If this is true then bloody hell, that is the definition of overpriced.

Stones should move to Manchester Untied IMO, would be a superb move for him, everything is right about it. As mentioned before, he'd learn lots with Mou, be partnered with fellow England CB Smalling, will be guaranteed frequent starts and not a million miles away from Everton either.

Lukaku, on his day, is Champions League quality. On other days, he's barely Championship quality. Reckon he'll stay at Everton.
This is what I'm afraid of.

Looks like he could be on the verge of signing a new deal for over £100k a month to become Everton's highest paid player. I thought he'd be off in the summer myself, and perhaps he still will be and this is a nice gesture from him to Everton to increase the money they will get. Except he simply isn't consistent enough for Everton to be expecting £65m+ I read they want.

It's £100000 for those rare weeks where he plays to his full potential and a tenner a week for those where he plays like a donkey.

He could earn in excess of £100400 this year, if he meets certain bonus requirements.

100k is a lot for Everton (yes I know they have a rich owner now) to shell out on a player that blows hot and cold. I'd be tempted to cash in myself

He's a microcosm of Everton himself, only showing up occasionally and looks good when he does so.

Only Aguero and Kane have scored more goals than Lukaku since his Everton debut.

U are clueless buddy.

He's decent enough but still a lazy fuck, much like the rest of your squad. Imagine what Lukaku would be capable of in a good side, when he has to up his game, especially when he moves in the summer. :shifty:

And if Lukaku could be arsed to turn up every game he'd probably have more goals than Aguero and Kane. I think that's the point.

That said his inconsistency might be the key to Everton keeping him, as on talent alone he'd be at one of the European heavy weights already.

Where next for Lukaku? The paper talk seems to be centred around a third spell at Chelsea or a second spell under Mourinho. I don't really see either happening unless Diego Costa moves on in the summer. Has Mourinho changed his mind about him? Could see him ending up at somewhere like Atletico if United go after Griezmann.

Fantastic player, would obviously take him at United, I was always baffled that Chelsea loaned him out when they were crying out for a striker like him during the Torres years. That said, it would be a shame not to see Rashford eventually given a chance to play as United's #9 when Zlatan moves on.

Another question is what Everton will do. I've read they expect £60m+ for him, but I can't see them getting that now buyers know he's not interested in signing a new deal and he has less than 24 months left on his current one. The deal they were offering wasn't about a belief that he would stay long term, it was about maximising the money they would get for him when he inevitably left in the next 2-3 windows. It would appear Lukaku has decided taking matters into his own hands will increase potential wage deals with a lessening of purchasing fee. Not unreasonably.

And yes, a great player, albeit inconsistent. But he's young and can work on that, especially when he's no longer the big fish in a small pond.

It was reported that Manchester United and Chelsea are set to battle for the signature of Lukaku. I wonder which team will likely reign victorious here.

Well if he wants to guarantee trophies that matter Chelsea.

Anyway according to the idiots on here he is shit and not worth a fiver. Obviously me and the footballing powers around the world know different.

What happens then if Arsenal join Man Utd and Chelsea in their pursuit for Lukaku?

Love the tripe coming out from pundits and journalists about him saying he should stay where he is and help Everton because he owes it to them. Just because he's showing ambition by questioning the club, they try and put the knife in.

Despite his limitations, he's too good for Everton. He was never staying there long term.
