Good afternoon everyone!

Some might remember this from TFF days, simply post what you expect from your team for the coming season. Run us through your current squad, there ex clubs, where they play, then give us an opinion on them and expectations for next season. For example -

Name - Jonty Rhodes
Age - 22
Position - Right back
Previous Clubs - (Ebbsfleet, Luton, Barnsley, Bolton)
Jonty rhodes is an experienced right back who has played well in excess of 100 games for Walsall FC.
Expectations/Opinion - Definetely one of our best and most experienced players, is a very solid league 1 right back and I am hoping he will perform next season. If he does I'd expect us to keep a very good goals against record next season.

And so on..

Please include a list of your summer transfer dealings (in and out)

I'll set the deadline as the 1st August, which will be the week before the season commences.

Fire away!

I remember this from a good few years ago, will be happy to do the Cheltenham one a bit closer to the season's start.

Not a bad idea, but seems like a lot of work.

Would many on here actually be interested in reading a review of our squad?

Can't recall having this, but we had a thread where the squads were being updated as pre-season progressed.

Guys just do the best you can.:)

I cant remember this either from TFF either but then I was wasnt on there that long.

I was instructed by Admin to start this thread.

Perhaps it would be easier to do one on your arrivals rather than your exits?

It's more anyone being interested in taking about 3 hours to write up their whole squad.

I still don't remember these from TFF but it must be a league thing as in the other forums they are all fighting each other for who is going to write their sides review.

Obviously have too much time and nothing better to do as a FL fan.

The other leagues have got on with it, I don't mind doing it if it'll only take an hour or two. The irony of "having better things to do" is lost on some people on here, isn't it?

If you're happy to waste two hours of your day writing up a detailed report that no-one will read then fair enough but it really does seem like a pointless thread.

Maybe not the weekend proposed but here it goes:

Name - Jonathan North
Age - 24
Position - Goalkeeper
Previous clubs - Watford, Oxford City (Loan)
Opinion/Expectation - Northy was one of the best goalkeepers in the Conference South last season, he kept us in so many games when we were all at sea defensively. A superb shot stopper who's very quick off his line, the only drawback against him is his height (no taller than 6')

Name - Ryan Watts
Age - 25
Position - Left Back
Previous clubs - Met Police, St. Albans City, Braintree Town
Opinion/Expectation - Came in last season and did a job initially, however I personally thought his performances declined rapidly as the season progressed. Can whip in a good cross and does like to get forward but is too lightweight.

Name - Wes Parker
Age - 30
Position - Centre Half
Previous clubs - Gainsborough Trinity, Boston United, Grimsby Town
Opinion/Expectation - Club captain who's been with us since 2010. Wes performed to a far higher standard than I expected, he's not afraid to put a tackle in and organises the defence well, but his distribution could do with some serious improvement.

Name - Tom Hamblin
Age - 27/28
Position - Centre Half
Previous clubs - Gloucester City
Opinion/Expectation - Tom joined us in September 2013 and has been the best defender at the club imo. Positional awareness is excellent and he plays the ball from the back, there aren't many negatives to his game.

Name - Tom Cadmore
Age - 27
Position - Centre Half/Right Back
Previous clubs - Whitehawk, Hayes & Yeading United, Wycombe Wanderers
Opinion/Expectation - Signing of the summer for us. Cadmore has real pedigree, having started for a side that made the playoffs last year and performed to an excellent standard for H&Y when they were in the Conference.

Name - Carl Martin
Age - Don't know, 27 as a guess
Position - Centre Half/Right Back
Previous clubs - Macclesfield Town, Crewe Alexandra
Opinion/Expectation - One of our youth players who returned after many years in the FL and Conference with the two clubs above, there was much expectation put on him last summer. I thought he was a real disappointment but then again I don't think he's a Right Back any more (where he was playing), he would sit back whilst we were attacking down the wings, stifling our game and forcing us to play narrowly. There were moments of class but they need to become more regular.

Name - Josh Urquhart
Age - Don't know, think he's 21
Position - Utility player (Centre Half/Right Back/Defensive Midfielder)
Previous clubs - Harlow Town, St. Albans City, Northampton Town
Opinion/Expectation - Has moved up two steps this summer and is highly thought of in Essex NL circles (if that's a thing?) Impressed me in our friendly vs. Stevenage with his combative style and decent passing range. 90 minutes isn't enough time for me to assess a player however.

Name - Elliott Godfrey
Age - 31
Position - Defensive Midfield
Previous clubs - Staines Town, Hendon, AFC Wimbledon
Opinion/Expectation - I want to like him (seems to have a real rapport with the supporters) but I don't think he's good enough for the National League South. Too slow to fulfil his role adequately but does have a use with set pieces and only ever seems to score screamers (his goal at Chelmsford last season was my highlight of the season).

Name - Michael Corcoran
Age - 26?
Position - Defensive Midfield
Previous clubs - Ebbsfleet United, Rushden & Diamonds
Opinion/Expectation - Signed for the Stones in January 2015 but much like Godfrey, I think he's too slow to fulfil his role adequately. He's seemingly impressed in pre-season so hopefully this season will be a better one for him.

Name - Daniel Brown
Age - 25
Position - Defensive Midfield
Previous clubs - Maidenhead United
Opinion/Expectation - My personal preference in the defensive midfield role, he's a little bit quicker than the two above but is very aggressive and will break up play if needs be.

Name - Ryan Hope
Age - 20
Position - Central Midfield
Previous clubs - Harrow Borough (loan), Boreham Wood
Opinion/Expectation - Signed this summer and has been receiving rave reviews from those on the terraces. A box to box midfielder who likes to score goals was what he said about himself in a recent interview.

Name - Tom Hickey
Age - 21
Position - Central Midfield
Previous clubs - Hampton and Richmond Borough
Opinion/Expectation - Joined last summer, months after Gordon Bartlett had initially tried to sign him. He was largely anonymous I thought and his season sadly ended in late October/early November last year. He's still a couple of months away from full rehabilitation but is still in GB's plans.

Name - Scott Davies
Age - 27
Position - Central Midfield
Previous clubs - Dunstable Town, Oxford United, Aldershot Town (loan), Crawley Town, Reading
Opinion/Expectation - Signed for the Stones in January and within one half of football it was evident that he had played in the Football League. Technically very gifted, excellent with set pieces, he played a big role in the side that ended mid-table. He's not played once this pre-season but hopefully will be back for the opening day fixture at Bath.

Name - Matt Ball
Age - 21
Position - Attacking Midfield
Previous clubs - Farnborough, Stevenage, Norwich City
Opinion/Expectation - Signed in October 2014 after we paid a fee to Farnborough. Like Scott Davies, technically very gifted but annoyingly inconsistent. There is a superb midfielder in there somewhere, it's just only shown in flashes. Chipped in with a few goals towards the end of the season so hopefully more of the same this season.

Name - Dale Binns
Age - 34
Position - Left Wing
Previous clubs - Sutton United, Woking
Opinion/Expectation - A player with real pedigree, he impressed me in the hour he played vs. Stevenage. Was happy to take his man on, linked up well with the Left Back and his vision was evident too.

Name - Shaun Lucien
Age - 22
Position - Right Wing
Previous clubs - Harrow Borough
Opinion/Expectation - Signed from the Scummers early last season, Shaun Lucien made a real impact. A tricky winger with pace, he caused plenty of problems for opposing defenders, he can take a mean free kick too. I like him because he makes our game more expansive, hopefully he's a nuisance again this season.

Name - Bradley Hudson-Odoi
Age - 26
Position - Winger/Second Striker
Previous clubs - Met Police, Vasas, Thurrock, Grays Athletic, Histon, Hereford United
Opinion/Expectation - Signed this summer having impressed with the Met this past season. He played in the number 10 role against Stevenage and had some nice touches. Jury is out until I see more.

Name - Jonny Wright
Age - 29
Position - Striker
Previous clubs - Workington
Opinion/Expectation - Frustrates the hell out of me. He could be a very good National League South striker, but my God is he inconsistent. He's unfortunately developed a reputation of not being able to hit a barn door which I think is unfair. I'm glad he's sticking around because he could/should prove a lot of doubters wrong.

Name - Scott McGleish
Age - 41
Position - Striker
Previous clubs - Enfield Town, Chesham United, Whitehawk, Bristol Rovers, Leyton Orient, Northampton Town, Colchester United and Barnet amongst others
Opinion/Expectation - I can't really badmouth him simply for his workrate, plus he does still chip in with goals even at the age of 41. This year he's taking more of a back seat, coaching rather than playing.

Name - Jefferson Louis
Age - 36
Position - Striker
Previous clubs - Too many to list, go on Wiki
Opinion/Expectation - Signed from Lowestoft Town in December 2014 and was a liability, including being subbed off after half an hour on Boxing Day vs. Sutton. However once he finally scored in late January, he went on to finish top scorer for the club (10 goals). A real nuisance whose strength posed untold problems for many a Centre Half in the league. He's suspended for the first 3 games of next season after an elbow vs. an Ebbsfleet player last season.

Name - Joshua Hutchinson
Age - Don't know.
Position - Striker
Previous clubs - Potters Bar Town
Opinion/Expectation - Signed this summer, making the step up 2 divisions after he finished last season as the league's top scorer. He's arrived with glowing reviews and Potters Bar's chairman believes like Tom Pett (who we also signed off PBTFC) he'll make it into the Football League.

Edit:

In:
Bradley Hudson-Odoi (Met Police)
Josh Urquhart (Harlow Town)
Ryan Hope (Boreham Wood)
Dale Binns (Sutton United)
Josh Hutchinson (Potters Bar Town)
Tom Cadmore (Whitehawk)

Out:
James Hammond (Concord Rangers)
Richard Jolly (Kingstonian)
Joe Turner (probably Met Police)

I thought we should have done more to keep Martin this time last year, really good centre half for us, not so much at right back, like you say not the most adventurous from that position.

Since there's only been one person done it so far and it needs a bump...

Name - James McKeown
Age - 26
Position - GK
Expectations/Opinion - Probably the best keeper in the league, great shot stopper, distribution and set pieces still slightly dodgy but improving. Without a coach, he wasn't as solid last year but with Andy Warrington this season, hopefully he returns to his best.
Name - Richard Tait
Age - 25
Position - RB
Expectations/Opinion - Has looked fairy solid defensively and likes to go forward. Was ever present in Cambridge's promotion season. Hard to replace Magnay but we've done a good job in doing so.
Name - Gregor Robertson
Age - 31
Position - LB
Expectations/Opinion - Solid defensively, average good forward but we improved when he came in for Aswad Thomas. His injury towards the end of the season is currently still with him, so he's not played at all this preseason but I hope he returns soon as he's a good option.
Name - Scott Brown
Age - 30
Position - CM
Expectations/Opinion - Was amazing at the start of last season. Did everything right for 10 games. Then he got injured and looked a shadow of the player. Been injured for most of preseason to but with a bit of recovery time, he might be ok. Can't cross or do long passes. But barrel-chested. Wasn't sure offering him a new deal was right. We'll see.
Name - Shaun Pearson
Age - 26
Position - CB
Expectations/Opinion - Shares the accolade as best centre-half in the league (with Manny Smith). So, so solid. Amazon heading ability. 100% committed every time. Every year he get better and better. Likes to do Beckenbauer-esque runs as well. Only thing that's held him down is his lack of pace. Does lots of work at schools and with the youth team. Rejected higher wages in this league ( £a$tl€igh etc). One of my favourite players.
Name - Josh Gowling
Age - 31
Position - CB
Expectations/Opinion - Steady, good in the air and experienced. Looked very good in preseason. Looks very spindly though. Another great centre back in this league.
Name - Jack Mackreth
Age - 23
Position - RM/RW
Expectations/Opinion - Mackreth probably did better at Macc as he has had to contribute more defensively to this team as Hurst enjoys his overlapping. However, with Tait, who is a bit packer than Magnay, hopefully he can really let loose as he had been in preseason. Fast as anything. Average crosser. Good finisher. Slightly lightweight.
Name - Craig Disley
Age - 34
Position - CM
Expectations/Opinion - The man who never grows old. Will score between 8-10 goals again this year. Despite calls for his dropping at the start of last season, he showed his worth and pops up with vital goals each season. Still pretty quick for 34. Will be a sad day when this man retires.
Name - Omar Bogle
Age - 23
Position - ST
Expectations/Opinion - Despite all the bigging up of this signing, we might just have to ease him in as its his first in full time training. Has all the attributes of an Akinde type player. Big, strong, fast for his size and goes down fairly easily. Scored 2 in 2.5 games in preseason and I'm very excited to see what else he has to offer. Not a great target man surprisingly.
Name - Padraig Amond
Age - 27
Position - ST
Expectations/Opinion - Signing of the summer so far. He's a better version of Ross Hannah as he's a bit more intelligent with his runs and positioning. Scored 7 in 7. Hard to see him not being in the starting line up. He looks to be scoring goals the easiest at the minute.
Name - Andy Monkhouse
Age - 34
Position - LM/CM/ST
Expectations/Opinion - Great in the air. Hardly has the ball at his feet as he just passes it elsewhere. If he doesn't have an overlapping full back, he'll just end up passing it backwards. Provides intelligent balls to players though. Good to have as a target man if we're chasing the game.
Name - Callum Bastock
Age - 18
Position - GK
Expectations/Opinion - Never seen him play unfortunately. Spent most of last season out with an ACL? Injury so he's still recovering.
Name - Marcus Marshall
Age - 25
Position - RM/RW/LW/LM
Expectations/Opinion - Marcus was great in his initial spell here but turned to shite when he came permanently. After several uninspiring spells at Morecambe and Lincoln, I'm hoping he'll kick on. Has looked like initial spell player so far though, scoring a couple of goals. Strange running still. Lightweight. Can sometimes keep the ball glued to his foot.
Name - Harry Clifton
Age - 17
Position - CM
Expectations/Opinion - Signed a two-year deal not long ago so must have promise. Seen him a couple of times and likes to have the ball and never shies away from play, which is good in a young player.
Name - Craig Clay
Age - 23
Position - CM
Expectations/Opinion - Craig has come on leaps and bounds since last preseason and he now looks a CM who can pass, tackle and find his team mates. Bit slow but he has a great engine. I hope he goes onto better things because I think in a couple of seasons, he will be fantastic.
Name - Josh Venney
Age - 18
Position - CM
Expectations/Opinion - Tiddler. Small but keeps the ball extremely well. Probably needs to bulk up but he's technically very good IMO.
Name - Jon-Paul Pittman
Age - 28
Position - ST
Expectations/Opinion - After that penalty in the final, most town fans gave him sympathy and wanted him re-signed. So far, he's paying back that loyalty but also scoring 7 in 7 and looking sharp. Can sometimes go missing from games. Has a touch of class which you rarely see at this level. Good finisher. Strong for his size. Intelligent and a great personality in the dressing room.
Name - Nathan Arnold
Age - 28
Position - LM/LW/ST
Expectations/Opinion - Hurst has moved him from the wing to upfront this preseason and it's paying dividends. His pace and trickery scares defenders. Can score amazing goals as seen in the POs. Looked very disinterested around Christmas but has since been very good.
Name - Josh Sunter
Age - 18
Position - CB
Expectations/Opinion - Haven't seen enough really to judge. Definitely not a right back.
Name - Aristote Nsiala
Age - 23
Position - CB/RB
Expectations/Opinion - Toto last season was very hot and cold. Capable of a major mistake each game as showed in the PO final. He's very fast for a CB and in some games, can dominate the forwards. Can also produce great long passes. So far this preseason, he's cut out his mistakes, which is promising.

Name - Daniel East
Age - 23
Position - RB/LB/LM/RM
Expectations/Opinion - He has got a very good set piece and it seems we will score some more from set pieces this season. Bit of pace and fairly solid attacking and defending. Very right footed so possible mistakes at left back are likely. Like him though.

Transfers Out: Paul Bignot, Carl Magnay, Ross Hannah, Chris Doig ( Now Assistant Manager), Nick Draper, Lenell John-Lewis, Ellis Humble, Caine Winfarrah, Paul Walker

Transfers In: Danny East, Omar Bogle, Andy Monkhouse, Richard Tait, Padraig Amond, Marcus Marshall

Youth team deals: Venney, Sunter, Clifton (2 year)
