6 wins from 7 and up to 4th in the league. I have to say I like these 'rugby player' comparisons.

Chesterfield ought to be kicked out of the Brotherhood for that, League table all nicely shaping into a Brotherhood 1-2 of Wrexham and Orient and then they score late to let Salford up into second.
Should be ashamed of themselves.

Hands up if you've ever heard of a Wes Founguck before you read the name on this thread.
IF I'd been asked at the start of the season who our best midfielders would be, he wouldn't have figured.

Fair play to him though, never had him down as a goal scoring midfielder and he seems to be getting better and better with each game.

Good win.

Barrow played some lovely stuff at times but no end product. They didn't want to shoot. We capitalised on two mistakes in the first half. Second half we came out and attacked and should have maybe got another goal.

Ref was shite.

Fonguck is class.

For the first time today, we looked like a competent team.

Nathan Smith and Manny Onariasa have added strength to our back line. Add Ben Nunn and Ben Goodliffe to that and we have a defence who can stand up to big, strong teams.

Our front 4 now looks a million times better with Balanta and Munns in there.

Apparently another signing or two next week as well. I think one may be Cody McDonald - based purely on deduction of we're getting a striker in who Taylor has worked with and has played in the league above. That would be a very strong signing for this level.

Hopefully that will be enough for us to pull away from the drop. Braintree and Havant look like they're set there for the season. Got a feeling Dover will eventually start to pick up. Think Halifax, Maidenhead and possibly Ebbsfleet could drop into the battle.
How old is Cody McDonald now?

Safe to say Eastleigh like a 1-0 win and the honey period for Jamie Fullarton at FC Halifax is well and truly over.

Not very much to say about the game at Barrow today. They were fairly threatening in the first half, playing some lovely football and cutting through us at times - but dallying on the ball would allow us to regroup and block/intercept. Was very happy to come out of it 2-0 up against what looked like a very competent outfit.

Then the second half came and Barrow just completely changed - really Jekyll and Hyde. Passes going astray, clearances scuffed, wrong decisions etc. We were very comfortable in that 45, more so than I’ve seen in a long while. Have to say it was very nice to see Reynolds and Tarpey back - only about another 8 to go!

The referee was really diabolical today though. Proper villain for both sides, very incompetent. Missed a blatant handball penalty shout for us and somehow missed Sweeney shove a player in the chest/throat in a bit of handbags being just two highlights.

Onto Salford on Tuesday.

Appalling today, as bad as when we shipped 7, 7 and 6 in the space of the 10 games of Comical Kelly's tenure. Not a shot on target against the shittest Vision side we've come across. Started meek and deep and continued for a full 90 minutes in the freezing cowd without once upping the desire and tempo, not even in added time. Their free kick and header in was the only move that got anywhere from either side. Every Town fan seems to be having a late night #meltdown over this and they can all be completely excused. There are apparently 10 or so teams worse than us over the course of the season still (I won't look at the table), but I'm sure every last one of them can go at us at this point and help notch up those points.

The board's been less communicative then ever this season, possibly because they expected going full-time under a Scottish blatherskite to do the talking for them as we rocket into the #EFL92, and now our management won't even face the press. The title of Flux of Pink Indians' second album springs to mind.

9-0-0 against the shit in the bottom half
2-1-5 against sides who can actually play football in the top half (and one of those wins on the opening day at Eastleigh)

Flat track bullies. Reckon you can keep up that perfect run against the dregs? Because there is fuck-all chance of that record improving against the top half.

Deserved a point and possibly more really. Don’t think wrexham were particularly good.

Can only agree with the officiating, some really random decisions given including two absolute stone wall penalties, of which he only gave 1. Pretty much sums up our luck currently, we’ll win on soon I’m sure.

We won, yes that’s right we actually won. First half we battered Harrogate and we’re deservedly up 2-0. Second half they battered us and could’ve easily got it back to 2-2 in the final 10 mins but thanks to easily the best save I have ever seen at this level we kept them out.

New signings are a welcome addition and there is more to come. Away at Dover Tuesday, now a massive game.

Great win today, all our players are getting back to full fitness. I really expect us to start making great strides towards the top echelons of the league.

Wes Fonguck running the midfield again, best midfielder in this league.
We’ve still got Vilhete, Boucaud, Akinola, Santos and Harry Taylor to return although I don’t think Harry will be very near the starting XI.

Should be ashamed of themselves.

The sacred Brotherhood doctrine, article number XIVIVIIIIIIIIIXVVV states:

As a feted Brother of the Hood, upon the occasion of a Proper game and in times when the season is still but in its infancy, Brotherhood members are required to share points in an even distribution to one another. As the public house league campaign draws to a conclusion, members who are lower ranked than another are required to forego points to a fellow brother, in the interests of the higher ranked Brother's pursuits to restore the natural order.

It also states:

There is to be no debate or complaint regarding the outcome of proper games. A win for one is a win for all, a draw is for the mutual benefit of the community. As a hallowed member, one is required to adhere to this stipulation at all times or risk eternal purgatory and banishment to the status of enemy of the natural order.

Thought we could have won yesterday. Great point though, now the monkey is off the back, so to speak, we might see a few improved performances.

Meadow will likely be able to confirm this, but I read somewhere that he was sacked by Wimbledon in the summer because he showed upto pre season quite a bit overweight.

Come Jan/Feb if we have the injured players back then we will need to offload a few. Even now with half a dozen still out we still have a few who seem to be surplus to requirements.

Sparkes and Elito look like they were a complete waste of money. Perhaps Still didnt reallly take a good enough look at our youngsters before he started signing more players.

Sparkes was injured and poor when he played for us, was surprised you signed him but then Still always goes with same crap he has had before.
Must be crying into his pint now we have some money, Mr Dagenham would have only had to stick it out a few months, can’t wait to give the surrender man some stick in December.

He's the guy who has scored the same amount of goals in the league as your top goal scorer. Only he plays in midfield. You clearly don't know much about this league. You should do considering the amount of time you have spent in it.

Our season so far...

5 without a win
5 wins on the spin
4 without a win
3 wins on the spin

I'm pretty pleased to be sitting within touching distance of the top 7 given our inconsistent form. Theoretically, we should start to perform far more strongly now that one or two are starting to return from injury but Salford at home is going to be extremely tough.

We really should be capable of competing for top 7 but need to start doing better against some of the top sides. We've already lost to Orient, Wrexham and Harrogate (all away).

Would take a point tomorrow but given the way our season has been going, we'll probably win and then go on a terrible run thereafter :dk:

We’ve still got Vilhete, Boucaud, Akinola, Santos and Harry Taylor to return although I don’t think Harry will be very near the starting XI.

Don't forget Harrison, and also Coulthirst who has been out for personal reasons. We should have an adundance of attacking options soon.

You don’t need attacking options, you’ve got the league’s best midfielder that nobody has ever heard of.
