Salford have a piss easy game.

Cannot wait for Gateshead to once again somehow shit house their way to a win or a draw against us with their 40 fans.

Shouldn't this be in the tinpot thread for not still being in the Fa Cup like the rest of the us big boys?

We’re top of the form table and Hartlepool are bottom, home win then.

Braintree away - don't remember us having two away wins on the bounce for a long time, but this is a great chance.

Their centre-back Nieskens used to be with us, and he's pretty slow - can see our excellent young forward Smith giving him big problems. Looks like they've been losing key players too, so not sure what state their squad is in right now.

Weather (and the famous Braintree pitch) could be a leveller.

My worry for us now we're at the halfway stage, is will our team burnout? We've named the starting XI at least 15 times I think in our opening 22 games.

Whilst we were not shit on Tuesday night - infact we put in a very decent shift again, there was that little sign of fatigue and inexperience. JE already admitted he should've rotated one or two of the team, but he found it hard to do after our superb win on Saturday.

I keep saying that I think Salfords superior fire power will probably get them over the line.

Up front Bonne and Koroma are decent players who will go higher, but then we have Matt Harrold who is 35 and is only really an impact player and James Alabi who is as erratic as you can get - Although he has made a good contribution in a few of our games.

In January we need another striker, winger and central midfielder to hopefully see us over the line for a top 3 finish at least. This would mean moving Alex Lawless and Matt Harrold on, but it may need to be done. One other player coming back into the team is George Elokobi - I'd keep though till the end of the season, useful squad player to have if injury prone.

I wouldn't be suprised if Gateshead shit housed their way to another good result against us - 5 times we've played them and 4 times they've somehow managed to beat or draw against us despite being shit. Looking forward to us struggling to break down another bus tomorrow.............

Munns and Tomi whats his name will no doubt have the game of their lives despite playing like shite for us.

Munns is a top player for this league, understand he had some injuries with you and never got going. Tomi don’t get anywhere near our team now we have Balanta and Wilkinson who have 6 goals in the last 3 games. We need a result from this and then Halifax as we have a tough Xmas coming up.

Given our only fit striker keeps being played out wide and as we have no height in the team whatsover I can see Garry Hill masterminding a 1-0 Ebbsfleet win today.

Knew we'd lose today. We managed to lose away to Pools last season despite having a strong team and them being awful under Harrison.

In an unlikely turn of events, Hartlepool have conceded in the last minute to throw points away.

Edit: They've gone one better and decided they'll be throwing all the points away today thank you very much.

Baffled

Hignett made two subs at the end and killed us, took off our most creative midfielder who was running the show, then took our left back off for a centre mid who was at fault for both goals.

CURSED

Another 2-0 away win and we're putting together a bit of a run which is giving us a bit of breathing space from the bottom four.

Three clean sheets in a row too.

What's going on an Aldershot, thought they might have won today after a promising result in midweek?

Going to do a Tranmere! Just kidding, not got a decent enough squad beyond the boys that are turning out these results.

Simple, a squad packed with kids and loanees and a horrific injury list. Only three on the bench due to only being able to have 5 loans in the squad and 7 permanent players being injured. This season has been incrediably short sighted by Waddock, and he is to bloody stubborn to admit it. We have zero strength through the spine of our team and are bullied all to easily. Couldn’t go today as I was working but listened on the radio and it sounded like Ebbsfleet dominated and we rolled over. Time for Waddock to sort it out now, or we will sleepwalk in relegation, we really are that bad.

Looking increasingly unlikely we will stay up this season. More dire football today. With 6 defenders, no wingers and Bird up front, we were only ever going to score if Harrogate gifted us a goal, which they did when their keeper needlessly handled a back pass and we scored from the indirect free kick. Never looked like scoring otherwise. Pentney continues to flap at everything that comes his way and was at fault for both goals. I accept that we will never be an attractive team to watch but Devonshire has been increasingly illogical this season and seems determined to play the ugliest and narrowest football possible with his starting XIs and subs constantly making little sense. I cannot see his job being at risk though.

We ground out that 2-0 win today, those are the ones you need to win if you want to be successful.

We looked a bit jaded today, Gateshead started off quite well and to be honest they let us off the hook 3 times with poor decision making in the final third.

Second half we managed to up our game and Josh Koroma scored another spectacular goal after we had sustained spell of pressure. The second came at the end when James Alabi forced an error from a poor back pass and Bonne scored an open goal.

Gateshead started off well, but faded second half and started giving the ball away cheaply - The effect of travelling 6 hours down on the day of the game I thought took its toll in the end, the first goal was crucial. They also seemed to lack that ruthlessness you need up front to punish mistakes, but they looked better than they did in August - at least today they came to us and had a go.

Halfway point in the season and 50 points and top of the pile. Would've bitten your hand off for this back in August.

Salford will still pip us though if we last the pace.

Thankfully the CURSE has re-aligned my mental balance back to default mode (total despondency) as I was not in the mood for that Dagenham fan laughing at us earlier

7 defeats in a row. SEVEN! Remember the namesake film where they find the head in the box? That should be where Hignett's is after today.

Completely bottled that. Just stunning levels of incompetence from all at HUFC. Cheers lads.

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Not sure how good Ebbsfleet are, because today the were'nt tested by Aldershot's toothless lightweights.Even so,Garry Hill has really turned them around, and they will surely be a threat to the play-off positions.Organised, positive and dangerous. As for Shots,on a fast track to the drop-zone,next 3 league games = nil points. Bedford Town in the trophy.... hope they haven't got any big blokes... Desperate times ahead

#Hartlepool Oh my word! :dk:

Heard today that Salford have made a bid for the Messi of the Vanarama Conference Premier. With what we've made on our cup run that should see us safe this season. :ds:

Couldn't make it today, but will take that. Would have taken a draw pre match.

Hill has got the boys fighting for each other, and Cheek is scoring goals now! 4 in 3 since he was drafted into the starting XI.
