Bolton at home. Meh, freebie of a game, nice if we win, not arsed if we lose.

Leeds Away. Chuffed with that one!
Why are you chuffed with that draw? The crowd won't be 20k like they normally get be more like 7k and we will lose and most likely be heavily beat on like we were at Huddersfield last season. The only good thing is we won't be losing to a lower league club Carlisle I think it was and that Michael Brown and Danny Pugh go back to there former club.

I can't hardly contain my excitement for this draw.

Not sure if that is ironic or not?

I know last year we were drawn away to Derby and it brought a realism to fact that we were no longer a non league club and that we went straight into draws with other league teams.

Such a good feeling.
Sarcastic I think you mean.

It was never my favourite competition, just like the JPT, although we had a couple of good games away at Leicester (lost on pens) and Derby (lost in ET).

Bloody English lessons from an Imp. Bloody hell, I have reached an all time low

Preston at home for us - great tie and should be a good crowd on. Our run in this competition was one of the highlights of our season - beating Bradford and Burnley and running West Ham close.

They beat us in the JPT live on Sky a couple years ago which was embarrassing for us considering we were in L1 and they were L2.

Not too much else to say about it really.

I went to that game. Wednesday night and hammered it down with rain. Fleetwood dominated but they were going through a spell of good football at that point on their way up to League One. Your fans were class though on the terrace.

MK Dons at home is definitely winnable. Fancy a crack at this comp, Bradford and Wycombe have shown it is possible for league 2 clubs to go a long way.
I think you'll find L2 is a lot more difficult than what your club and chairman especially is expecting.

If ANY League 2 team gets past R2 they're doing well, because its extremely difficult with the seeding structure. You'd need to beat a top end Championship club at a minimum (if not 2).

Thanks! We do have a good away following even when things are going bad. :bg:

By the way do I know you from somewhere? :pond:

Also why would a Vale fan go to a JPT match that didn't involve Vale and was also live on TV? Or are Carlisle United your second favourite club?

Can they not both lose? And then give us a bye in R2!?
We're not allowed to go past the 1st round [correction - the 1st round we play in, including "eliminator playoffs"] it's competition rules...

Er, got us down to finish 16th in Son of Cod's prediction thread.

And anyway, given I've been supporting my side since I was a kid and have mainly seen relegation scraps in the conference and financial struggles in that time, why the fuck shouldn't I be enjoying the fact that we're actually in the EFL and be a little bit bullish about our first season up after seeing us lift a trophy for the first time in nearly 20 fucking years?

Millwall away for us. Been to Millwall twice, on both occasions the away side has gone home with a 2-1 win, hopefully history will repeat itself for a third time.

Decent pull for Away fans to go to, even if only 7k there it would be more than a share of the 3k at Carlisle and we lose no one cares if we win it's a big result.

After losing to Carlisle so pathetically last season at least if we get beat this year it won't be a bad defeat.

Away to wolves, a team we have somehow never played in our history.

2-1 flattered Vale that night, most thought at the time you'd be down the bottom. We played some great stuff in the first half of the season.

Because fancying a run in the League Cup is particularly difficult for a League 2 side. You can't get easy draws into the latter stages.

Pretty standard Away day last season that. At home we were ok but away we took a few pastings as we just set up wrong. We finally found the Away day solution... in the last two away games when we needed 6 points to stay up and valiantly got 4 but to little to late!

Thanks! We do have a good away following even when things are going bad. :bg:

By the way do I know you from somewhere? :pond:

Also why would a Vale fan go to a JPT match that didn't involve Vale and was also live on TV? Or are Carlisle United your second favourite club?

I don't think you do unless you've seen me on social media.

It happened to be a night where both me and my partner were off work, and it wasn't a million miles away and thought we'd have a trip up.

Ipswich at home is a half decent and winnable tie. We seem to do well against championship teams in cup competitions.

Hello Carver.

It's good to see you out of those chains.

Hi Greg, I missed ya man!

So we made the play offs after all and we gave it a go too, so much for us ending up in mid-table as you predicted, turns out you're not so wise. :eek:bama:

Happy with this draw, don't think we've played each other competitively since 1893!

What sort of allocation will we get?

We scraped in by the skins of our teeth and finished a few points above mid table.

I was a lot closer with my prediction than you were harping on about automatic promotion despite our form.
