we've certainly played the most attractive style of football to date, I suspect we will turn up one day and give someone a real pasting at home, however get back to me in April for promotion predictions because I know us too well

Or you'll fall apart into midtable mediocrity like every other season.

well no sign of it yet and we are 2 points ahead of last seasons fuck up and we didn't bottle it at millwall this time around

but the most important thing and something we've never done in the championship is we are beating the teams that are gonna be up there come May , we never usually match the top 6 in terms of ability this time we are so far

I think the key here are teams that play a high tempo pressing games almost always fade in the final quarter of the season.

I’m sure when Klopp joined Liverpool, they started well, then faded looking tired towards the end. Last season Sheff United played a high pressing game working so hard off the ball but we looked jaded winning 2 of our final 10 league matches.

When Bielsa joined Leeds, all the experts with knowledge of the European leagues said that Bielsa always starts his career at new clubs really well. He makes them super fit and they suffocate teams playing high tempo high pressing football BUT they also commented that in the later stages of the season his teams usually lose energy and stop winning. Don’t know if this is true as I haven’t checked.

Regards the current top teams.
West Brom have the players and if anything I expect them to get better.
Boro have Pulis, who is a bit like Warnock, even when they are poor they can find ways to win.

Regards Leeds and Sheff Utd it all depends on the strength of the squad and how those teams adapt to squad rotation. Leeds financial power gives them an advantage.

This season I don’t think there’s a massive difference between top and bottom, so it’s likely that a team will only require a relatively modest points total to gain promotion.

There are loads of “mid table” teams who only need to improve 10-20%, then they’ll become play-off contenders too, it all makes for an exciting league.

Why did Terry leave in the first place ?
Because at the time we were in a financial black hole. He left before we go taken over. We couldn’t afford his wages at the time. Chester and Grealish were about to leave too.

We will give it a go, we are fifth now without really getting going yet. Convinced we have a couple more gears to go and if we are in with a shout come January, we will invest

Plenty of depth too, some real quality players waiting to come in and when we rotate players they are taking their chance. We made five changes Saturday and beat Boro comfortably.

We are pretty erratic but are constantly improving and when it does click we have been really good.

Our downfall will he Pantillimon I think, he’s a car crash.

Steele no good when he’s been called upon?

You make it sound like you haven’t invested a lot already!

Hasn’t Karanka already signed 20+ players since taking over?

He’s looked pretty solid in the Cup matches he’s played, I’d like to see more of him

Oh we’ve spent plenty don’t get me wrong and AK has been basically given whatever he’s asked for.

It’s more that we will support him further if needed in the transfer window and bring in that extra player or two to maintain momentum, if we are up there.

This league is chaos really, about 15 teams look like they have a chance!

Quite keen for Bristol City, Preston and Wednesday to be promoted cos the PL forum is fucking dreadful.

Even the big games don't get many comments about them!

It's deadly dull..

How are we 1 point off the play offs?! We can score and keep clean sheets, this is a new feeling for us.

I think depending on the points deduction saga we have an outside chance of making the play offs

This league is utterly insane. Moreso than usual. I am going to avoid trying to predict anything or getting overexcited / underwhelmed by a win or defeat until we get to January. Literally no point reading anything in the table as it moves so quickly and so drastically.

Despite 2 disappointing results it's not ended too badly at all in terms of league position. Hopefully we can get back to winning ways against Wigan.

Not a bad week for us....

you doing this well makes us look even better imo, we beat you with ease and I remember thinking oh maybe Derby and Lampard will be around midtable come the end

but tbf he's got you playing now and are 2 points behind making our result against you, boro and Norwich stand out even better than before

I feel like this is our best chance to ever get top 6 , still not convinced top 2 belongs to us due to squad limitations, with Hernandez and Roofe we step up to another level

it's hard to believe we have a forgotten 2 men on long term injuries too in Bmaford and Izzy Brown, 2 players i'm sure most of the top 10 would love to have around their squads, both proven at this level, the sooner they return the better for us

wish we signed Jack Marriott though

Yeah maybe so, although we were always going to take a fair few games to get going, not many teams hit the ground running like you have done.

Some very good wins there for you but at the same time all the fuss and clamour over Leeds and we’re just two points behind. Until this week we were plodding along under the radar quite nicely but it’s hard to avoid our performance yesterday.

Just got to keep picking up points and stay in touching distance, it doesn’t look like anyone’s going to run away with it this year. Tough trip to Boro on Saturday dinner for us.

We will bring you back down to earth in a few weeks.

We will see, we are in stronger form than you, 5 points past you, better goal difference by 6.
I fancy us to get something at vile park and I certainly fancy us to beat you at home.

Your record against us in recent times is shit. I’m glad it’s at our place, where we are far more stronger than on the road. You are playing well this season though, I will admit.

Yes, and we will turn the Blades over too. Seriously dreading that game already.

I'm a bit jealous of you lot having spicy derby games.
We haven't played that shower of shit in North Bristol in a league game for eons and it doesn't look likely to happen any time soon, useless bastards.
You can't beat the feeling of a decent derby IMHO.
