We are at home. We generally don't win home games.
We are on television. We generally don't win football matches on television.
We are playing a team above us. We generally don't beat teams above us.
When the playoffs look realistic. We generally cock it up with a defeat.

I'm going for a 2-1 home win.

I'd take a draw now, would just keep us ticking over nicely

Agree with all that, apart from the bit about teams above us. We have struggled against the hoofing teams on the whole, and done quite well against the better teams.

Lose tonight and our slim playoff chance has gone. Win (along with a Millwall loss!) and we still have hope!

Lets hope Appleton brings back most of the 5 first team players he rested on Saturday!

See Oxford have adapted our old Swindon chant, like it

Surely they don't say Flint said no at the end?

Oxford goalie made 2 very good saves - trouble for him is his defence were 2nd best reacting.

Not that I ever thought we could get 2nd, that definitely secures that we can't. Great win for Bolton. 2nd theirs to lose now.

Is that really true though? One win and four losses against the top three. 7 points from 9 against Scunthorpe and Bradford I grant you, but 0 wins and five losses against Millwall, Southend and Rovers.

I make that ten points from 36 which isn't that great. What it really suggests is certain teams are better than us, certain teams have our number, and others are just Scunthorpe.

As for the game I actually quite enjoyed it. Based on the evidence of my own eyes, Bolton are right up there with Sheff Utd as the best teams in the league and deserve their probable promotion - although I'm still to see Fleetwood.

They were hard to break down and they weren't afraid to drop men back and ride it out at points in the second half. I thought the 14 up top won pretty much everything in the air and they were first to the loose ball far too often.

We could have equalised with a wonder goal but I think this is more of a reference point for next season and one for us to gain experience from.

Would be interested to know from those watching on TV if it was a foul by Dunkley for the first goal? Think it was on Le Fondre.
It is very difficult to be objective about a referees performance but he even pointed the wrong way for decisions on more than one occasion. Very frustrated our defenders were getting penalised so much .

Referee was pretty awful for both sides, the injury to Lefondre was a clash of heads, i didn't see a foul in that as both players were looking at the ball, but as said, the ref was pretty poor for both sides

Their 14 when he focused on staying on his feet was good but most of the time his centre of gravity was by his little toes so if he lost a challenge he fell over. Also, supposedly injured by the way he went down on a number of occasions but he kept having immaculate recoveries enabling him to berate the Ref or Linesmen. McAleny was correctly booked for diving for me seeing it at that the time but how 14 wasn't baffles me.

Marvin Johnson was so unlucky with his long range shot. Their 3rd goal was a joke, poor from Skarz all the way to Dunks's diving header. Overall, thought a draw would have been a fair result but not to be.

Bolton will go up automatically as the ball is rolling for them at the right time and being clinical at the right moments (1st goal and last goal spring to mind).
