Because, you know, our transfer dealing in January weren't enough change, we're now changing our management.

One of them, Henry Newman, has left (I reckon he was told he was being demoted and was offered a lower position, he didn't accept so he left). The other, Rossi Eames, I reckon will go back to being Academy Manager or Assistant.

Kevin Nugent ( ) is being lined up to be Head Coach, apparently.

I mean... atleast you can say this season hasn't been boring?

As you say, he was only in charge for three games but he's the only manager out of the three we've had who seems to have managed to bring the best out of the players for whatever reason.o

His first game in charge was after a humiliating defeat at Swindon and won the game, followed by a 5-1 hammering of Bristol Rovers and finally a draw against Sheff Utd who were/are beating everyone. In all we scored eight and conceded two.

It's hard to judge after three games obviously but baring in mind we've only won nine games all season and he was in charge for two of them, it's not bad going.

You're not far off the play-offs so obviously have a very able side, based on what he did here (with another very able side) I'd say he's capable of maybe pushing them on.

Whenever he took charge of us, I can't say I was ever impressed. More frustrated than anything. He's wasn't afraid to deploy a defensive 4-5-1 with us.

The players put the effort in mind and were playing for him, but tactically he was lost.

We were away to Sheffield United a few years ago, 1-0 up and his tactics were appalling. We eventually drew 2-2 with three goals coming in stoppage time, the last one to salvage us a draw after our goal was hammered for the whole second half, because our team didn't know how to retain the ball on the floor.

I interviewed him a couple of years back. Struck me utterly as one of life's number twos (assistant managers, not stinky poops); an archetypal beta male. Reckon he'll be utterly lost as a full time manager.

A very strange appointment, if for the timing as much as the man himself.

Not sure why he wasn't the right man for the job 2 months ago when Allen left or 6 weeks ago when the window opened and we looked to expensively overhaul the squad.

Now he has to get on with a team that he didn't put together, with a brief of getting promoted. Not only that but he doesn't placate those that wanted an experienced name and disappoints those that wanted Rossi and Henry to be given a longer chance. No pressure then.

Good luck to him and I hope it is seen in time to be a masterstroke by the chairman but the jury is out for me.

We are all a bit confused by the titles tbh. He will definitely be in charge of the first team but some still think a head coach\manager will be appointed in the summer.

The Barnet board were stupid to change what was going so well. Nugent was always a good coach and assistant, but I've never felt he had it in him tactically to ever be a good manager.

Hope you don't go back for Allen again, I'm holding out he'll come to us for our Conference onslaught next season

Robson was screwed over by TK and PF in pre-season who gave him one of the lowest wage budgets we've ever had. When it became clear that we had ended up with a squad that would struggle in the Conference additional funds were made available to sign the likes of Stack and Oster. We were already improving before Davids came in and he was sidelined. Nugent only picked up 3 more points in his first 11 games than Robson and that was with a far stronger squad. Robson was also well respected by the players who by all accounts had plenty of time and sympathy for him.

Stimson again had a lot less to work with. His signings were poor but it's not like PF did any better with the same weak squad until MA came in to kick them up the backside.

Nugent had far more at his disposal than either of them but his PPG are comparable so I'd say he's at least on a par with Cottee who also took charge of a reasonable squad and then crashed.

Robson has to be the worst, even allowing for some mitigating factors. He chose to play a style of football that was never going to work without a seriously good budget, which was never going to be an option at Underhill.

As for Nugent, well about 4 games too late. Shouldn't have got the job in the first place come to that.

There's a decent squad there and with a couple of good acquisitions in the summer we should be challenging for at least the playoffs. Need to get this managerial appoint right. Oh, and can we piss off with the Head Coach bullshit.

Definitely the worst since Robson. We certainly weren't improving when Edgar Davids took over.
The lack of any discernible style of play and the draining of confidence from our players were the major achievements of his tenure.
