Good attacking performance from us in the first half today and then equally as impressive defensively in the second against a Dover side who are clearly no mugs.

And I will have to reiterate again- Cameron King is the best player in this league.

The best defencive team to visit Crabble, this season, how we didn't get anything today will remain a mystery ,and we have played worst than that this season and taken the three points , but that football on to Notts County

Especially impressive considering we are without our captain and main defensive outlet in Brown. Not sure how Staunton was a centre half at Woking. He looks much more comfortable in the holding midfield role and despite the win, feel like we are missing his presence in midfield.

As for Cameron King, class act. Wouldn’t say best in the league but certainly up there. Won’t be long before clubs come sniffing.

We're still playing but on our way to another 3 points. 7 in a row.
How are you doing it,? What's changed since your win against us when quite frankly we were all over you missed chances, off the line etc and you ended up winning 3 1 but looked garbage for the most part.

At that point it was still very early days with a new manager and new squad, now they're bedded in and starting to click as a unit.

Dawn breaks, Soup Spoon and Master D wake up on a lazy Sunday morning and stretch sleepily. "Oh man, i had a nightmare last night", says Master D. "Me too" says Soupy, "I dreamed bloody Halifax were on the telly and they were fucking brilliant, and" "they were without The Rock, and 2 other regulars" , chimes in Master D. They both stop and stare at each other...... "Oh no! It was REAL" they both exclaim. "I need a hug" says Master D. "C'mere" says Soupy, "I'll show you why they call me Spoons...............".............. :ds:

Fairly routine win over fylde, they knocked it around nicely after we went 1-0 up but didn’t have much of a cutting edge. The second was a relief though. Back to back wins with half the team out was pleasing too.

That’s 19 points from the last 11 games now, which is play off form. Onwards and upwards!

I seem to have missed the salty side completely.
What’s been said?

A lot of comments, including from the fan who rang in to 606, saying that pretty much all of our fans booed and were abusive to your keeper. Not true. Also that our fans and players applauded the actions of the ballboy. Stupid comments such as claiming that Lee Collins highfived the boy - in reality he was telling him off. There have been so many comments from our fans concerning Cousins' welfare and wishing him a speedy recovery but for some reason your fans seem to have missed them all.

Just to put that further into perspective, you finished below us that season :db:
To be fair you were the best side in the league that season. We were very lucky to go up.

Absolute miracle that we won yesterday:dk:

The Only plus is that the Denton/Boden strike partnership is back. Only problem is, our one and only plan is long pump to Denton for the flick on... if only we had some half decent midfielders so that we could mix our play up every now and then.

Onto Eastleigh (H) next Saturday where we could possibly make it 3 home wins out of 3

I see Wrexham have finally won a game, and the Beeb say they even missed a penno! Amazing stuff really.

Meanwhile here's a pic of the King.

What a champ he is.

Someone on our forum is rumouring that he has a condition to do with his energy levels, hence only being in the XI around two-thirds of the time. He hasn't got a powerful shot on him, but his all-round game? Crikey he's good at this level.

Watching the Dover defender during his first goal yesterday, even though it was our first real attack I could see him getting a shot in. You simply don't let him get in the box with his feints and trickery.

I’ve missed the “salty” and have noticed the well wishes. Always welcome and thanks to the Yeovil fans that have.
Would have taken a point before the game.
Given how it played out I am not surprised how it ended.
We move on to the next.

Just watched Dover v Halifax. Nice to see Modeste is still the same cheating c*** as he ever was.

Would be willing to bet £1,000 that he’s dived in every single game he’s played in his career.

Worgan’s a prick as well so glad to see him embarrass himself on TV. Spent the whole of the 2nd half against us time wasting and faking injuries before we scored in the 88th minute. Then started going absolutely mental at the ref when we time wasted for 1 minute after.

you might want to move onto the game after the next one - we're ahead of Yeovil in the form table for the last 5 games and have won the last 3 away aswell. Who will be in nets next week though as I've seen you don't have a 2nd keeper on the books?

Imagine how many penalty shouts a team with Modeste from Dover and Pearson from Wrexham would have in a match....

Going from playing a team that's won 7 in a row to one that's won 5 in a row is a slight improvement.

Pearson?
Genuinely can’t ever remember him diving once in all his time here.

He did the Harry Kane trick of leaving his leg in to try and initiate contact. You would think he would be able to make it convincing after years of practice.

Maybe it's something we have taught him.

Set piece. SP goes into the box. Starts wrestling with people, falls to the ground screaming his head off, arms raised.

Doesn't get given a penalty. Every time.

Do refs in this league ever give penalties for set piece fouls like that? Not sure I’ve ever seen one given. Usually the ref gives it the “I’m watching you two gesture and talk” but never does anything after that.

Thought it was just me- The replay's running and Virgo is talking as though he's been taken out with a bulldozer while I'm squinting, turning my head upside down, putting on the polarised goggles straining to see even a light brush with the keeper's flapping jersey sleeve.

"A clear pen", Virgo pronounces, with all the authority a little known ex-pro earning some pin money on a minor league sports programme can muster.........

How we lost that today i’ll never know. Bossed the first 15, went 1-0 up, Chesterfield score just before half time. We come out second half, batter them, Panayiotou blazes a pen over the bar, they score with their only shot of the half, we batter them the rest of the half and lose 2-1. Unbelievable.
Can see why Chesterfield are down there, on a different day and with a half decent striker (not Panayiotou or Mullings) we’d have won 6-2.
Was actually impressed with our performance today but need to pick up points against the teams around us.

We can play as well as you like, but with the diabolical finishing we produced om Saturday we are heading down.

Still got no idea why Panayiotou took the penalty - either Chislett or Powell should have been on it. The one on one he missed a minute later was almost as bad.

Only forward I felt a bit sorry for was Agyepong who looked quite good and was desperately unlucky that his 25 yarder hit the inside of the post and bounced out.

Agree re the penalty - if Powell is a so-called set piece specialist and can score from 30 yards, why can’t he do it from 12?

All the time we don’t bring in a centre forward, we’ll lose games like that and get dragged in. What i’d give for us to sign Ricky Miller this week.
