We could get a draw if we start hendo, matip, and coutinho but if they are bench we are gonna be smashed. Henderson is especially important considering Can has been shit past few games. United are on a good run and Mourinho seems to be getting his mojo back.

Oh, and apparently we are playing in our toxic green kit. "Three times Liverpool have lost this season. And on each occasion, they were wearing the toxic green kit. Burnley Bournemouth Southampton." RIP

We could be 5th by end of the gameweek.

Hendo will start, Matip won't. If thats the case I think we could easily get something anyway. Predicting 1 - 1.

You live in Liverpool but you've failed to grasp the Liverpool/Manchester rivalry? If yes, amazing. If no, then I'm sure you can connect the dots and realize why the United/Liverpool rivalry came to be. Otherwise it's a short google search away.

The only person who has bothered to explain it reverts to Rourke's drift and the Mancs letting down the Scouse soldiers. Other than that I don't see how it's such a big thing. I can understand a connection in that at one stage they were the two clubs vying for the title for a period of time, but that also can be said of other clubs and hasn't happened for a very long time. So, no I just don't get it and this over hyped 'Manchester v Merseyside' Sky promotion just doesn't make sense. They're no more relevant than any other two cities. Surely Liverpool's big rivals are Everton and Man Utd's are Man City?! I'm not saying they're not big games in their own right, as would be the likes of Chelsea, Spurs etc rocking into town as they are in there with a title challenge. Just don't get them being over hyped, when it's just the two sets of fans who think it's bigger than it is. I know fans of several other Premier League clubs and they are equally bemused by it.

It's a football rivalry built on a rivalry between the two regional powerhouses of industry. There has always been massive animosity between the two cities with each one considering themselves the superior in industry, learning, culture etc. This manifests itself in stereotypes so Scousers consider Mancs dour, charmless dolts that fancy themselves too much. Mancs considers scousers feckless, lazy fools.
The two cities are very different culturally, politically and ( historically) economically. They compete at everything so it's not that strange that consider each other as their fiercest rival on a football pitch.
Stuart maconie covers it far better than I can in his book Pies and Prejudice.http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/765768.Pies_and_Prejudice
It's also covered in Paul Morley's opus The North. https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/Books/North-Almost-Everything-Paul-Morley/0747578168

Doesn't explain why a Man City/Everton rivalry isn't equally toxic if it's all about the cities though.

I suppose it's down to united and Liverpool traditionally being the most successful side in their city. There has probably been more on United - Liverpool matches in the past than the matches between the other clubs. Also I think it's fair to say that fans of United and Liverpool have traditionally been more bullish ( obnoxious) about their achievements in the past. Everton- United used to get a bit "nawty" in past so I'm told. :dk:

Well I'm shitting bricks. I'd take an undeserved draw off an undeserved penalty in the 97th.

That's exactly what I hoped for minus Darmian, if Liverpool are to get any joy at all it will come from his area of the pitch.

I'm still going for a United win.

Matip withdrawn because of this international stooshie ffs! Disappointed Coutinho isn't starting but good seeing TAA in for Clyne. Looking less and less likely a win is coming now.
