A multitude of ex-Accrington players and coaches are heading back to their old stamping ground for this one. Generally a good game between two passing sides - we've just about shaded it results-wise the past few years but not much in it.

Accrington are coming off the back of two good away results after a stuttering start to the season, and looking to push on up the table. We're having our best run of results since dropping to League 2 - suddenly, scoring goals doesn't seem to be so much of a problem with the bank of three sitting behind the striker all now settled in and impressing.

I'll go for a handy 2-1 win for Pompey to keep the pressure on Argyle.

Going by our last few games, we have better attacking options this season - Baker, Lalkovic and even Rose have all helped us going forwards.

Against Wycombe the forced introduction of Chaplin on 25 minutes seemed to improve our ability to create chances so it will be interesting to see which team Cook selects given that Main is reportedly unavailable.

My gut feeling is that we will see Smith return for Main, but I hope I'm wrong and he finally unleashes Chaplin from the start. Smith's ok but Chaplin has earned a starting place. He can terrorise defences at this level and is headed for a much bigger stage, with or without us.

I'm all for Chaplin getting game time but worry how affective he will be over 90 minutes.
setting off at 7 tomorrow hopefully the footy won't ruin the day out.

pitch was superb and played against a team that didn't park the bus today. just failed miserably. no fight no passion and poor managerial decisions. deserved win for Accy

Really wasn't much in it, a moment of magic from our youngster gave us the win. Both teams seemed to cancel each other out, pompey maybe edging the first half and accy the second.

That was some goal to win it. Well played Accy.

As for us - disappointing, but can't complain too much after winning the previous four. Need to get back on the horse next weekend.
