1-1 at home to a strong Blackburn side. Decent effort that.

About 60 minutes gone we are 0-0 with a very strong Liverpool side.

6,800 in attendance with 5,000 from Liverpool.

Match ends Bury 0-0 Liverpool. A fairly credible result given the team they put out, plus we actually managed to carve out some chances of our own.

Worth noting the Huddersfield team we lost 4-0 to in midweek lost 3-0 today to Accrington.

Lost 1-0 to Barrow, standard stuff really. We usually have a game against a Conference Premier opponent where we lose. Macclesfield, Chester, Lincoln. Now we can add Barrow to the list.

We drew 1-1 in a behind closed doors friendly with Bristol City, with a trialist scoring our goal.

1-1 at home WBA in the first 60 minute game with both teams 1st XI playing. Very impressive.

Youth teams played a second 60 minute game which we lost 0-2.

Bizarrely we played two 60 minute ‘matches’ ’against West Brom at Home.

Drew the first ‘game’ 1-1 - Adebayo with the goal.

Lost the second ‘game’ 0-2.

So 1-3 in effect.

Did you go? I thought we were really good in that first game. Hope it translates into the league games.

Good result for Bury today. I know it's only a PSF but holding mighty Liverpool to a goalless draw is not to be sniffed at.

Meanwhile, we're on this AMAZING little pre season run. Another day, another PSF win, this time 4-1 at Chelmsford, a much better side than the likes of Rolls Royce FC in case you were wondering.

In Dunne we trust.

One team beat Retford 5-0 while the other drew 0-0 with hednesford.

Pre-season results mean little, though I’m actually Going to a pre-season at Mansfield for the first time in 8 years next week.

Everton next up for us... then finally on to some games we might be able to win vs Chester, Radcliffe and Southport.

We lost 5-4 away against Benficas B team.

Mooney, Bonne, Alabi and Brophy scored for us.

We went 4-1 down, pulled it back to 4-4 before losing to a 90th minute penalty.

We'll be away to East Thurrock United on Tuesday night next.

Only 2 friendlies in for us but unless Sheridan is a miracle worker between now and the transfer deadline, we’re absolute certs for relegation. There’s such a lack of quality from front to back of this team it’s scary.

How did you get on at Penrith today?

So how does it happen that a club in League Two with gates of around 4,500, and no known financial issues, end up with such an alleged poor squad?

they won 2-0 i think

Usually we win that fixture 6 or 7-0. Last time we were in a league 2 relegation battle we won 6-0 at Penrith in the preseason.

We are dreadfully short in most areas. The lack of any shred of quality up front and in wide areas terrifies me.

If the board put no no money in and break even, even at this level you struggle. We did it as a supporters trust club and we were in a relegation battle every year.

Our fans are having a bit of a meltdown , apparently we were abysmal against Derby, only perked up when some youth team p!ayers came on.
I didn't go but personally I'm glad were playing some tough opposition as I thought we started last season under prepared.

They are shit fans then, how can you have a meltdown over a friendly, let alone one versus a top Championship side. It’s means so little, it’s there primarily to highlight things to work on in training. This is a great reminder why I don’t bother with NCM.

Delighted we are playing the two best East Midland sides , tough games we will lose but learn.

Whatever happened to judging a side after 10 league games? lol

You evidently didn't watch. No one was bothered about the score but the lack of effort was a disgrace. I think we touched the ball about 10 times in the first half, each time ended with a hoof to stead and giving up possession yet again. First half was just an attack v defence exercise. When youth players come on, put a bit of effort in and we finally get a bit of the ball and play football and show up the first team, something is wrong.

I didn’t , I have no interest in a PSF.

Save the melodrama and overreaction for when it matters, save it till 10 league games have been played and let’s see where we stand then.

If from those 45 mins in front of a large crowd do indeed prove the Nolan squad is rotten to the core(?) and something major is wrong , then no doubt Mr Hardy will be furious and will put his firm view across and won’t mince words. If I’d gone, I’d of been annoyed about the £10 I’d spent/wasted but I wouldn’t be concerned.

Last season’s squad was a very honest one, I see no reason why Nolan’s squad this season won’t be also
