not a clue lol i could be wrong i just saw some updated shareholder figures the other day..i didn't really read it proper,i just seen some cheng family thing and got carried away

No one knows for sure who the exact people are behind the deal but hopefully given it's taken Whelan about 10 years and several turned down proposals he's carefully selected the right people, as too many other clubs, the owners have been desperate to sell and sold to the first person which wasn't necessarily right for the club.

If todays rumours are true and they do seem to have some actually solid links behind them, then that would make us serious players next season and definitely worth a few quid at the bookies. Whelan would have played an absolute blinder. Still not believing them until it's official though.

I think Preston will go one better next season if they keep most of their squad together. Birmingham should be better (can't get much worse). Sheff Wed will be up there and the 3 who lose in this years playoffs.

I'm feeling optimistic which means we will get relegated

dont see why we cant finish mid table next season with a few extra players we more than competed with better sides last season in the fa cup.. paul cook is a class manager he demands nothing less than 110%!

That's fair I suppose as an team coming up will probably need to strengthen.
We beat Watford, Crystal Palace, Stoke and Man U to be fair but it means nothing.
This is a tough division, some do well on promotion some don't but you've been here before so know how tough it is already.

If Villa don't go up this year, don't they run into issues with FFP?

We have big issues with ffp next season, and apparently a new manager too. We won’t be troubling the top six.

Mowbray's out in India talking to the shysters Venky's this week so hopefully after the bank holiday weekend we'll have a better idea of what we're in for next season. Still think with some minor investment (and keeping hold of Dack, Mulgrew, Bennett et al) we could at least be in with a shout of the play-offs, Mowbray knows what he's doing.

Or, more likely, our lovely owners will turn the taps off and we'll go straight back down.

You seem alright defensively but I can't see where your goals will come from. I think you'll stay up but unsure who will score goals to take you much higher.

Aye I think that could be our downfall, we were alright this season but Mulgrew won't be bagging double figures next season and our loanees have gone back now too, looks like Armstrong might be leaving Newcastle so hopefully he comes back here, though I don't see any of the others doing the same. Graham will struggle against better defences and the less said about Dominic Samuel the better, the man is stealing a wage.

Stoke should be challenging but not good enough for autos
West Brom perhaps on the fringes of the play offs
Swansea no where
Sheff Wed cant be as bad as were this season
Villa automatics if they lose and keep Bruce
Fulham midtable if they lose and lose their team
Middlesbrough zzz
Derby zzz
Preston and Brentford I agree will again be near the play offs
Everyone else also rans, including the 3 promoted teams.

Early predictions, eh?
No mentjon of Forest? Will Forest finish above Derby? Probably.
I'm increasingly thinking that Forest, Derby and Middlesboro will be the key teams to watch.

Impossible to say how Derby will do under Lampard without Vydra, will be an interesting one. Stoke look strong.

Not convinced on Stoke just yet. A very good team on paper but Rowett is yet to win a promotion and James McClean is not a signing that screams promotion in my eyes. Could see a playoff defeat.

Hard second guessing our seasons potential with our transfer business yet to be started. In previous seasons gone by we've had a lot of our business done by this point.
I've got no real expectation for this season mind, I'll take top half.

Forest have got a decent manager and are now joining the buying the league club again so they'll have a good year.

So what do we honestly think a couple of games into the season? Can Bielsa promote Leeds? Are Swansea going to romp the league? Are Hull?

No one looks the "real deal" yet - too early to say. Leeds and Boro look strong. Decent start for Villa, and with the signings they look like making they could make a real challenge again - no idea what FFP will do to them though.

We've looked good early on, but consistency has always been our issue. It's been good to see us picking up points even when we've not been doing so well, but got to view the draws against Stoke and Villa as points dropped.

I think we can go up but we're asking Potter to do it with one hand behind his back. Frustrating really because I think he's shown that if he was provided with just a little backing he'd romp this league quite easily - only four games in but indications are he's the highest level of tactician we've had.

Chasing a goal, take off your only striker and replace him with a defensive midfielder.
Tactics eh.

And you?
Adam, 27, Cheshire. I support that team that romped to the L1 title last year whilst turning over the Champions of England in the process.

In all seriousness you’ve played more midtable/relegation fodder this month than I’ve had hot dinners this year. If you’re still in the top 6 in two months then fair play.
