Still a long way to go yet.

A few weeks ago Bristol Rovers had the wind in their sails. A couple of draws later, and injuries to Sinclair and the recently arrived and much heralded Easter, and things don't look quite so rosy.

Grimsby going to Dover and winning will be a real signal of intent. They have some really ugly looking fixtures coming up, but that gives them the chance to take matters into their own hands.

Not discounting Macc either, but they'll need to address their poor away form.

You beat Alfreton to record your first win in the last 9 games. Calm down.

But we're 6th? Something must be wrong. THE LEAGUE IS AWFUL THIS SEASON WAH WAH.

Looking at the fixtures I just can't see Barnet failing to win many of their remaining games. Even if we beat them and close the gap, we need to keep up with a harder run in. It would be a disaster if Barnet didn't win it from here tbh.

For the first time in three seasons though I actually feel confident we can win a play-off game. Maybe next season we'll win two.

Our away form is much better now than it was at the start of December. We've won four of our last five away games.

Woking go to Barnet next week, if they play like they did second half today, they will turn Barnet over. Seen Woking four times this year now and Barnet twice and IMHO, Woking on their day are the better side.

Absolutely mental that we could go 5th on Tuesday if we beat Alfreton.

Problem is, we've gone from 4 adrift with 2 games in hand to 2 points off having played a game or two more.

Given our away form, this time next week could see us quite adrift!

Eh? Not sure I follow.

I get that from your observations that Woking have played better than we have when you've watched both teams, but how does that tally with the "Woking on their day are the better side." You seem to be implying that Woking and Barnet have both been at the top of their form when you've seen them. Are you seriously saying that a side 16 points behind another are overall the better team?

We could easily lose it from here and I don't see that''d take a disaster. The next six games plus the rearranged Halifax away are tough and we will drop points along the way. If we are still ahead after the Eastleigh game then I will be optimistic.

When I've seen Woking three out of the four games they've played very well, being the best passing team I've seen this year. I've seen you twice, both against us over Xmas when we were truly shite but could, and should, have got something out of both games. We were worth a point at yours and 3-1 flattered you at ours. So, given the evidence I've seen, and the fact the Woking now have their best player back who's been missing since October, I think they are, on their day, better than you.

Let's do away with league tables and just rank teams how they looked on limited viewings, irrespective of how well those teams might have played on those given days.

I'm sure Telford fans would be happy as they'd suddenly find themselves above Aldershot in the table.

Just got back from Dartford and I'm a combination of disappointed, angry and yet strangely sympathetic.

Without doubt we should not have drawn. We started brightly, coped with the conditions well and despite the loss of Easter (which sums up our lack of luck) we took a deserved lead. Unfortunately the returning Steve Mildenhall in goal gifted Dartford an undeserved equaliser but to their credit they then came right back into the game. We then got going again second half and finally got our goal, which we celebrated with mass relief, but inexplicably we conceded an immediate equaliser. The free kick the lad scored was a superb strike, but it is infuriating that we gave away two goals to near enough their only shots on goal. It's gutting.

I'm angry we blew two leads though and feel as though we've wasted a golden opportunity to make up ground on Barnet and pull away from Macc and Grimsby. Where they were clinical in midweek, we weren't today.

I am sympathetic towards Darrell Clarke, however, because he's getting no luck with injuries and we definitely don't have the bounce of the ball at the moment. Lyle Della-Verde got injured when he was in blistering form for us, Mildenhall got injured after a run of successive clean sheets (and IMO he is one of the best goalkeepers in the division), Trotman suffered from a few injuries after being in imperious form at the back, Sinclair is out for a while having become our best player and now Easter gets injured on his full debut. All of them are/were huge losses at critical times and it's costing us. We still aren't losing games and never look like we will, but we aren't winning games like we need to.

The other top sides have clearly had their injuries but it doesn't seem like their very best players have suffered from them? If they have I apologise - and perhaps I'm just noticing it as it's happening to my club - yet I sort of feel as though those around us will get ravaged by injuries soon and that will level things out again.

Overall it's our own fault though for not being clinical enough. Hmmmmmm.

Indeed mate if we did that you'd be near the bottom of the table, of the teams I've seen this season think Braintree were the worst.
Can't judge teams too much on the 1/2 times you see them only on the table especially now 2/3rds the way through the season, it doesn't lie now

Asbolutely, and you'd not get many Barnet fans arguing with any damning assessments made by Lincoln fans from our two matches. I don't quite understand given the way you've played against us why you're not much closer to the top of the table.

For the record, I haven't got a clue who is the best side on their day. Grimsby impressed me when we played them, but we weren't at our best. Not sure given how they played that day if it would have mattered, as they looked really at it.

Mainly because we're utter shite away from home, one win 13 and only 6 points on our travels since we beat you in August, it's relegation form.
But at home it's seven wins in a row unbelievable. The home performance against you guys was as good as I've seen us play in very long time.

I think Accrington could be down here next season the way they're playing at the moment.

Comfortable win today, and it brings us three on the bounce.

Welling's goal came out of nowhere, they really didn't look very good at all, I think they're in trouble. Pleased for Rooney, he takes some stick from our fans but he's getting back in to good form and bagged two of the goals today.

Talk of a slim play-off chance on our forum, but realistically a top half finish is more likely in my opinion, just glad to see us playing well and getting results.

At Woking/Alfreton. Horrendous game being played by two limited sides on a beach. Absolutely no quality on offer whatsoever.

^This.

Great journey to and from Woking today. But well the match. :gmc: we were fucking wank. Absolutely dog shit. Worse performance of the season considerably beating Grimsby away by a mile. On todays evidence we are contenders for the wooden spoon not survival.

Slaphead has it in one though. First half Woking were as bad as us. And until the pen when we did run out the Woking defence you looked extremely suspect.

Unfortunately we are developing a very worrying combination. Shipping pleny goals and scoring few in the oppostions net. Doesnt bode well and I am truly glum tonight about of our chances tonight.

Also Lincoln Fans - I wouldnt expect Tuesday to be on. The pitch is still awful apparently and more snow is forecast Monday Night/Tuesday Morning.

Yep DSL we'll see you guys in the spring, never get why teams arrange midweek games in the winter, always asking for trouble,it's difficult enough trying to get games on at the weekend and its far too cold to sit out in at night. Our maybe that's just me getting old lol!

The Bristol Rovers fan I saw in Clacket Lane services earlier looked so depressed I almost bought his McDonalds for him.

To be fair to them, the alfreton fans there today were a really friendly bunch, we had a laugh with them before during and after the game. Much better than the shit i saw from them a couple of years a go, it was one of the most enjoyable days at kingfield for quite a while
