Getting down to the nitty-gritty now. Three quarters of the way through, just 8 more rounds to go including the playoffs, and it's hotting up, with the highest average score of the season.

Walkley Owl extends his run to 7 weeks at the summit as he breaks 600 and, quite remarkably given how long he's spent there, this is the greatest margin he's led by all game. JustinQPR nudges past Rammy into the top 2 for his third round and the first time since R16, while Veggie Legs bounces back with the high score, moving into his own on 3 for the season, as he moves ahead of Nilsson.

The next 5 all remain as you were, while JaseTheVillain is now on the fringes of the top 10 as he continues his strong second half of the season, and Madejski and Dirk also move up 3 places. epic73 like Veggie Legs also moving into his own, but in his case for the wrong reasons with his 4th low score, Luke_1884 is up 2 places to 19th and roversfan2001 is clawing back the ground on those above him as he achieves his joint-highest score so far along with a maiden correct score prediction.

Haillay7's missed round is costly as he now faces a mammoth task to overturn the deficit and overcome Walkley Owl. I thought it was destined he and bitter rival JaseTheVillain were going to face off in the final but it now looks as if that's not going to be. The other 3 ties are all closely contested and all at the high standard to be expected at this stage of the competition, but it's JaseTheVillain, Veggie Legs and JJH who hold narrow advantages going into the 2nd leg.
