Staly just have an out and out bloody bad side, apart from one player called Kengi who they have on loan from Rochdale, but manager keeps playing him, resting him, playing him wide, playing him up front etc, etc...........he's tried hard to f*ck him up.

Nice to see a rare goal, that is only the second staly goal i have seen since boxing day i think, expected defeat, but battled hard.......they have spirit and battle, just sadly a team who cannot defend, pass a ball, control a ball, cross, shoot or head.........can run and that is about it.

in dire trouble, but its a 3 way battle for the drop between Stalybridge, Mickleover and Bamber Bridge and them 2 play each other on last day of season if i remember.

I've never in nearly now 30 years since a side an inept going forward as Staly so while i detest ever a side adapting this approach i think Staly's best hope is a god awful 9-0-1 all out defend approach at Hyde.........we cannot score, so why bother trying to, attempt to get vital point a point may be enough with the other 2 playing each other.

Nantwich secured a play off spot. But it will be an away game at South Shields, farsley or Warrington so it's going to be tough. I heard yesterday even if they win the play offs, they don't go up yet, they have a super play off game Vs another leagues play off winner. Very confusing and with not really knowing the league I've got no idea why.

You have to give credit where credit is due those attendances are pretty impressive for this level of football.

I'm not too sure on that one? I haven't heard of a play-off game vs another league team's final.

As it stands at the moment it does look like (barring accidents, Farsley should win the league they only need a point at home against Marine next Saturday) and South Shields would need to win their match at Gainsborough Trinity.

And then a qualification of four clubs for the Premier Division play-offs.
Two semi finals and then the play-off final.

The 5th spot is between Buxton and Gainsborough Trinity who are locked on 65pts.

Well that was better than i've seen for a quite a while, maybe since 2018 from the Bridge, decent performance and very undeserved defeat for a change.

same big massive issues though, lots of running, lots of hard work but a back line always making 1-2 massive cock-ups a game to cost a goal and a total inability to be able to put possession into some decent chances.

first half even, not much in it for either side, celtic probably had a couple of good opportunities but did nothing with it, Hyde did nearly nothing, but one hopeful ball sent their player through due to horrific marking in the back line (left a gap bigger than Gibraltar in centre of defence) and a very good finish made it 1-0.

second half Hyde did nothing but keep tight, celtic controlled and for the first time in maybe 5 months finally got more than one lone stranded man in the opposition box as midfielders and wide men seemed to finally decide to move into the box.....got a couple of very good chances but goalkeeper for hyde had a blinder plus hit the post......ah well.

takes it to last game, 2 way battle really for the drop between Stalybridge and Mickleover. Mickleover are away to Bamber bridge who secured survival with a win saturday and Staly at home to Grantham who also have nowt to play for.....Marine could also go down and have the hardest trip away at Farsley.

both need to win in easier words.........if both do then i think Marine will go down, if either fail to win i think it'll be them as i think one of the two will win. problem for celtic is they are already 1-0 down (their usual each game defence cock-up) so need to somehow find 2 goals next week.

At the top its a straight battle between Farsley and South shields, neither have games vs sides with nothing to play for. Farsley home to Marine who need something to make sure survival, South shields a tougher ask away at Gainsborough who must win to try and grab a play-off spot.

hope Farsley do it because South Shields would only really win this title through their failure to be able to beat a terrible NFU side on 2 occasions...........hrdly championship credentials.

Good little club Staly and I love Bower Fold. Hope they stay up and get a good squad together for next season. No way should a club like that be battling relegation to step 4.

Dave Frecklington to leave Matlock Town at the end of the season. Very surprised by this. Has done a great job since coming in back in September.

It's a brutal job in the world of the managerial merry go round. I suppose the six nil drubbing by Buxton was the final straw, they've only beaten Marine, North Ferriby and Hyde since Dec.
They were going great guns when he took over, moved within the play-offs at one stage with 6 wins out of 7.

Sorry to see Marine relegated with their 125th anniversary coming up. Nice ground, Rovers used to play a pre-season there.

they must have been very unlucky as that mickleover turnaround came late.

made for a very tense ending as Staly went from looking comfortable with 3 goals needed to go down to suddeny only 1 goal needed to go down but with Marine losing Grantham were frankly safe and uninterested.

have heard on grapevine, similar to conf national that a few of the bottom sides were in deep financial sh*t heading into last day (for some relegation would see them gone) maybe one might yet go anyway and leave Marine safe.

South Shields certainly have the backing and support to make a good go of it in the NLN. Some impressive attendances there, fit enough for the National League.

Great to see former Rovers Paul Carden, David Raven, Jack Dunn and Mitch Duggan help Warrington Town reach the “super play off final” what ever that is!
Jack Dunn is far to good a player to be playing this far down the football pyramid.

Dunn has a lot of talent but didn't seem to have the best of attitudes with us. If he's learnt how to knuckle down, potential to move back up the leagues.
Another ex-Rover, Jack Mackreth, also at Warrington.
