Hopefully this will be a decent game, Crewe are usually a decent footballing side so should be a good watch, their away record isn't great but neither is our home one so tough to call. Not likely to be wet this time so no need for Crewe to launch a take of the North Stand this time.

I'd love to see a home win, but would settle for a good performance regardless of result, just to re-assure me and the faithful to stay patient until Santa parachutes a couple of really bad ass mean buggers in ready for January. Hopefully pre-programmed to swing their boots goal wards instead of side ways.

I just hope to see a game reach its natural conclusion without the need for players to resort to dinghies, kayaks and inflatable unicorns to move around the pitch...as might have been the case if we had had a second half last Saturday. Weather forecast looks fine today, so my wishes should be met, other than that it would be a wonderful early Christmas present if our players could find the back of the net more than once.

Most of our home draws have come in games where we scored first...so I wouldn't bet on that outcome!
Joe Mills scores from distance. Our first shot on target. Bloody poor scrappy game. Two sides struggling to concentrate.

Mills our best player by a country mile.

Get in Joe.

Commentators were having a chuckle about a note Artell passed to Wintle who then handed it on to Ng, think must have been just after we changed formation a bit. Can't recall ever seeing actual note passed on field.

There was definitely a note passed among the players, one of them screwed it up and chucked it on the side of the pitch in front of where I sit...I reckoned we should have sent someone to pick it up and hand it to our coaching staff, just to see what the Crewe players had been told to do!

After a pretty poor first half Crewe were forced to change their tactics following our strike late at the end of the first half. A scrappy uneventful first half with very little threat on goal from either side. Our goal was deflected quite cruelly but Millsy hit it well enough and that what can happen when you try your luck.

Crewe were you suspect given the hair dryer treatment at half time. They came out and pressed for an equaliser and had chances, while our forwards fluffed any chance of sealing it.

Only four loses so far, we are a hard team to beat, but are being stretched beyond optimum effectiveness due to our poor conversion rate. Happy to be in and around the play-off places. A good place to be at Christmas.

Mark Cooper not happy with the support it seems - not enough atmosphere.

Isn't that the case for most grounds?

Ironically it was a pretty good atmosphere from the home fans today. I have heard far more quiet home fans at home grounds to be honest.

Cooper does not like us fans very much for getting at his beloved Son and booing him off after getting stupidly sent off!

Another reason is the main chanting stand is on a silent protest about unfair bans from the club.

As far as Cooper goes, pretty good manager, pretty horrible person.

How was it a pretty good atmosphere lol? Lets be honest, it was shit. As usual this season. Cooper's got a point, team deserves better. Bans aren't their fault. Board need to swallow their pride, bods likewise.

We make far more noise away.

No, it was not shit, I disagree, and your silent treatment in the South Stand is really only hurting our club and team.

However despite the silent protest, there was an area of the South Stand that sang and the Main Stand was actually really good. Yes, it is usually rubbish granted, but not yesterday.

How long are you lot in the middle of the South Stand going to keep this up? You do realise you are kissing off a lot of FGR supporters!

I actually totally agree that the bans were over the top too!! losing my respect rapidly though.

Agree with the above, it is getting to the stage where if you did a staw pole of Rovers fans you would probably find more people hoping that they and their Danny Dyer wannabee leader never return. The club is moving on, it is sad that not everyone seems up for the journey, but in the long term I am sure we will manage without them.

Chris you and Mark Cooper are living in the same world as me on this. You both understand old school mainstream football values on this subject. Your points here are spot on. However the mainstream of football is also subject to the sterile pc world we all now live and breathe everyday. Not good bedfellows I think. It is having an impact on football, Gloucestershire style anyway. There was singing yesterday, occasionally from the east stand but it is the FGR inert, devoid of any spirit verity that we are now left with. Perhaps the Crewe support can comment on what they though of our singing efforts, they have no axe to grind after all.

The mystery to me, having previously followed a team where there was a huge battle between fans and those managing the club, was that it normally turns to protest with fans getting more vocal...in our case they have gone out on strike!

They will probably profess to loving the club...regardless of who is in charge of it or picking the team...but in this case it is the players and their fellow fans who suffer.
