Because NL is his level (unless he starts to buck his ideas up). He's way off the required standard to make an impact in the FL.

I’ve seen far worse players than Maggy Drew in the FL. He’s more than capable of rising up the leagues if he sorts the other side to his game. Still very young though. Last year will hopefully act as a lesson to him about too much too soon

I can’t stand Still and his archaic methods and am not surprised that he has assembled a poor team however, Shirley this is just a blip?!

League table doesn’t settle down until a good 10 games in so whilst it looks appalling right now, one win and we will jump up a few places. Sadly, I think it will get worse before it gets better...

But there’s no sign that a deserved win is going to come. Note that I say deserved - of course you can ride your luck and score via an undeserved deflection/penalty etc - but I just can’t see us outplaying anyone. We’ve not even had a tricky run of matches - we’ve still got to play al of the better teams! This has been a run of fixtures where realistically 10 points wouldn’t have been an arrogant target to set. To have 2 points along with the type of performances shown, is more than worrying. That goes without mentioning the players arguing with each other, deluded manager, injuries, fan discontentment etc.

There’s big trouble brewing at our club.

I have only been to the Eastleigh match but I am feeling more and more strongly that time has caught up with John Still and that he has not approached the challenges that this job has with as much gusto and fire as he would have had he been appointed our manager say five years ago. Everything he's done since his appointment suggests that he's been phoning it in. I even get the impression that in his second spell at Dagenham he wasn't as driven as he used to be.

Last year was pretty tough for Still with everything going on at Daggers. He's not a young man, maybe it knocked the stuffing out of him? I wouldn't write him off yet though.

God knows what Spire is watching. As obvious of a red card as you can get.

Their fans on here are a very blinkered dull breed so what shocks you?

Looks worse than it is. Those things ALWAYS go against you at Barrow.

I can only remember losing to Barrow once in all our seasons in non league, think we pretty much had the measure of them most times home and away.

Last couple of interviews he's looked weary to me. I think you are right and he is just too old to meet the challenge of the job.
Would not be surprised to see him walk before the end of the season.

The way things are going I wouldn't be surprised to see him walk by the end of the month.

I wouldn’t panic yet. Tranmere started slowly and were excellent once they got going and finished 2nd. We won 2 of our first 12 games and were 19th at Christmas, finished 7th. Maybe you’re just getting used to the league. Same with Salford, as soon as they find their feet they’re gonna be smashing teams. They’ve got too many good players not to

Are things really that bad at Barnet already? Should've thumped us by about 3-4 goals on the opening day. You've also got some quality players at this level to come back into the squad (Reynolds, Akinola, Tarpey etc). Surely it will pick up at some point after a poor start?

It might do but people are antsy after what happened last season!
Moreover, our displays have felt undercooked. Still's teams usually display certain attributes that we have yet to see in ours so far this season.

Still needs to resign immediately, for his own sake and the club's. Another atrocious post-match interview in which he whined about us not being ready for 3G. We have two 3G pitches at the Hive. Go figure.

He's built a dire squad, built of players he was chummy with at Dagenham and players he presumably rated a few years ago who are now hideously shot like Byron Harrison. There are players arguing on the pitch, leaving opposition players unmarked despite all being behind the ball at free kicks, attendances set to drop below the 1000 mark - this is his mess. It's not a case of a new team being slow to gel, it's a team that looks clueless, hopeless and heading for the NL South unless Still leaves ASAP.

You could be as bad as us?

All this talk about Barnet, they've got good players for this league like we apparently had last season, didn't perform and look what happened.

The only difference is, they aren't run by crooks and aren't on the verge of going bust so they'll turn it round at some point with or without Still. Once your players aren't paid on time, that's the time to worry.

Did I read correctly that Martin Allen played Sam Wedgebury as a wide midfielder (until he got injured)? The only thing Wedge is good for is kicking people in the middle of the park. And he does it very well.

Yeah well we had no wide players, so needs must and all that. Brought Kyel Reid in now though.

Kyel Reid? Heh. I give it 5 barely mediocre performances before one of his knees go.
