The 2017 Ligue 1 World Cup thread

No league is better represented at the AFCON than Ligue 1. So if you like your French football as much as I do (I know nobody does), get interested in what is one of the most boring competition to watch in the history of the universe.

I do enjoy watching Ligue 1 but this competition is absolute torture to watch. No matter how much gusto I put into watching a match, it's just bloody awful. There was probably one game that wasn't too bad 2 years ago and that was Algeria vs South Africa. That was pretty good.

Anyway. This time the competition takes place in Gabon in 4 cities which are nowhere next to one another. Gabon got a piss easy group so they should go far. The usual suspects, Ghana and Ivory Coast, should challenge as well.

Nah, seriously: Maybe I'll watch a match (or two) if it's convenient but honestly I am not that excited (not because of my first sentence ). As you stated, even with some very skilled players, in the past the Africa Cup was boring (at least for me and maybe I always catched the wrong match).

Will it be shown in Free TV in Europe, Eurosport maybe?

The AFCON is such an unpredictable tournament. So many daft results. You may as well not even play the matches as they're hardly decided by level. Just have an octopus decide all the results and it'll be just as fair. Saves time and money.

My very own Mali are drawing against the mighty Pharaohs 0-0 after 50 minutes. Fuck yeah!

So, Gabon got a third consecutive draw and is out of the tournament now. If it were the Euro, they would still be in the tournament and could even win it

It's good news for Dortmund that Gabon is out because Aubameyang comes back sooner than they expected.
