I fear our unbeaten home record may be under threat given our recent lacklustre performances. I t was around this time last season where the team capitulated from being just outside the play-offs to relegation so the doom-mongers amongst us will be out in force if we lose this one. Luton are bringing a good sized following so there should be a good atmosphere hopefully inspiring us to return to the form that got us to the top of the league.

This and the next game against Plymouth are really season defining games for us I feel. Really the next month or so is defining for us actually with us playing a number of sides who are also up and around us and we really need to be putting together a run of wins like other sides have this season so this would be a perfect opportunity for us to actually do that. Portsmouth aside our record against those sides is actually ok so cause for optimism I guess and if we are on our game I really think we are capabale, just need to do it consistently which we haven't really done at any point this season.

You would think that there would be changes from the midweek game, Justin simply has to come back in for SOD and I think he will. Cuthbert you would have also thought you would need to come back in after a rest, wouldn't surprise me if he shifted Senior to the bench and Sheehan to full back. I think Mullins/Cuthbert is the stronger partnership and you really don't want to lose Sheehans free kicks. No slight on Senior though who has done well, just think that combination is a bit stronger.

Midfield also would like to see Smith come in over D'ath. Up front is stick with Vassell and Hylton and use Palmer off the bench.

Would love to be heading to this but unfortunately family stuff has got in the way this weekend, should be a decent following from us though.

My friend's girlfriend lives in Nottingham... apparently the name of your airport is a bone of contention there.

Now the important stuff is dealt with, a Donny win would be much appreciated here, though if we can overcome Wycombe then I'd be quite happy with this match ending in a draw.

It's a bone of contention in Donny too, it's nowhere near Sheffield. As to the reference to Robin Hood for your girlfriends information historical fact states he comes from the Donny area as I recall Nottingham had a corrupt Sheriff

AGAIN... I'd take a draw here, to keep getting points on the board, also keeping our unbeaten home record is a bit confidence boost.
We need to get back to winning ways to stop the word 'bottling' being used and replace it with 'blip'
I'm going to say... Rovers win.
3-2

Point of information, she's not my girlfriend, she's my friend's... also she's not from Nottingham and couldn't really give a fuck, she just commented when I visited them about how much stuff they named after Robin Hood for the benefit of the tourists.

Apologies on the girlfriend gaff but you did say a bone of contention just thought I would give a different view.

Nottingham will have to find something else to be famous for. I'm sure they'll be fine, they have the UK's highest gun-crime, pollution, only Hooters and not one but two struggling football clubs. They don't need Robin Hood.

As the above mentioned airport was originally RAF Finningley with the longest runway in the country was actual in the county of Nottinghamshire.

Then somebody thought it would be good to move the parish of Finningley into Yorkshire, but keep the Nottinghamshire connection with the airport's name.

Yes they do, to rescue them from the mediocrity that is Nottingham (enter Errol Flynn)

Looks to be a decent crowd for once, certainly the best other than Grimsby. Hopefully we come out playing a higher tempo than we have recently

How to make friends and influence people by Danny Hylton :bg: never known any player so capable of generating anger amongst the opposition fans without even doing anything overtly wrong.

Reputation. Referees seem to see things that aren't actually there.

The game itself doesn't sound particularly lively first half.

1-1 then. Think I'd have taken it if offered at the start but having been 1-0 up a bit annoying. Important that we beat Plymouth now.

1-1 final score. Slight disappointment that we concede in the 80th minute, but a point away at the league leaders, unbeaten at home all season in the division. Restricting them to just the one shot on target. Can't have any complaints.

This game had 1-1 written all over it if you ask me. Problem is I've given up on betting.

Still, I think both sides should be happy with a point apiece. Donny stay unbeaten at home and well on their way to promotion back to L1, and Luton 'cos it leaves them still in with a decent chance of making the top 3. Problem for the Hatters is that Carlisle have taken six points out of two tough matches now, so looks like they're over that little blip they had.

Coming away a bit disappointed as I never felt like we were going to concede. The first and only time we lost concentration as players appealed for a foul on the half way line (it wasn't a foul) and we were punished. Good, disciplined performance from us defensively, some better decision making with final passes and we could have been more comfortable.

Carlisle have picked up, but we certainly have - just the 1 defeat in 10 games now in all competitions.

If we finish 4th, going to be a lot of what ifs being asked.

Sounded like a good performance from us against the best Home side in the League. Still can't quite pull off those results when we need them, but at least we gave ourselves the chance today and a draw sounded fair. Have to beat one of Carlisle or Plymouth now but we don't quite seem to have what it takes at the moment to get in that Top 3.

If we finish 4th it won't be because of this or even matches like this. It will be dropping points at home against mid and lower table opposition like Cheltenham. We have done far too much of that since we have returned to the league in all honesty.

To be fair neither side looked like scoring I really don't understand why we played head tennis for most of the match when we are far better on the floor plus why we didn't keep getting Blair forward because he had the beating of the left back on the few occasions he did. Great to see Alfie score his first for us and Gary McSheffrey finally back from injury

I thought Hilton was superb, a real pain in the arse & can back it up with his football, hadcan excellent game as did your cb number 6, fair result I'd say.

Hylton has consistently been superb, even when he doesn't score he always has an impact and Cuthbert has had a Lawlessesque turn around this season for me compared to last.

Looking at the goals the one we conceded is really disappointing, wasn't a foul in Cook certainly but he is moved off it too easily, O'Donnell nowhere and the keeper really should have saved what was a fairly weak shot. Ah well.

Also Smudger inexplicably stands still and questions the ref rather than pressing the loose ball after the tackle on Cook, made it easy for McSheff (I think it was him anyway, love that guy) to pick the pass. Smith and SO'D both clearly switched off just for a moment and were punished, annoying as we were so disciplined for the rest of the game.

Without any evidence to back it up at all, I'm guessing we have one of the best records against the top teams in the division.
