Rovers vs Doomed Spireites

After being absolutely shafted by Ben Toner on Tuesday, we come up against a Chesterfield side which look destined for relegation. We actually lost there 3-2 in November during a 6 game away losing streak.
We're much improved since then and we can kiss our faint play-off hopes goodbye if we don't win this. 3-1 Rovers.
With Sinclair (wrongly) suspended for 2 'dives', we will probably revert to a 4-4-2, with Ollie Clarke returning in midfield after a 2 game suspension due to picking up 10 yellows.

This is the sort of game we often seem to lose, although normally away. I was at the reverse fixture and despite taking an early lead we put in a pretty poor performance and went on to lose 3-2.

Some of our worst performances have been against sides fighting to stay up, Chesterfield, Port Vale, Shrewsbury and Bury but they have all been away from home.

I guess our worst result at the Mem was losing to Barrow in the cup.

Sinclair being suspended is a blow but hopefully Ollie Clarke will come back in and continue the fine form he was showing prior to his suspension. I'm guessing we'll still be without Partington, Hartley, and Harrison. We might also be missing James Clarke if he hasn't fully recovered from his allergic reaction on Tuesday and did I hear Gaffney broke his nose?

Should be an open game as a draw is no good to either side. Having said that it will probably end 0-0.

Chesterfield really poor and 2-1 flattered them. As good as down now.
As for us, Scunthorpe losing and Millwall drawing is great, but Southend, Oxford and Rochdale winning not so. Southend have a game in hand, Millwall 3, Oxford 2 and Rochdale 3.
We can only win our games though, and I'd imagine 6 wins out of 7 will get us a playoff place, but can't see it happening myself.

We scored a goal so assuming we played better than normal. If we had more than 3 shots I'd go as far as saying it's one of our better performances.

We should have won by a lot more. Unfortunately since losing Taylor we just haven't been as clinical in front of goal. Even when we had him we should have been scoring a lot more.

Just been listenning to a few post match interviews. Had to laugh a little when Chesterfields Dan Jones said they're being punished for every mistake. That couldn't have been further from the truth because the Spireites keeper was clearly man of the match pulling off 5 or 6 top class saves including a penalty. If it wasn't for him it would have been a massacre.
