And what about the 2-0 victory over Stevenage on that fateful Tuesday night that kept our survival hopes alive?
I believe there was a late one had in the Stanley that night celebrating said win.

They were all late ones back then. That Stevenege one is certainly a game that will live long in the memory.

Another fantastic performance, its looking like the championship will be sewn up by March at this rate. It really could have been a cricket score. King Kev would have been impressed with the performance and tactics on display. Moore looked excellent, even O'Shea had a good game. Defensivley we looked solid, and to be fair to Swindon they were light years ahead of the performance shown by Crawley, Morecambe and Grimsby.

"First thing is to apologise for the performance, to apologise for the levels of performance and the unacceptable way we've conceded.

"The way we represented here is not the way I want my Bury team to represent the supporters, the board and football club. We've got to take that responsibility as a group.

"We need to take that on and understand that it won't happen and it can't happen again. It's not disappointment that I've got, it's a feeling of emptiness inside."

A quote from that idiot Flitcroft after our 6-0 defeat at Coventry. Just two weeks later we were 3-0 down inside 20 minutes at Wigan, and then two down inside twenty minutes a couple of weeks after that at Spotland. All were one sided drubbings which could have been much heavier. So Flitcroft lied, something that I, King Kev would never do. One of many reasons why I am such a better manager than that idiot.

Crewe on Sat. Normally a decent game, Crewe normally like to try and play football. We come off the back of two decentish draws and a cracking away win at Colchester. It would be great to win here.

I see Artell has named us as title contenders. This is news to me as I didn't think anyone else in this league would come close to challenging us.

This fixture brings back fond memories of the classic under King Kev. It really was an exceptional display that day, full of hard work and tactical brilliance. One of the true highlights of my time watching Bury. It was a shame Crewe got that late winner against the run of play.

Still lets put that right on Sat.

It you remember all of my charity work, and take into account that fixture was played just before Christmas, well my pre match team talk needed no speeches, I just said 'feed the fantastic Bury fans, with goals, and let them know its Christmas time.' They subsequently went out and played the best brand of Kev's winning football I have ever seen. Unfortunately for me, the players were garbage so were unable to finish and as you say, Crewe won it late on. As I walked off the pitch I remember spotting you Howard with the Mambo dwarf and you asked if I fancied a pint. I brushed down my suit and left GR for a cheeky beverage. Unfortunately the police had closed all the pubs near the ground so I couldn't have a beer with my fans.

Well well well! The champions elect really are starting to motor now. The game yesterday was one where a few years ago we would have lost 1-0 against a bullying, time wasting anti football entity like Stevenage. It is really a testament to the team that they kept the patience, kept playing the football and came out comfortable winners.

I make that just 2 defeats since the start of September, those been narrow 1-0 defeats against Carlisle and Port Vale, 2 games we played pretty well in. Still paying for our slow start with our league position, however the league is that tight at the top we are only 3 points off 3rd. If we carry on like this the league could be sewn up by the end of February.

Up the Shakers.

I don't know, according to the recently departed Harry Kewell we are not a very good side.
The strange thing is the Stevenage Anti-manager seems to agree, it's all the refs fault his thugs didn't win!!

Funny how managers come to Bury hell bent on stopping us playing and when they can't by fair means or more than likely foul ways it's because of the Referee.

Dino Maamria ( Stevenage gaffer) says Danny Mayor is 'probably' the best player in L2 ... only probably ?

All those in line say was not even a foul
We would though wouldn't we!!

It was not a foul and the challenge did not warrant their player rolling around like he had been shot.

Onto Cambridge on Sat. This brings back sad memories as I believe they knocked us out of the cup a few years ago shortly after King Kevs departure, one thing is for sure it wouldn't have happened under his watch. I did witness a win there under the Synergy ****, Cameron and Soares I think scored the goals. Our home win last time out means that a point from this fixture would be acceptable. With 16 goals in our last 4 games (all comps) I fear that we will be due one of those days again soon ... although you could argue we wasted enough chances to last a decade, never mind a season at Port Vale.

2 points dropped yesterday, disappointing, but in all honesty a point away at an improving Cambridge is hardly the end of the world. The league remains incredibly tight, did any of the top 7 win? Need 3 points on Tuesday now. A repeat of recent home performances should see us achieve that … if only football was that simple!

Went for a draw this weekend but suspect a reaction will see us win on Tuesday

Lowey did not appear happy with the dropped points, I am hoping we will see the reaction tomorrow. The irritating thing was that if Maynard bags that chance that nine times out of ten he would, then it is game, set and match. Ah well we move on.
Win tomorrow and then a big game with Luton next Sunday. I'd take the dropped points here if it means we get to the 3rd round of the cup.

Try not to come to any odd conclusions such as criticising our 4-4-2 formation or declaring Maynard isn't putting any effort in now he has a new contract.

Good win for our bunch of arrogant diving cheats last night. Long may it continue.

No mention of arrogance and diving by the Cheltenham manager last night, in fact it is probably the best assessment of the game I've heard from an opposition manager for quite some time.
No sour grapes and he took the defeat on the chin. Fair play to Michael Duff for that.

The fourth goal was a joy to watch!

The Luton match on Sunday should be a belter and anyone going for a scoop or three in town over the weekend should try and cajole any friends of a Red or Blue leaning to come to Gigg and have a look at us.

Got City supporting Alex on board.

A great 4-1 win though the performance was the second worst I have seen this season (Crawley away winning that one at the minute). It was good to see our incisiveness in what could have been a tight game (that hasn't been our strong point so far this season). It was a result to match the magnificent King Kev Premier League masterclass from a few years ago where despite a ridiculous own goal the master tactician saw us home with a well thought out gameplan. Whilst last night does not live up to those high standards it is good to see that some of the spirit of the king remains in the club.

Wouldn't it be great if I was invited to Bury as guest of honour on Sunday considering I saved both Bury and Luton from going bust.
