It was around 50, no where near 3/400! No idea where that figure is coming from

A fair result I thought. From the highlights it certainly looks like Taylor is offside for the first one. It's difficult to tell from the camera angle on the second but the clues are in the reaction from our defence, in that they all stopped and also Taylor briefly looking up to see whether he is offside. As for what happened with your fans that weren't allowed in, there were 50 not a couple of hundred. Those that weren't let in were also, apparently, your troublesome lot so it was perhaps a good thing they didn't gain access to the ground. Hats off to your travelling 1800 though. No trouble inside the ground that I am aware of and made a good noise at times without a roof.

The Woking defender knocked it on for the first goal - hence he's onside. Looks like he's played on by a defender for the second as well - albeit as you say the camera angle doesn't help. Don't think we did enough to win yesterday anyway, we were quite poor at times.

God knows how they could be identified as a 'troublesome lot', but if they were frustrated I'm not surprised having travelled from Bristol or even further. Something could have been done to accommodate them, although I suspect Surrey police had a lot to do with it - a really unnecessary amount of police yesterday, randomly searching people etc. which I've only ever seen in the Conference strangely.

Welcome Gashead, nice to see you're still about.
I gather your fans had some bother today getting in? Bit of a balls up by all accounts. Great support to be fair. You need to get out of this tinpot league WTGR, waay too big to be down here!

Huge balls up really. Meh, the 'way too big to be here' comments simply aren't true, but hopefully we'll give it a good go this season of going up first time. Don't think we'll beat Barnet to the title but you never know, for me its about consolidating our place in the play-offs and finishing the season strongly.

I made it!

Said on the old TFF before the Barnet game, I bet Barnet drop points and then we end up dropping points. Should have put money on it.

Wouldn't have been disappointed with a draw before the game, but when Barnet lose and you have a chance of really slashing the gap, you can't help but feel a bit disappointed. We aren't going to get many opportunities so we have to take them when we get the chance and I worry that will haunt us at the end of the season.

I thought we shaded the first half and I thought Woking shaded the second half. They're a good team, though, and I thought they defended well. We, as always, looked pretty good at the back, but unfortunately we really, really miss Sinclair when he doesn't play in midfield. He's our driving force and we don't look the same when Clarke, or latterly Lockyer, play.

As for the disallowed goals, I believe Taylor was in an offside position for both of them. I think the first should count, though, as it looked at the time that the Woking defender played the ball back. Watching the highlights I think the same. That being said, did we deserve to win the game? I'm not so sure.

Shame about the fans locked out. I was told 200 but that's just word of mouth stuff. It's only really our club's fault though - should have taken the ticket option. Seemed like it could have been easily avoidable but understand that Woking's ground has certain rules.

Easter looked okay when he came on, didn't get any chances at goal but did work a nice opportunity for Taylor. You can tell he has a football league touch and movement, lets see if he can convert chances when he gets them. Did say that he wouldn't come in and immediately start but would like to see him upfront with Taylor in the next game.

Play like he did yesterday on a consistent level then this Ollie Palmer lad might actually help me get over my love affair with Andy Cook. He looked a spitting image of him; good in the air, good with the ball at his feet, good positioning, good finishing. He even made John-Lewis look like a baller.

It was one game and it was a good win, proves that we're actually not that bad if we bother to turn up. With another solid signing or two we can easily catch Barnet with 2 games in hand and both them and Rovers still to play again. But I guess yesterday wasn't the hard game. The hard game will be Nuneaton next week.

Nuneaton won't be a hard game, trust me. They're useless.

Wait until he goes into Headless Chicken Mode.

As others have said we were pretty poor yesterday. Never got going at all in an attacking sense; we missed Sinclair massively. The fact Ollie Clarke and then Tom Lockyer were his replacements in the middle were a large part of the reason we offered little in terms of putting pressure on the Woking defence. Gosling deserved a place in the team previously but was not at the races yesterday and that meant we had little width because Monkhouse on the other side isn't one to beat a man and whip a cross in.

Having said that, Matty Taylor was onside with the first half effort because, as has been pointed out, the defender put the ball into his path. Thought it was questionable at the time but didn't dwell on it too much, however, having seen the highlights it's so clear that I am shocked the ref didn't spot it. Well, I say shocked... it's standard officiating at this level as we all know!

Edit: By the way, there were plenty more than that locked out at the start of the game. The photo was taken after a considerable amount of the first half had passed, by which point a lot of the crowd had dispersed and gone home.

Good to see Palmer make a good start.

If you read our forum, it's clear half our fans detest him, but he's never been played in the right system here and once you know the fans are on at your every single move then you are going to be low on confidence. A Great strike yesterday which he took really well and his header for the 3rd goal was good aswell. I'm hoping he comes good and makes the step up in L2

The most positive thing was how well he linked up with John-Lewis, they seemed to click instantly, making runs off each other and finding each other with crosses. LJL has always been a decent target man but hasn't had anybody to compliment his play yet. Palmer looked the part. Hoping they can both keep it up as our attacking threat for the majority of the season has been lacklustre to say the least.

Got to agree with all of that. The partnership looked destructive - I missed the build up and didn't realise it was Palmer's first game until late on.

Palmer really did look good, he had a few wayward shots but when you create that many opportunities who really cares.

I cant remember a worse performance. That was truly dire.

The signings we have made this year. But we are still utterly shite.

4 straight home losses, I could write a book about how it is going wrong but it's obvious - hard to rectify considering our financial position. Two inexperienced centre-halves dont help and when you have the gaffer starting no strikers up top, although we are quite rich in terms of quantity, it doesn't breed a lot of confidence, which is already clear to see is scarce within the squad at the moment. God forbid when Johnson leaves, can't see where any goals will come from.

Grimsby were excellent and ran us ragged. Palmer outstanding and took his goal superbly.

They had to win to keep up any chance of catching us imo and if they can now string a decent number of wins together, they could well be back in contention. Same as Macc.

We were just beaten by a better team on the day. They worked harder, were quicker to every loose ball, played better football and could easily have added a couple more but for some excellent goalkeeping. It was a poor performance from us, especially after going in front but lots of credit to Grimsby for not letting us settle and barring a little rally either side of half time, we were never in the game.

I think the big test for us is next week at home to Southport. Our league position has not been achieved by us being a fantastic side, capable of turning the better sides over. It has been built on relentless victories over the also-rans of the bottom half. If we can continue that form, we will be 8 points clear with a nice little GD buffer on Saturday night.

That said, if we don't beat Southport, our position at the top will be looking incredibly insecure and you'd have to feel the title momentum may well have shifted.

Palmer looks a bit like Andy Carroll. He played like him against us as well.

Only saw today that the forum had moved. Thanks for the post on shotsweb Slaphead!

On Saturday, we were by far the better team until they scored a 35 yard screamer. After that we gave them 2 very soft goals and gave up. For 30 minutes we played well but the rest of the game was not good enough!

I've just seen the highlights.

Obviously can't argue with the opener, that's a hell of a strike. Second is a bad header back.

You seemed to have a couple of decent chances, but your set pieces weren't particularly threatening, which must have been disappointing given that you lot had 12 or so in the opening 30 minutes. Ironic that Scott always mentions our only threat coming from set pieces yet he used them to try and justify what he felt was a good performance (sounds as though it was for half an hour).

In the end, we could and probably should have had more. Robinson hit the post, Power and Robinson again all had decent chances.

Rovers just released a statement with agreement from Woking that BR did NOT refuse a request for away fans to be ticketed.

Essentially it was just a cock up and underestimation from Woking.

Great result for the blues on Saturday, perfect coming home present.

Then couldn't get on TFF and thought the world was ending!

Good work to all who have helped get this place set up so quickly.

Dominated the game on Saturday. Don't think Wrexham could have complained if we'd scored 6 or 7. Poku hit the bar, Smith went close a few times. The first half stats of the game will be worrying for them, although that's the best performance we've ever put in, in the Conference. If SK manages to pull off the great escape well, I'll shit in my hands.

While you did come back at a great time it seemingly wouldn't matter where you are in the world when it comes to seeing Fairhurst's goal!
