Lowly Vale face Bradford in a clash where both teams need points for different reasons. Vale are in the relegation zone while Bradford are in the P/O but have only won once in their last 7 games.

Draw probably. Don't lose too many at home but haven't the ability to see games out. Possibly play well... get into a comfy 1-0 lead then make a cock up with 15 to go allowing Bradford to equalise then lose our heads and cling on to a point... pretty much how it's going for us at the moment.

Be a tough game this though as we currently have one centre half available with Streete injured and Knopps banned so hoping we can find a free agent! Although think Pugh can play there but that's taking him away from the Grant role he did so well in Saturday.

Our script goes - Dominate, create enough to go in 3 up but don't and probably only manage 1, go into the second half and concede a patheticly soft equaliser and write SAME OLD STORY on here at 5:00 Saturday.
Saying that, I think we might win this one, something we rarely do in this fixture despite playing Vale twice a season for what feels like a lifetime.
Prediction? 2-0, Wyke and maybe Marshall, think a big pitch will suit us and hopefully we'll turn our dominance into three points by killing someone off when on top for once.

Is Alex Jones likely to play for Bradford? If so pretty much count on him to score.

I struggle to see a way we can win this. Fuck knows what the defence is going to look like. At least Leo Fasan in goal is going to get some work to do. Will take Bradford to win 3-1 at a guess.

Jones is out injured, started running last week but did something to the cartilage in his hip, he's not done anything yet though for us

If anything it will be the other way round. We've had more possession and more chances in pretty much every game we've played but have somehow chalked 16 draws up. Last weekend a classic example of totally outplaying the 3rd in the league and yet still not getting 3 points.

We will probably have a better chance of a result if Bradford come and attack us, if as say last season they sit deep and play solidly we wont break them down. Played better away under Brown without reaping the rewards (Millwall aside) whereas at home we've struggled to create anything.

We don't play all out attack or all out defend. We'll have more possession and create 5 or 6 decent chances (basically enough to win any game) and not give many chances away. The problem is we don't score enough of our chances then we'll concede a stupid feck-up from one of your chances and it'll end 1-1 or something.

If you don't score tomorrow you have problems... we've only got 1 available centre half! (The issue with only having 3 in the first place has reared its head!)

We've been looking at free agents but none are fit enough to come in to cover Kjell and Remie straight away so may play Purkiss or Mark Pugh at the back.

Hopefully Kiko keeps his place (should do) as he was very good last week, one of the very few decent foreign players that signed.

Interestingly we played Bradford in a dire 0-0 at the start of the season with neither side creating much and shows how much we have changed:

Line Up Aug 6th:

Alnwick - Sold to Rangers for £250,000
Knops - Banned
Smith - Will play
Streete - Injured
Purkiss - Will play
Foley - Will play
Tavares - Sent to train with the kids, not played under Brown
Grant - Sold to Peterborough for £100,000
Thomas - Will play if he doesn't pull a muscle getting out the car
Cicilia - Injured, not started for weeks
de Freitas - Injured

It was dire but we had about 9 fit senior players that day and 6 of them were new signings so we're a different team now. Or ironically we are the same as we didn't look like conceding but didn't look like scoring either.

The one optimistic thing I can say about us is Wyke has started really well and he could be the difference for us in the run in. But personally I think we will fall away at this point. Southend and Millwall will bludgeon out results where we can't. It's piss-boilingly frustrating.

Wyke is a decent signing, scored against us for Carlisle this season in the EFL Cup.

Millwall have majorly improved as have Southend, both were dire at our place early season but Millwall looked a different outfit a couple of weeks back at theirs... will find out Southends improvement next weekend!

On a positive at least you wont fall away as spectacularly as we have!

Typical of us of late. Bradford get one on target and score we miss a sitter a minute later.

Bradford have had plenty of possession but we've tested the keeper more.

Really poor but very Vale goal to conceed.

I doubt there was anything more predictable this weekend than Jones scoring against us there.

Frustrating but so very typical of our current form.

Deservedly got back to 1-1 seemed from then on we would go on and look the likely to win it.

Game turned on two diabolical refereeing decisions in the space of a minute. Firstly not sending off their lad for a stamp that you could see clearly from anywhere in the ground... didn't even book him so can only assume it wasn't seen!

Secondly the hand ball for the goal.

Played well especially considering we had a make shift defence with Guy at RB and Purkiss at CB. Kiko was decent, Pugh class (Vale fans need to maybe apologise for the negativety when he signed!).

Bradford started ok, played plenty of pretty football with minimal end product before going back to the knocking it long into the channel Bradford we've been accustomed too in recent years second half. Law looked decent for them.

Massive task for us now and another game where we didn't get the result the performance warranted which is worryingly a relegation trait.

JJ Hooper missed sitters twice before scoring... dare we hope for Big Reg to be our saviour?

From what I've seen ( didn't bother today) and despite scoring hooper is no better than reg.
I still don't think he'll be our saviour, I'll be surprised if we get owt from dale and Southend away, Swindon at home are our next maybe points.
It all looks rather inevitable, we are a poor side.

Play as did today and we have a chance at Rochdale as they are sliding.

I don't either but Reg must have decent goal return for minutes played so gives us options.

Very surprised the ref didn't see the hand for our winner, not sure it was meant but it certainly helped him so in my opinion should have been given.

A good and crucial win for us today. Played ok, think Marshall would have had a field day today if he was fit.

Great win today without needing to get out of 2nd gear really, Marshall missing hopefully back Tues and Jones of the bench from injury things are looking up, think Vale are down there awful.

Not surprised the bradford winner was given as every single ref is against vale never get a fair decison called for anything.

Was a piss take as seconds before he didn't send their number 14 off or even book him for the stamp on Forrester. Changed the game though as Bradford looked poor second half once we got on top of the game and at 1-1 seemed as though we'd be more likely but as we've seen lately we can't see it out.

Its not just thst its also the fact in the last 3 weeks we have had 3 penalties given against us none of which were penalties. If we werent in the bottom 4 none of them would have been given not as if they should have been given anyway. The refs in alot of cases pretty much decide who is going win the games due to there terrible decison making.
