Felt for Macclesfield today. Not a great match and the keeper never had a save to make. I thought we just about deserved it but only because Stead should have been awarded a penalty earlier.
The difference today was budget, we had some expensive earners who made the difference, Macc worked hard but just didn't have a Boudwijn or a Stead on the pitch.
Looks like being a long hard season for Macclesfield hopefully you're not adrift at Christmas and the transfer window gives a boost.

The error from Kelleher that resulted in the penalty was what decided the game. Plus Yates's decision to bring off Blissett and Arthur basically removed any chance of us ever scoring. Otherwise it was very even and a 0-0 would have been fair.

Lol. Conks you don’t need to tell me or any Notts fan that, the barometer of shitness for a lot of Notts fans.

We are fragile, average and play Mansfield or anyone decent and we will lose. But it’s 5 unbeaten , 3 wins on the bounce and it wasn’t long ago we double our points tally as Adam worked and kindly pointed out

1 + 1 = 2, now 12

In this current state of ineptitude I’d actually bet on us beating Mansfield, it’s the times we “think” we’re good when we lose to them

LEP - I understand the theory mate but we never beat the Stags ! Plain and simple, never! I predict a 3-1 away defeat as once again they raise their game for the Nottinghamshire derby and we turn to mush.

At least that should help keep Flitcroft in the job for a while longer

The Twitter football experts were out in force yesterday when CB Brisley was named in midfield (represents a bit of a fall in grace for David Vaughan too, that!), but how did he get on? Am I right in thinking he’s a left-footer? If so at least it kept some balance, and provided height for set pieces at both ends - some of the sides we were sending out earlier in the season must have been among the shortest ever.

Looking at the highlights today and it's questionable whether there was actually any contact on Boldewijn for the penalty. I'm not going to bash the ref for it because it looked like a clear pen in real time but there's not much difference between that and our own penalty appeal against Forest Green.

Not that we deserve any luck given the way we're playing at the moment....

It was a ridiculously needless penalty, from absolutely nothing. Awful pass followed by tremendous effort and the pace and speed of thought difference between the two players involved was vast

I thought at the time and after seeing it again that Boldewijn bought it, although the keeper gives him that option by diving in. I wouldn’t have had any real complaints if it went the other way, but I did think that there was a stonewall penalty on Stead not long before so it evened out somewhat.
