I don't see us winning any of the next 4 games (we might draw 2 of them), and that will have us dangerously looking over our shoulders at the relegation spots. Craig McAllister signed last night, another ex player and 36 yr old striker, who has barely featured for Sutton this season, so wont be match fit. I love Macca, but we really are clutching at straws with new signings every week, whilst all the time, our best players are departing the club & MA stating he doesnt know where its going wrong?.....Joe Partington, Luke Coulson, Mikael Mandron & Jai Reason all out, 36 Yr old Darius Henderson, 36 yr old Macca coming in and a bloke who we bring on as a 70th min sub to launch 60 yard throw ins from the half way line......thats where its going wrong mate.

There must be a reason why you're not signing any promising young loan players - either can't or won't. We've benefited from some great players from Forest, and brought in some really well-regarded kids from Blackburn and Wigan this week, and surely that's a better (even cheaper) option than journeymen hoping for a casual run out? Or do no other managers like doing business with Allen?

Like a smaller version of Forest Green?

Much worse then us I'd say. Their budget this season, partly down to the amount of managers and revolving door of players, must be a fair bit bigger then ours and they're in the bottom half. At least our spending has seen us up there challenging for the title in the past couple of seasons.

The make up of our squad is also different to theirs, it's mainly full of younger players we're trying to develop and improve, along with a few loan signings and only 3 players over 30.

If your owner has £100's of millions and wants to spunk loads more on football, why not go and make the Cowley's an offer they can't refuse? Having the right manager, whatever the cost, is a lot more important then signing highly paid players.

Take note, Dale Vince.

That wasn't your strategy at the start though was it? ;) you've learnt your lesson, and this is probably your best chance of going up IMO.

I agree with your previous post 100% though. A manager with experience (of winning) is vital. That's where we went wrong, and potentially could still go wrong.

Allen has apparently been sacked.

Well that turned out well, didn't it? How long until he ends up back at Barnet?

Flippantly, he'll have to wait a while as we have just appointed a new manager.
Seriously, I think that was the final time for him as our manager. Leaving us to join Brentford and Notts County was one thing but leaving us to join a club like Eastleigh is another. Additionally, the word is that our chairman wasn't impressed with the quality of Allen's playing purchases for us in the close season and his reluctance to blood our youth team players.

Yeah, from the outside looking in, it seems like one time too many.

Eastleigh need to properly live the dream and appoint Steve King next.

How much money have Eastleigh wasted this season? Barnet must be pissing themselves.

Seen King at a couple of our games this season, including outside the boardroom. That was around the time Coops was favourite for the MK Dons job. Can imagine him being a strong candidate (if he's still interested/Eastleigh don't appoint him) if things don't work out for Coops here.

If the alarm bells weren't ringing when he said that he went to Eastleigh for more money, then they should have been. Smacked of someone looking to feather a nest and when it didn't go right from the outset I doubt he had the stomach for it.

If Allen was behind the squad reshaping then the chairman needs to take a good hard look at himself as he's decimate a decent squad and brought in players like Muggleton who isn't good enough and Hoyte who's never fit enough. In addition to taking a bath on the N'Gala holiday in Eastleigh.

What does this mean for the weapon?

I'd be very surprised to see Allen go back to Barnet at any time in the future. Very surprised. Mind you I said that last time.

Stewart Donald was apparently talking about the next Eastleigh manager as soon as he appointed Martin Allen – amazing and METICULOUS.

I doubt it. Why would they? Just appointed Nooge and actually look to play some sort of football. Plus players like Vilhete and a kid i really like (their mumber 18) that Allen seemed to really kinda not rate are showing that his player assessment was kind of wrong.

This means we must be playing Eastleigh on Saturday then. All they ever do is sack their manager right before playing us and put Chris Todd in charge.

Allen will be back at Barnet within days, it's all he ever does.

No he won't.
What Look Out There are Llamas said is accurate. Allen's assessment of Vilhete and Jack Taylor among others were woefully inaccurate.

Forgot about Jack Taylor also. Only seen him the once but that kid is going to go far, and more importantly make Barnet decent money.

rudebwoyben it seems to me from the outside Barnet started spending decent money / making interesting signings as soon as Allen left. What's the story behind that, did TK not fancy Allen with money, did Allen have money? It just seems weird Barnet are paying £100k for Santos the second Allen has gone, more than that for Coulson, especially as he left over the financial services.
