Captain Scumbag Unless I'm going mad (quite conceivable, admittedly) I'm sure you responded to my post on Saturday. I imagine you made it disappear but just to clarify - when I referred to "direct democracy" it was really the Lib Dem push for a second referendum on the terms of Brexit I had in mind rather than parliament approving Article 50 (very much my fault for failing to make this clear). I think the two things are very much interlinked so far as the Lib Dems are concerned, anyway i.e. the official stance, so far as I'm aware, is that their MPs will oppose A50 in the Commons unless there's a promise of a second referendum. Given that the Prime Minister has given little indication as to what Brexit might look like, and given that the Lib Dems gave their backing to a referendum on EU membership in the first instance this demand seems pretty reasonable and coherent to me, irrespective of whatever nefarious Europhile motives one might wish to ascribe to them. Think this is basically what I was trying to articulate.

You've not gone mad. I deleted my post – partly because it was lazy regurgitation of points I've made dozens of times before, but mostly because I just can't be arsed debating this stuff anymore. Not your fault. Just fed up with politics. Fed up with a lot of stuff, TBH. Adios.

I imagine working in & around May is an absolute nightmare. Authoritarian dour shitness. I'd much rather work for Cam.

More empty rhetoric from the PM. When will we actually see any meaningful policies that achieve this? Is she just paving the way for tax cuts? Think that might be a problem given the problems with the NHS right now.

Opposing the pedestrianisation of Norwich city centre!!!!
She's a genuine gilf.
She? I'm still not convinced it's a woman and not a man in drag.

I see the Red Cross are having to intervene and help out where the NHS is failing.

The Conservatives - Fucking our NHS up since 1948.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Trump: Ban muslims. Build the wall. Silence scientists. Send the army into US Cities. Use torture.

May: We can lead the world together.

Trump Aide: 'So, today is Holocaust Memorial Day, where we remember the senseless slaughter of millions, many of whom had been denied refuge in the USA under a wave of nationalistic 'America First' pressure because they were the wrong religion.'

Trump: 'Oh yeah, that reminds me. Ban all Muslims (from countries where I don't have business interests). Get that done today.'

May: 'Can I hold your hand?'

And she's about to enter trade talks with the kindly Erdogan of Turkish Purge infamy. That seems very silly to me since they're definitely joining the EU in a few days anyway.

Theresa May's Tour of Tyrants.

These are the people we need to cosy up to because someone got a bit uncomfortable overhearing Polish in Greggs.

In normal times, you’d say everything went swimmingly. Sure, the American president seemed a tad unsure how to say the name of his guest – whom he greeted as Ter-raiser – slightly reinforcing the White House’s earlier failure, in a briefing note, to spell the British prime minister’s name correctly, dropping the “h” and thereby suggesting Donald Trump was about to receive Teresa May, who made her name as a porn star.

Ter-raiser- Hellraiser

(and I just googled "Teresa May" :eyes:......:D )
