So his Eastleigh record thus far (inc cups):-

P12 W2 D4 L6 F13 A22 17% win rate.

Sackable stats for most clubs, but we'll stick with him, as sacking another manager would be very embarrassing. We are all betting that he calls it a day soon, claiming heart & stress issues, but will then instantly get a job elsewhere (Barnet probably).
I really want it to work out for him at Eastleigh, but his stats so far are poor and the style of football is appalling. The players he has brought in are not up to it & are worse than those who have departed during his reign.

From the outside, it just seems that he's sold anyone of any worth, got rid of as many higher earners as possible and has asked the Chairman to put anything saved and raised in the budget for next season and have a good go.

Can't really blame him for that because the season was flagging before he even arrived and although I don't think results are that of a true Allen side, it just doesn't reflect well on him at the minute.

I can understand his playing style being poor, but at Barnet he had Akinde. At Eastleigh he has Constable and did have Mandron.

Give him time. He will get you in the play offs for sure next season. Luke sums it up well what he is doing.

At Eastleigh he has Constable and did have Mandron.

Are you saying Constable is still good? He effectively retired when he left Oxford. Haven't seen him play well since. I think I saw on the Eastleigh forum that he's only scored four or five goals this season.

Constable is definitely not still good from what I've seen.

Allen wont be sacked after 12 games. Wouldn't be surprised if he walks at some point for health reasons, but I can't see him going back to Barnet this time. Probably retire.

I'm not buying all this "let's save money for next season" crap, most of the players that he has let go have been fully paid up, so there are no savings anyway.
Our owner has £100s of million's, so saving 30k here and there really wouldnt interest him anyway.
When MA came in, he stated we could still win the league, i'd settle for him just winning a game, but its not happening & we now have players that he has brought in who don't look anywhere near good enough.
Yes next season may be different, if he lasts until then, but fan unrest since the new year with a chunk of games to go this season, with a team that just doesnt look interested & with the club stating that they have practically written off this season and going for it next season (again....), really doesnt fill the fans with any enthusiasm to turn up to the remaining games. With most players either knowing they wont be here next season, or the chosen few on so much money they just couldn't care less, its easy to see how lapse its all become under MA's leadership. To be fair to him, he says all the right things and does try and gee the players up, but you have to wonder if they can all see the writing on the wall, and are probably all playing badly to get paid up and told to F Off....3 yr deals for the likes of Reda Johnson, who plays 1 game in 6 if we are lucky!
Its got so bad that ST holders are voicing they will not renew if the style is going to be like this under MA. So it wont be long before our owner gets twitchy again...either than or MA starts clutching his chest and walks away with a massive pay off. Who next i wonder....

Constable is not good enough for this level, well not a team who should be in the top 5 anyway, but he's the owners favourite, so gets deals every year, despite scoring less and less every season.

If your owner has £100's of millions and wants to spunk loads more on football, why not go and make the Cowley's an offer they can't refuse? Having the right manager, whatever the cost, is a lot more important then signing highly paid players.

It's like Arsenal and Arsene Wenger. You can't expect Eastleigh fans to accept this level of mediocrity. They are a massive club in terms of both this league and globally. If they aren't Top of the league the fans are going to start asking questions.

Better then settling for mediocrity and always saying "next years our year" though tbf.

The problem runs deeper than Allen, though.

Your transfer strategy for a start, was highlighted as being flawed ages ago. You sign the wrong players on the wrong money. Previous managers have generally gone for names from leagues above on silly money.

You can't just buy the league. You have to build sensibly with a smart recruitment strategy and then have some continuity. Until you do, this cycle will keep repeating and you'll get nowhere.

Find a manager you have real belief in, and then give him time. Time being at least 2 seasons. 12 games is not enough.

What I don't understand your owner has all this money and you seem to be letting all your best players leave -- Does'nt add up. By the way Joe seems ok for the Third div.

Like a smaller version of Forest Green?

We are/were in the same boat. While Steve Brown failed to utilise the money available to him and just raided old club Dover, Jamie Day came in and just signed a load of players from higher division clubs and took us from 4th and in the play offs, to about 8th I think. Pretty sure Danny Kedwell (who has been fantastic) and Stuart Lewis (on loan at Maidstone) are the only two left. You could say Sean Shields (very good player for us, when actually given the game time) too, but he was signed a day before Day was sacked so not sure if that was his doing.

Obviously Andy Drury is costing a fair bit, but most of McMahon's other signings are hardly costing top dollar. It's just a shame it's taken him the best part of two years to actually get the best out of the side.

Not Allen types. He's looking for heroes and doesn't trust these flashy players.

If it wasn't for our owner and some of our players stepping in, Allen would've released Vilhete and Luisma before our conference winning season. In the end we wouldn't have crossed the line without them.

Good. Mandron is playing in the Championship, though, while Akinde is scoring penalties in League Two.

Has Mandron actually played any league matches for Wigan Athletic though?

HEROES.

Sounds like something Brendan Rodgers might say.

But you wouldn't have had Sam "WEAPON" Muggleton or Shaun "BAMBI ON ICE" Batt, so give him some credit mate.

It's sad but true.
And if Allens little soldiers do well they get rewarded with haribo.

I'm not knocking Allen, he is capable of getting players running through walls for the cause. It saved us from relegation twice, put some steel into Davids tika taka football and he signed Akinde for us. Problem is over time he drums the passing game out of a side completely.

My own feeling is he had time while unemployed to identify players he wanted so his first transfer window was good, everything since has been journeyman at best (Pearson and Dembele are decent if we could get them fit for more than 5 min). Loan signings were almost always dreadful and it is hard to forgive the failure to use Jack Taylor from our Dev squad or to give Vilhete a proper run in the side.
