had 10-15 starts at the beginning of the season whilst Habergham was injured as he was our only other full back (as he was for the rest of the season) but had a mare away at Luton in January having been out of the team for a while and I don't think he was seen again on the pitch bar a couple of minutes at Wembley, with Cowley opting for CB's in full back areas instead of him.

Writing's been on the wall for a while with this one. They'll be worse RB's out there this season, but he's really just an average back-up RB at FL level.

We'll get a small fee for him as well with him being U24.

We’ve signed Ben Hall on loan for the season from Brighton. Another excellent signing, was with us from January last year and, whilst largely covering for Brisley and Duffy, he never put a foot wrong when he played. Will push those two all the way and gives us the option to play three at the back.

I missed a lot of his performances last season due to personal commitments to worldwide travel and exploration. However, I returned to Meadow Lane to hear good things about him. When I did see him in action I was impressed .

That is great news as Jacob says that’s the Centre of Defence sorted. They all know each other’s game, and all good enough for top end L2.

We’re announcing our first signing at 6 along with our new home shirt reveal.

Looks like it’s Jermaine McGlashan

I’m a bit bombed at the moment, but I like the name - whoever he is.

Forest Green stockpiling goalkeepers for some strange reason.
Lewis Thomas 20 year old from Swansea on a 2 year deal.
Nothing like covering all bases but 3 seems a bit strange, although Michael Brown signed about 12 for us.

One's a loanee and this lad will probably play mainly reserves/youth so not too mad. Think they've all had previous dealings with our GK coach Pat Mountain and want to work with him.

I think so. Really need wingers the way Brown wants to play. Hopefully more additions to follow.

Wonder if McGlashan was on our list, a right winger is our top priority at the moment. He's been a bit inconsistent when I've seen him, but then most lower league wingers are. Wouldn't be surprised if we consider Ismail too.

Apparently the League One loan is the return of Louis Dodds. Was a great player for us for a long long time and great joker in the dressing room, if costing us little it isn't a bad deal for us.

We've enquired to Norwich about getting former midfielder Louis Thompson back on loan. Would be immense in league 2.

Cheers for that Tisdale. I don’t mind players going but when it’s your captain on a free due to a contract clause that Tisdale himself signed off, makes it really annoying.

Taylor now has a big hole in defence he has to fill as well as up front.

Moore-Taylor is excellent and will do well there. His only question mark is his fitness as he’s missed large chunks of the last two seasons.

What was the clause?

Good signing for MK.

JMT is a good defender. He's aggressive and good on the ball, but he's very slow and is probably only about 5ft10. If he was taller and faster he'd be playing at a higher level. You also can't rely on him as he's always likely to break down at least once a season for a significant period.

Think it is poor from him though. Youth product turned club captain. Offered wages which would have made him our highest earner in the squad but obviously decided his loyalty is with Tisdale as opposed to Exeter.

As someone mentioned on exeweb, he now probably holds the accolade of being the first youth product to move on and not be wished particularly well from supporters.

I don't think this reflects terribly well on JMT either.

Having the clause in there is one thing and seems to have been the only way that he'd have signed an extension in the first place. That said though, when the clause is that he can leave a L2 club if they don't get promoted and then he joins another L2 club, it just cries mercenary. No doubt MK Dons are a sleeping giant/too big to be in L2/whatever but the fact is that they are, for now at least, a L2 club and if going there is showing ambition or some other such cliche we might as well pack up and go home now.

No that I'm annoyed by this, you understand.

Initial ambition for anyone who is sane is to earn money, so say MK are doubling his wages (which you would expect they would be) its a no brainer for him personally.

Yes but I'm ignoring that glaring fact. It's just the manner in which it's happened that's not so easy to take.
