I see that the latest problems with the site have been sorted, I was going to post this on the Downtime thread but I see that has been locked, (too many negative comments?)

Must have been most of a week this time, including the transfer deadline and Superbowl. Poor form.

Surely it can be that hard to use a hosting site that won’t fall over so much?

Seriously what the heck is going on with this forum?? In the last month or so it seems to have been down more than its actually up.

It seems to me that over the past 6 months the site is crashing quite regularly, especially at weekends, why is this happening, then when it happens there is nothing on either the twitter or facebook sites to say what the problem is or an apology, come on admin pull your finger out!

that could be it, the owners are getting so much revenue from all the ads and stickies, you rarely see Tractor boy on here and as for Saddlerad, have not seen or heard a word from him for god knows how long!

The last time it went down for several days I gave the admin the benefit of the doubt. Sure, life is busy and it's completely feasible that you were away for a few days and forgot to pay the bill. However, I'm now at the point where I really don't care what the explanation is, downtime to be long and so frequent on what is supposed to be the biggest multiclub forum on the internet is a pattern and not good enough. It's completely amateur and it's clear you don't have any care or processes in place. If you don't have time or the determination to run the forum, then fine, but the least you can do is step aside and give the leadership to someone who actually wants it. At some point users will just give up and stop logging in. Couldn't find your arse with both your hands! Have a good day

The site was down for so long because TB was arguing the server costs because of the last time it went down I believe.

Still a message on the FB/Twitter group to explain this would have been nice.

I’ve read apparently he doesn’t have access to the Twitter/FB accounts or something. Can’t they be given to him.

If that is true I'm sure TB could have used the email function to send us all an email to explain? I mean I don't know of that's still an option if the site is down. He could have messaged Mark or Saddlerrad to pass on the message?

Imagine letting your cash cow football forum go down on deadline day and leaving it down for a week....

Don’t worry the advertising money and the sticky posts cash will make it all run like clockwork.

Ha, I wish.

I’m here, I log in everyday. Can always drop me a PM if you please.

So just a couple of points to clear things up.

1) The websites passwords are changed automatically for safety. Unfortunately these are never passed down to myself or Mark for whatever reason when changed. So when an issue like this last week happens, a simple ‘you need to pay the hosting moment’ - I can’t do anything, when I could have paid it myself at any time in the last week.

2) My time is being less spent on here for many reasons. 1 being a close relative with the start of dementia. The second is the layout of the land. I own 50% of this website, but don’t even have the latest hosting email password. I have no say, no sway and no access to any of the 50% my contract clearly states I should have, without asking and as for any revenue/income 50/50 split, that’s never happened. I have asked until I’m blue in the face to be kept up to date and have things split (that’s everything from passwords, to website changes) and here we are again.

I can tell you, it’s no fun to be left in the dark, unable to do anything, only to come online and be criticised about the said thing I can’t solve. Unfortunately right now, I have more pressing issues in my life to deal with.

TB is aware of these frustrations, has been for aware for a long time. Until these are resolved, I’m afraid to say, I won’t be spending more time helping out. There’s only so many times you make an effort to make amends or build bonds, just to have issues arise again a few weeks later before the cycle becomes old.

TB has a busy life and has had a rough couple of years, which in my eyes gives him lots of leeway and I don’t believe he is a bad person, but I am at the point now where my answer is just a bit of a shoulder shrug, which is a shame.

Catch you all soon.

You’ve now both basically admitted you don’t give a shit and you both have things going on in your personal lives that require more time (which is absolutely right).

Why not just jack it in? It’s not fair on both the members and people paying for advertising space. The writing is on the wall, attempts to keep this place alive seem futile.

That’s not accurate.

I’ve always had more important things going on in my life than 1FF (surely everyone has). However, that’s different from not being able to log in and pay a hosting bill to ensure things still run smoothly, which id have happily done at anytime during this last week.

I am by no means saying ‘CLOSE IT DOWN’ - more the opposite. Just that, as things are at the moment. I’m effectively a user with a red name badge, just like any other member of this forum. Which renders both myself and mark useless whenever TB isnt around.

I am absolutely at the end of the rope of making amends, coming up with forum plans or ideas, building solid foundations again with members, only for the rug to be pulled from under my feet 3 weeks later and be public enemy number 1 again. As I’m sure anyone would be in my shoes.

So the issue wasn’t the hardware going up in smoke; instead it was because someone didn’t pay the bill?

I mean seriously?

Fair enough.

I’m sure when the site went down maybe 2 or 3 times ago, TB said he had now set up automatic payment.

Nope.. Although who can blame you, you’ve been kept in the dark.

3 weeks ago, our hosting provider went down, lost data, couldn’t do back ups, went offline. Nothing we can do, totally out of our hands.

The Website then returned as normal for a couple of weeks. The payment reminder for our hosting then appeared > TB argued our hosting bill, why should we pay it when we have been down for X Period (valid arguement) - they then said pay it or you will be taken offline.

We were then taken offline for a week. I sent reminders to TB via text, websites back on today. So he was either busy, not wanting to drop the arguement or didn’t have time to sort it out.

Hi mate....read your comments & can sympathise with you re the situation. Don't know if you can answer this or not due to lack of contact between you & TB but...have you any 'any' idea if TB will make any kind of statement in here regards what has gone on ? Seems like it would be the decent thing to do.

With respect, I didn’t create, organise or play any part in delivering the Nintendo or the competition. It wasn’t my idea, I didn’t order it and I didn’t send it. So yes I understand that it’s not been forgotten, but I’m not sure what you wanted me to do about it either. But I understand why you feel that way.
