Got what we deserved tonight, ie. Fuck all. We have such crap quality all over the pitch just can’t see how we stay up without major changes. That said, Yeovil are the best side I’ve seen down here in the last two years, certainly better than Orient last year. Now they’ve found their feet at this level, I fully expect them to go on and piss this shite league.

Completely agree. Yeovil looked excellent when we played them.

Beat Wrexham but in all truth it was 2 poor teams and their keeper gifted it us really. Crazy how if we win our game in hand we're around the playoffs. A couple of wins in this league and it shoots you right up

Yeovil were absolutely dire when we played them, so i guess we got them at the right time.
At this stage of the season a few wins changes everything, we've gone from 4th bottom to the play offs in 4 games (4 wins).
Beat Chorley last night 3-1 without our main defensive midfielder Taylor who was suspended and we could have scored twice as many, but despite that i think with the addition of a quicker centre half Chorley will stay up.
Courtney Meppen-Walter got Chorley's man of the match despite giving away both penalties and unwittingly deflecting Oli Dyson's shot into his own net. That show's where there issues are.

Actually all that shows is ths Sponsors picking he MOM obviously dont have a clue. We were generally poor last night and 3 or 4 players should hang their heads. Big improvements needed or we go straight back down.

I found it bizarre that two Woking players didn't play last night, not because they are actually injured, but because they didn't want to risk them playing on a 4G pitch. How do they think we cope, or Sutton, or Harrogate, or Maidstone?

As expected we left our two strikers out so they didn't get ruined by the shiny plastic abomination. With such a small squad and injuries already we can't risk them not being available. Never seen so many players slipping over on it either. never seen a good game on plastic and never will. Ended up with a right back up front. Plastic has no place at this level, its just something people use to fund their side. Neither side could stop the ball zipping off down the bottom end.

However that all sounds a bit pissy after losing. Something is clearly happening at Bromley, the new end looks good, their team looks good (very strong) and the are getting 6 times more than they did a few years ago. Sadly most of them seem to be plastic Millwall spackers who's balls need to drop.

They kept us at arms length all night and Craig Ross kept the score below 5. They will certainly make the play offs. Our challenge on the night was fairly limited but they'll beat sides a lot better than us.

Interestingly, the sponsor Phil Collier is a Barrow fan and has a sponsor on the back of our shirts. I'd like to think he was trolling, but I very much doubt it.

Meppen-Walter seemed the weak link - aside from the penalties, he was getting done for pace every single time. The left-back had to do a lot of mopping up for him.

We have one player who cannot play on 4g pitches due to a long-standing knee problem. He missed a pre-season friendly at Dorchester because of it.

One of the Woking players was Tarpey who spent over a year out with an ACL injury so it's understandable they won't risk him on it.

I think 'pissy' is an understatement. We play on this surface every week and train on it every day. We don't have any injuries due to the pitch. Any injuries we have had are completely unrelated. The pitch is FIFA approved, just like they are in far higher leagues around the world.

To be honest, this whole discussion is pretty boring and is used as an excuse even before the game by teams that invariably go on to lose. I cannot see any evidence that us or Sutton, Maidstone and Harrogate have had more injuries than other clubs. For example, we have Billy Bingham playing for us who has a history of knee injuries and he hasn't missed a single game this season.

Ardley syndrome leaked through to the supporters, for gods sake Ardley grab this club by the scruff of the neck and do your job or fk off.

Not really, unless you’re City or something, a point away is always a decent result, whatever level you’re at. Especially with half the side out injured.

Anyway, very happy with the win. Three more points at home to Fylde and we’ll be looking in quite good shape.

I feel sorry for you guys. This issue crops up all the time in places like MLS where certain stadiums have had artificial pitches for many years and players much more notable than Dave Tarpey have refused to play on them. Anything where something is perceived to be a risk of increasing injuries will always see people be wary of it. Too be honest I think people still associate the newer pitches with the older astroturf/plastic pitches and that clouds their view on the issue.

In reality I think studies have generally found that, especially on the newer surfaces, the increased risk of injury is non-existent or at least negligible. I think there was a study that found a small increase in certain cruciate injuries but that was for American Football and there have been studies saying that it has a lower risk. Good artificial pitches really shouldn't be feared these days.

The medical teams at each club will no doubt assess the perceived risks posed to certain players. And the psychological element will also be taken into consideration if players are nervous about playing on a particular surface for any specific reason.

I understand the commercial benefits behind installing an artificial pitch but from my experience, they are not yet comparable to the real thing. It is therefore completely understandable why certain clubs / players make the decisions that they do, even if this reduces their chance during the game.

Jim O’Brien suffered a double fracture to his arm at Bromley on Saturday, putting him out for three months at least.

No idea if the pitch was at fault tho!

That's the thing though. Bromley train on it all the time, other teams don't

But them training on it all the time didn't stop them from slipping over all the time. The worst plastic pitch is Maidstone, just horrific

But it WASNT the reason we lost. Bromley are a better side than us and would probably have beaten our full strength team on grass as well. If they strengthen then they are a serious title contender

I've played a few times at poolfoot farm which is Fleetwoods training ground and I think they call it 4g. It's a fake pitch but I was surprised at how good it is to play on. Saying that I have a touch like dennis bergkamp so I'm probably not a good judge of it
