Tinpot trophies count IMO. Who can forget our glorious win over Mansfield on our way to win the EFL Trophy?

I had to actually look that up, we did lose to you at home too

38-38 between Grimsby and Lincoln in the Lincolnshire Senior Cup. Will pre-season 2018/19 finally be the year we get to see them battle it out in the final for that coveted 39th trophy?

Got to be the only cup competition in the world where, up until a few years back, you could get a bye to the final.

Went to one that you won a few seasons ago, you brought a good amount of fans. Was a good game as a far as I can remember.

I've decided I'm taking it extremely seriously this year.

Is it the same with all the county cups in that you kind of don't want to win it, because you will get laughed at for celebrating? Or is that just ours?

Ours county cup didn't even feature the professional 3 teams, and was a non-league affair.

I wonder what Derby will do now, given they're the only Derbyshire side in the league

I remember the county cup when it was basically Notts vs Stags in the semi final, Notts would win get to final and lose to Forest!

And repeat! Lol

Hardly surprising (back then)

Or more importantly, will Scunthorpe bother their arse to enter the competition this year or throw their toys out the pram again?

Will the Lincs FA arrange the final for a Thursday night in September between Saturday league games?

Will the Lincs FA threaten to fine participants for fielding weakened sides?

Will they also insist on trialists being given one game contracts because if's effectively a competitive match?

So many questions.

Well Grimsby and Scunthorpe can bugger off to another lesser thread.

The season we went up to the top flight we won 2-1, I remember it well as it was before we went to Wembley v Brighton and I’d done a Notts flag from a bedsheet and I’d put all the seasons scores on (I was 15).

The Forest fans were impressed as some spotted it from the away end and spoke to me and my dad about it on the way home.

Was at Trent Bridge on Sunday watching Notts lose for once in the cricket, and a family of notts fans in shirts and the lot decided to put themselves infront of us. Had a leisurely chat in the sun and shared ciders, was very unlike the football!

Hold on, I reckon everyone in this thread would be a Notts fan for the cricket.

Finally, we have something in common.

are you from Nottinghamshire originally? I’ve always found it strange that folk would support a county that they don’t come from. Though it would make sense that Lincolnshire is a “minor” county

I originate from about a mile over the Notts/Lincs border near Newark, so I'm quite happy to follow a football team and cricket team from opposite sides of the line. Spent a few happy years at Trent Uni as well.
Did a T20, Notts/Yorks, with a dozen Yorkies a while back. Very nice to be the only one happy with the result.

After DF came in, at least I was used to my side not winning at home!
