I'm not sure we will top 8k this season, we've played our two main local rivals at home and our game v FGR is in midweek. Will get closest in the home game with Southport if both sides still have something to play for then.
Yes, that loss of our MASSIVE Saturday away support will ruin the gate :D

We have a bigger regular away support, that's all - and the difference there may be mostly accounted for by Nth Lincs exiles. There is no way Gy would get 7k at BP on a Monday night even if were top of the league and it was a tenner. Lincoln have a better home ground in a much less run-down area. We've lost 25-30% of home support compared to the 70s, alot no doubt the 'Shire farming set who don't fancy passing boarded-up pubs along dog shit alleys - we won't get those sorts back until we have a new stadium, and many of those who live in those terraced streets around BP can't afford to go to home games regularly.
Are you kidding?! The route I walked to Lincoln's ground was an utter dive. It made the area around Prenton Park feel like a royal estate. Mattresses in front yards, tatty trampolines in overgrown gardens, cramped narrow rows of run-down terraces... all the cliches. I'd been led to expect to like Lincoln, but I must have taken the wrong route into the ground.

Haha! Joking apart, it was a whistlestop visit, I'm sure we got the wrong impression because I've been reliably told Lincoln is a great place. Birkenhead, on the other hand... ;)

I must always have - there's a feckin great big park next to SIncil Bank and I always park on that (Newark) side; in all my visits to Lincoln I've never seen a mattrass in a garden. There is a water feature near Blundell Park, it needs a bit of a clean up though.

Sincil Bank isn't the nicest of areas to be fair, but walk five minutes into the town centre and you're much better off.

Uphill Lincoln is the bit to visit if you want good pubs and the Cathedral, Castle etc. Sincil Bank is a bit ropey and not much different to the streets around Blundell Park actually. South Park (where Limerick Mariner parks/passes through) has some nicer, larger houses. Lincoln is an odd one. Some areas very nice and some really deprived.

Didn't see the park, I must have come from the other side. We walked down Queen Street (where the mattress was!) and across the stream.

Sincil Dike, hence the name Sincil Bank!

As GB and GG say, it turns quite quickly in Lincoln. Either side of Sincil Bank is quite different and you can from the area around Sincil Bank to £1.5m+ houses near the Cathedral in a couple of miles.

I'll make a point to have a longer visit next time, hopefully in a league game

If southport was a big game it'd be far higher than 8k.
What sort of numbers are you suggesting? Even with discounted tickets, think we only managed around 8.5k for a L1 match. With the price hike on the day and the fact Southport are unlikely to bring more than 500, the evidence from this season suggests we'll be hard pressed to reach that figure. Maybe with a play-off game...

Kenilworth Road wins the refuge dumping prize, as I recall, with behind one of the stands resembling a municipal tip. Sincil Bank utopian by comparison.

Agreed, I think we've seen 'peak crowd' for this season, unless we reach the playoffs.

Millmoor was grim too, scrap yards all around it

Very impressive following from Tranmere. Sad to be outnumbered at our own ground but there were more home fans there than I was expecting. Thats our best home gate In the league for a good few years

Also there were 55 Bromley fans at Macc last month. I've only just found out the actual figure

Top of the league at KO, 1 hour trip, average more like; Lincoln would have taken more for a similar trip (especially if it was a tenner to get in)...

Ok, I'll rephrase that as 'impressive compared to Macclesfield'. Any following of a decent size looks good from the perspective of a supporter of a team the size of Macc

892 Wrexham at Southport today. That's more than we get ourselves for some games.
