Play off contenders Millwall are looking to improve on their 6th place while Vale are just 3 points above the relegation zone and need to pick up points quickly before teams below catch them up.

Had some horror shows at vale park in my time but can't remember the last time they beat us at the den. Certainly don't think it's happened for a good twenty or so years.

2-1

I remember them beating us at the Old Den once or twice, but yeah. Apparently they're dreadful away and we're unbeaten since before Christmas. Away win, obviously.

Long bloody time ago now but I do remember us beating you there as you debuted a couple of Russian internationals that day to a bit of fanfare at the time. Must be pushing about 20 years thinking about it.

Other than that, Vale are garbage. Millwall are pretty good so it should just be a case of trying to minimise the damage to our already shocking goal difference in all honesty.

Set the tone for their awful stay with us honestly. All they were good for was the "Millwall sign a pair of stroikas" headline.

Should of won Saturday but that late goal might kill confidence which won't help. If we can match the performance levels of our last two Away games then we might make a fight of it I guess.

Millwall were poor at our place and that was our last real decent win when we looked as though we'd be challenging the top teams... only won three league games since!

Point would somewhat make up for throwing away two points Saturday... win and the wife will have a decent Valentines night! Need to start turning the improved performances (Posh aside) into points quickly.

New years day we sat 9 points above relegation.
In the meantime Shrews ( worst team seen all season bar us ) have gained 11 points on us and we now sit 3 off the drop.
Millwall timing play off run nicely, convincing home win 3-0 or 3-1, just hope Bury and Oldham don,t both win or we in the bottom 4.
Remarkably some Vale fans feel we are progressing under Brown !!

We seem to be creating a few more chances, but our squad is vastly inexperienced and so our conversion rate is poor and evidenced by Saturday, we can't do a professional job and see out a game. A game against a good experience outfit like Millwall is asking for a 3 or 4-0 tonking

We're in a run of form that's difficult to reverse and I'd wager it won't be long before we're in the bottom four and then it's incredibly difficult to get back out.

Since we beat Millwall at home and looked like playoff contenders, this season has been a disaster.

The performances have majorly improved (Peterborough aside).

Under Bruno we were conceding lots of chances against us and barely creating anything... Saturday we had double the attempts of Gills (15 shots) and conceded half that which hugely different.

The problem is we haven't progressed enough points wise although if we can iron out the defensive frailties we will turn it around I am sure. I don't blame Brown overly for anything that may happen between now and the end of the season though, he hasn't been dealt a great hand walking into the mess he did and having to try and rectify it with his hands tied financially and players going for decent money.

Had we held out for 15 more seconds to get the deserved win Saturday and point from this and win Saturday against Rovers wouldn't of been too much to ask and things look much better... just wonder how much that goal will kill us come May...

That was my gut feeling too - things like what happened on Saturday happen to teams who end up relegated. In general teams that get relegated are poor throughout the season, but with the odd spot of bad luck thrown in for good measure.

We've got a tough run of games and I don't see much light at the end of the tunnel. I just hope that confidence hasn't been knocked among this young group.

I think that goal will ultimately kill us, i see in some respect what you are saying VF16, but 2 games prior to getting the sack we had one of the better performances of the season when we unluckily lost to Cobblers. By the way i am not saying Bruno should of stayed, we had to act and get an Adkins, Cotterill type with experience.

Overall this car crash is Smurfs' doing , however Brown for me is becoming what i expected, inexperienced and naive, which considering his years in the top 2 divisions baffles me.
The public criticism of Thomas is a joke. Keep it in house don't wash your dirty laundry in public.
The Tanser signing is truly appalling, who scouted him? Rochdale forums were delighted when he went, is he better than Knopps or Kiko ? NO .
The QPR lad with the long name was not even on the bench, yet another pointless loan signing, Eagles is highly unlikely to start a single game and won't offer a lot i reckon.
His ' dumping ' of most things Bruno..... why is Cicilia not even on the bench? His overall clumsiness and not even knowing himself what he is doing next make him an ideal sub to alter games, Amoros and Tavares have limited abiliity but jettisoned to reserves and not even considered now.
He has changed too much too soon.
His record after Chesterfield, the honeymoon 1st game is 0-3-2. meagre 3 points from 15.
During this period we have played Oldham, Bury, Gillingham around us, and Scunny and a Posh team in freefall who managed to beat us 3-0.
Had we won at Oldham and then lost the next 4 which would of accrued the same points i don't think people would be saying the same.
I will state this now and hope i am totally wrong and you can quote me in May,,, Michael Brown will get us relegated.

Brown is not proving to be the sort of manager that I suspect Vale fans were hoping for when Bruno left.
His first achievement was to come in and question the players fitness (don't forget Brown was part of the coaching staff). I can't imagine professional athletes (who I would hope keep themselves in shape away from the training ground) are going to be happy about this.
Then he alienates the majority of Bruno's signings before singling one of these signings out in Thomas who, despite his injuries, has been one of our better performers for criticism.

It appears that Brown has the man-management skills of any of the most notorious dictators. At least Bruno (and definitely Page) would have had the players behind him in the battle that we are now in.

As for the game, it is the most obvious home banker of all fixtures being played tomorrow night

Easy home win 2 nil less than 100 away fans will waste there time and money going.

Would it be our first <100 following in years? Recall going Lincoln away a few seasons back with around 100.

The NLV might keep the following into three figures as imagine most of them will go this.

I think Harris will have promotion way above a cup run in his list of priorities.
As should the players

Could be distracted and the chance to make the quarter finals by beating the Champions of England who in their current form are very winnable won't be easy not to look to BUT on the flip side they could be desperate to ensure they feature Saturday so play better!

That lincoln following was 132. We had 92 at doncaster for check a trade trophy 91 at exeter for a night match in 2009 and 69 at hartlepool on a tuesday night in 2008.

I remember going to a JPT game at Scunny on a Monday night. It was deemed that important that the kick off time was moved to accommodate a fair that was being held in the car park

Felt like there was about 20 of us there but not sure what the total following was

That following was 102. Think the game finished nil nil and vale won on penalties.

Opportunity to reach the quarter finals though. I think our thoughts will def be on Saturday consciously or not. Three points would be lovely here however they come.

1 down deflection put their lad clean through. Lucks not with us at the moment which isn't a great sign for our chances of staying up.

Sounds like we've been very shit again. Players injured isn't helping but that's down to a shocking transfer window leaving us with inadequate cover.

Going down.

I didn't expect too much from tonight's game, but our problem is that the teams around us are picking up points.
