Steve McMuffin's assistant. He was one of very few coaches that Rafa kept on when he joined us, so he clearly thinks highly of him.

Cardiff City Football Club is pleased to release the following statement regarding the Club’s ongoing process of debt reduction.
On 18th May 2018, by way of an Open Offer, qualifying shareholders (those holding in excess of 100,000 Ordinary 10p shares) were invited to subscribe for additional shares on the basis of five additional shares for every two held at a price of 10p per Ordinary Share.

Accordingly, on the 25th May 2018, Tan Sri Vincent Tan, subscribed for 664,152,868 10p Ordinary Shares, at a total subscription price of £66.4m.

No other qualifying shareholders decided to take up their entitlement.

The subscription price was paid by repayment of loans outstanding to Tan Sri Vincent Tan to that value.

This reduction in the loans due to Tan Sri Vincent Tan follows on from the loan to equity conversion carried out in June 2017, whereby Tan Sri Vincent Tan converted £12.6m of outstanding loan to equity.

Therefore, for the year ended 31st May 2018, Tan Sri Vincent Tan has converted a total of £79m of his loans to the Club into equity.

This is a continuation of the process of delivering on our Owner’s previous public statement to reduce the level of debt being carried by the Club.

On behalf of Cardiff City Football Club, Executive Director & CEO, Ken Choo, said: “We would once again like to thank Tan Sri Vincent Tan for his generosity.

“Following our recent successes on the pitch, we are extremely pleased that these continue to be mirrored by financial stability off it.

“As fans, staff and players alike eagerly await the upcoming 2018/19 Premier League campaign, we also look forward to the continuation of this ongoing process in the future.”

Massive news for us this is, leaves us with a debt of around £50 million now to either pay off or convert into equity again. Vinnie boy fucked up in a pretty bad way with the rebrand but he's sure gone some way of making sure he's made it right.

our first 4 have been moved for tv. a 12:30pm kick off at home to spurs and the same time away to cardiff will be particularly annoying for travelling fans.

It really must be getting increasingly difficult to be a City fan seeing embarrassing shite like that.

Silky, can you confirm?

Why have Chelsea waited until now to sack Conte? Premier League and an FA Cup not good enough these days?

Not for Chelsea, no. The FA cup win came with a 5th place finish, something RA won't put up with. As well as the other shit this season.

It's just going to be a rinse & repeat though isn't it? The players will put in a shift until they decide they don't want to play for the manager. If you've got the situation where the players can exert so much influence then it's pretty jokes.

Mike Ashley says we don't have any money for signings. We will just have to hope this "Premier League" experiment soon takes off abroad and can start making money. Have they tried selling it to TV companies?

Because he has a year left on his contract and he honours his contracts. He'll be off next summer.

I won't even let you whine about it til you replace him with Hodgson.

He's been offered a one year extension, so we'd have to compensate Palace for him. You can rule Hodgson out.

How the fuck can Newcastle not have any money for transfers in today's Premier League?

Well he's hardly going to declare he's up for a big spending sesh. They've made some awesome signings so far - a couple more and they'll be right up there.

We've signed 2 players we already had last season (1 on loan with no transfer clause), sold a 22 year old midfielder with bags of talent and replaced him with a 29 year old free transfer. We're literally weaker than we were when the window opened. And we've made a profit of course.

Are you saying this could be a cunning tactic Mike Ashley has come up with somewhere between drinking 20 pints and vomiting in a fireplace?

Newcastle are no stronger than they were in May, Stoke made the same mistake last season and got left behind. Hope I'm wrong.

It would be nice if that was the case but he walked away from Velencia when we came in for him. Cracking guy is Rafa, but if the right offer came in he would be gone, and no one could blame him.

I hope he stays, Rafa is made for the situation Newcastle find themselves in. He's always going to put up a fight against Ashley and so long he's the owner, it's the best you can hope for. His system works very well with limited resources as well and as Pags says, he's a cracking guy.

I'd hope Ashley sells up eventually and Rafa gets the resources to really push Newcastle forward as the final push of his career. To think of what he could do with just the resources Newcastle reasonably should be able to put up is quite exciting, especially since I want both him and Newcastle to do well.

What I'm saying is, now that we're set to dominate the league until at least Rafa's retirement I'd love to see Newcastle come second.
