Well after a remarkable let off in the results on Friday, we now have a chance to get back In the top 6 for the first time in a while. Hopefully a reaction after Friday happens.

Reading 0-1 blades ( donaldson) 12711 (945 blades).

If the weather up in Reading is half as bad as it is currently here in Portsmouth, I doubt we'll have more than 10,000 in the ground.

Those who don't turn up won't miss much anyway.

Last game away to Hull was probably our worse display in the 20 months Wilder has been in charge.
Wilder was interviewed yesterday and he’s still really angry and upset. He really laid into the players accusing them of lacking desire. Amazingly he actually admitted he’s now lost interest in the promotion run in because he doesn’t think we’ve a chance of the playoffs. Also said it’s not mind games, he’s just being honest and says the players aren’t good enough to reach the play-offs. He also said he had no idea where the club was heading because non of the directors have updated him about the current take over battle in the board room. He sounded fed up and some fans have suggested he’s unhappy and might even leave.

So will be interesting how the SU players react.
We’re well overdue a clean sheet, only keeping 1 clean sheet in our last 9 matches.
We’ve conceded 1 goal in 7 of our last 9 matches, so always seem to concede a single goal.

I reckon by the law of averages we’ll keep a clean sheet tonight.
I’m expecting a reaction and a 0-1 or 0-2 Blades wins.

Listening to it live on the radio.

We’ve had 2 great chances already, could easily be 2-0 up inside 10 minutes.
Leon has a great chance again...goalie saves it but Sharp scores the rebound.

Sheffield United 1-0 up already and playing better, although Reading have been poor so far and our 2 early chances were down to Reading errors. Plenty of time left though.

We score 1st we generally win and the other way round if we concede 1st we lose so its looking good.

I don't think you have much to fear from our shower of shite.

Must admit you've looked pretty awful so far, we could do with a 2nd really whilst being the better side though.

Bad luck for Blades.

Looks like both Leon Clarke and the goalie Blackman might have suffered a relatively serious injuries, radio think they’ve both pulled his hamstrings. Both have been substituted.

2-0 now, spectacular goal from Duffy.

It’s no more than we deserve, been surprisingly comfortable. Should be 3 or 4 nil really.

Reading have been really poor, players just seem happy to play a nice but slow patient short passing game, looking pretty but not causing any damage.

Expect Reading to show more urgency second half, it’s been too comfortable and our players need to guard against complacency.

Typical..Reading pull a goal back from nothing, now 1-2.

The radio presenter is still confident and mentioned this season we seem to concede ONE goal almost every match, we rarely keep a clean sheet.

Attendance just been announced
They said a terribly low 6,769 with 730 away fans.
That must be lowest ever league crowd at the new stadium.

Can’t believe it..Reading get a soft penalty
But it’s saved.....
The radio presenter is furious...saying the match should have been over at half time
but we’ve let Reading back into the game.

Yeh........Sharp again......3-1 to United.

Probably one of their lowest ever - don't know what they used to get at Elm Park.

Really? They regularly averaged 3,000-6,000 throughout the 80’s and 90’s. It’s only since the new stadium and the premier league they’ve started getting any fans.

Agree, I went to the old Elm Park a few times in the late 80’s and early 90’s.
Was there when a young Shaka Hislop made several stunning saves against us at Elm Park.
6,769 would be classed as a good attendance for Reading in them days.
I always used to think of them as a smallish club, similiar sized to their rivals Oxford United.
