I might be biased but I also think we have the best keeper in League 2 as well, which may be crucial. One thing is for sure, I will not be having a punt on Thursday, it's too close to call

I agree on your keeper, looked absolutely quality despite not being the tallest claimed everything in the air which a lot keepers at this level don’t. I think you’ll struggle to keep hold of him.

Even Skybet have us both on the same odds for the game Thursday night

Don't mind us being called direct at all , we have two forwards who are 6 4+ and several defenders over 6 foot tall but what I do mind like plumbob is other teams especially their managers saying they aren't when clearly they are.

You are long ball, not direct.
This has already been well covered David, and it’s been a very successful approach for the Imps

Cause non-league is a part of the BT Network. It was always going to be on Saturday at 3pm regardless of whether a P/O was on Sky.

True enough, but IIRC I watched last year's L2 play offs and the Conf PO Final - and the year before that too - so the matches can't have been on at the same time.

Yeah, ours was the Sunday after the cup final - why have they stopped doing that now?

Yeah exactly, we were able to watch the other play offs as well. I know my memory's shit* when it comes down to football but I sure can recall our game was played on a Sunday.

*when compared to some others. Some people simply astound me with their recollections of league games from 15-20 years ago. And I'm not referring to pivotal matches or anything but meaningless midtable clashes :dk:

Definitely would have taken a draw before the game, so pretty happy. Expect it to be very tight again on Thursday, I honestly don't think there is much between the 2 sides, they are both decent for this level, albeit different playing styles. Harley has not played much of late, but when he is on form he is fantastic, and so it proved today. Lot's will talk about Stockley, or Rhead for the Imps, but Harley was quality today, and with him and Boateng playing together in midfield we can be a real force. Shame it hasn't happened much this season. I might be biased but I also think we have the best keeper in League 2 as well, which may be crucial. Was Harley number 7?

I couldn't work Boateng out. He looked a decent player, probably the second best player on the pitch behind Harley, but I couldn't work out whether he was strolling around a bit because he found it all too easy, whether that is just how he is or whether he was knackered.

Boateng has an usual running style whereby his feet barely leave the ground and it makes it look like he's not really moving very quickly when he actually is. When he's dribbling it also looks like he's never quite in control of the ball. It usually works though so I guess he probably is.

Good luck to both sides. Personally I want Exeter to make the final as I reckon they play footy the right way*, but may be the best side on the day go through.

*this is in no way a dig at the Imps. I'm a U's fan after all and we're not exactly a tiki taka footy side either.

Cannot recall what number he wore Luke, but the ginger hair is the give-away. As for Boateng, that is just his style. Unusual but pretty effective most of the time

Got hijacked by Carver's wee Ego.

Play offs was his dream this year so think he had to have a litte peak on the thread.

Very bad sportsmanship shown on the play-off threads in both the League 1 and 2 forums, and virtually none of it from fans of the losing sides.

Is it too much to expect grown people to discuss football matches like adults? I thought this forum was better than that.

He has a problem with any team who has never been in the Prem, despite supporting a League Two club.

Lincoln fans very humble as always.

Totally agree LondonOrn. Some of the behaviour on here is frankly ludicrous at times. So childish as you well say.

Luckily there's still a few of us level headed folk on here to keep the forum ticking along at an adult level.

Yep. I think most of the sides we follow (bar Oldham ;) ) have made the play offs at one time or other so we all know what it means to be on the losing side, and some of last nights comments were wholly unnecessary and OTT. I'm all for #bantz but not when people overstep the mark.

If you're a neutral watching the game, then just share your thoughts on the match itself and congratulate the winners.

ps - Congrats to Exeter, clearly the better side on the day. As for the Imps, making the play offs so soon after coming back is a great achievement and their fans should all look forward to having another go next season.

Not a big fan of Lincoln's style, but it gets results tbf.

We are a tiki taka side, but for some reason we always seem to lose to Lincoln, the hoofballing fuckers. In fact we lose against all physical teams. In fact we lose against all teams full stop. :ffs:

Up until last year we barely grabbed a point off you.

Not sure why the other thread has been locked so I'll post in here.

Thought we were good value for the win last night. Harley continued to prove he's a big game player with another superb performance while Boateng ran the show in midfield. A great couple of goals from them as well. JMT dealt with Rhead superbly over the 2 legs and he's right in what he's said: A couple of years ago this side would roll over against the more physical types of teams but over the past 2 seasons the players have shown the fight they have and are willing to give as good as they get.

I've always admired what the Cowley brothers have done from afar and Danny's post match interview was classy, unfortunately that was the only bit of class he showed in the whole tie. The attempts at mind games and kidology in the media build up came across as very desperate. He and his coaching staffs actions on the touchline was embarrassing and enough to put the Evans and Raynor show to the shame. They really do appeal for absolutely everything.

Also, hope whichever fan assaulted the kit man is sufficiently dealt with by the appropriate authorities. A really scummy thing to do.

It feels great to be going back to Wembley again. Really hope we can finish the job this time. Tisdale is a genius and I can't understand anyone's reasons for wanting him out. I hope, if it is the end, he can go out on the highest of highs.

Yeah assaulting the old guy is out of order and the guy who did it needs dealing with, this Exeter fan here however needs dealing with in a different way, but buying him a pint or two for doing this:

Personally, if I were Cowley I would have let the big man go. Whatever your feelings about Rhead, worse are imbeciles that think they can taunt footballers without fear of retaliation. The kid wouldn't have the balls to do it in the street or a pub.
Rhead beating him to a bloody pulp (eating him if that tickles anyones Rhead is fat funny bone) might just learn that little weasel a valuable life lesson.

Too many childish mostly anti-Lincoln comments celebrating their loss and belittling their recent achievement and refusing to give any credit to an amazing turnaround by Danny Cowley and co at a club that for many years that looked to be going nowhere except down again. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that given that Paul Tisdale's been at your club far longer and Lincoln were in a far bigger mess when Cowley took over than Exeter were when Tisdale joined, of course Exeter are going to play the more cultured football under a manager who's had time to try out different things in three different divisions.

If I were one of the mods I would've deleted the more offending posts and stuck in a warning, but I don't blame them for thinking "fuck this" and just putting a padlock on last night's nonsense.

It feels great to be going back to Wembley again. Really hope we can finish the job this time. Tisdale is a genius and I can't understand anyone's reasons for wanting him out.

Not even after this game?

In fairness, much credit to the board for their immense faith and patience and not hitting the panic button when the team hit a rocky patch, a rare commodity in the heavily money-oriented current world of football with its rapid-fire hirings and firings. If Swansea (to name but one of countless examples) had shown similar virtues they likely wouldn't be relegated, or at least back in the Premier League in a more stable state than they are now.

But Rhead would have no chance in a fist fight because as soon as the other guy lays a finger on him Rhead would be down on the floor holding his face.

Of course he would, I keep forgetting that life mirrors what happens on a football field.

Yup, because there's definitely a ref there in a fist fight to give you a freebie if you go down like a sack of shit.

To be fair to Danny, he was asked a question about Tisdales future and so answered it wasn’t like he brought it up himself.
