Now is an excellent time to bring up that if McGeady hadn't scored the equaliser in the 93rd minute, Rovers would have stayed up :fl:

Nothing to do with the other 45 games, nope. Definitely just that game that decided it...

Laughable attempt at trying to be rivals. We don't care about Preston. Also, we dropped 26 points from winning positions this season, that 2 against you didn't send us down.

That's nice of you to point that out. Unfortunately for you we're still a Championship club til next month. :animatedf::2thumb:
Bet if you had gone up, you would be a Premier League club though. If we go up 29th May we will instantly be a PL club in my opinion.
That we I can say it for at least nearly 12 months rather than the 9 months it may last.

That doesn't really add up though, because if you didn't lose those two points in the last minute, you would have stayed up...

Could equally say that our 94th minute equaliser against Fulham the game before that cancels it out. We were relegated over 46 games, not 1 game in March.

The point is if that last minute PNE goal didn't happen you'd still be a Championship club. You can wrap it up how you like but those points you dropped in that game have decided your fate.

Were the other 45 games irrelevant then? Try to blame it on one game all you like, the fact is we didn't gain enough points or score enough goals to stay in the division. If there's one game that sticks in the memory it's Cardiff away, Duffy 2 own goals and a red card. A cynic would say that wasn't just bad luck...

Cardiff was one of your first games of the season wasn't it? Preston at home you were in the bottom 3 (I think?) and needed to win. Ultimately the last minute equaliser cost you when it mattered the most.

Doesn't matter how Blackburn went down, funny regardless.

Agree with what you're saying, but let's say, Preston put one of the last nails in the coffin.

As an innocent bystander it really looks like PNE deserve full credit for inflicting Blackburn on the good folks of L1.

Preston North End’s proposal for a Premier League quality training complex and hundreds of new homes being built on a former golf course looks set to go ahead.

Looking promising.

Approved the training ground but not the houses that came with it. No houses, no training ground as that’s what was funding the training ground. This is despite the council planners recommending it all for approval, the council leader can’t believe it was rejected and neither can Prestons MP who normally stays out of council matters. Next steps being discussed but the club have now effectively cut ties with the council with the statement they have put out. An appeal is highly likely tbh and i think we’d win it due to the planners recommending for approval. Also there is a semi-organised fan movement to try and put pressure on.

The land this is on is a closed golf course. The owner of the land, who owns us, as part of the plans was willing to donate a large chunk of the land to the council as a park for local residents.

Those pictures looked good as well. Big blow for PNE that.

It'll go through without the housing, which is the perfect result for me living so close.

It is ridiculous though, the amount of housing that has gone up around this area over the last 18 months is astounding and none of those are giving anything back to the city, whereas this came with a massive public park, completely free of charge.

Hemmings is a sneaky bastard though, he's tried to get houses built on there 3 times in the past and been rejected every single time, so this time he tried to use the football club to push it through. It's only £14 million to build apparently so it's not like he can't fucking afford it.

People have actually contacted the councillors that voted and it honestly seems personal why they rejected it. They seem to have an issue with hemmings.

They have an issue with the fact that he has tried multiple times to push this housing through and now he is hiding behind the football club's fanbase to do it. If he really cares about the training ground then he'll fund it himself but he won't because it doesn't come with the £45 million profit attached.

Resubmitted the plans with less houses and more public space being donated to the city, which will be developed and maintained by PNE. So a public park that costs the council nothing.
