Anyone tried the new Oreo varieties? The golden one is surprisingly good, mint one isn't bad. But I'm really keen to try the strawberry flavour.

Golden ones are delightful but not a fan of the original

Had a pack of twenty meatballs in the fridge so I decided to cook ten of them. I placed them onto the tray in a nice 4-3-3 formation with one of the meatballs being entrusted with the holding role.

Anyone recommended something tasty, light, but will fill you up at night, as I'm trying to lose weight (again!) and get the munchies through the night, usually ending up undoing my good work through the day.

Just go to bed when you feel hungry

Tonight I made a lemon and white wine sauce to drizzle over a chicken breast with baby potatoes and kale.

There really isn't anything wrong with late snacking unless the snacks exceed your 2500 cals. I work evenings so I often have tea at around midnight and sleep not long after. This latent calories thing and not eating late is a load of shite, just don't exceed your RDI and you'll lose weight. If you want to eat something high in calories go for a long walk or some basic excersie.

If you're really looking to lose weight keep your carbs down as they're often high in calories, and do daily excersise. Swimming is great.

I'm exercising 4 times a week currently and will extend that to 5 times soon, and basically yes I have been averaging around 1500 cals a day the last few months so it is shifting the weight, it's just some nights I go on a bit of a food bender! :D

Nothing wrong with having benders as long as you're being good overall. I'd say it's better for you mentally.

Yeah I know and get back stuck into it if I've had a heavy night but I do have a lot of weight to shift so the less I indulge the better.

I've been eating shite for 25 years now so have decided to get fitter as I turn middle age the next few years. Still love my grub, just got to be more disciplined than I have been.

I went to a farmers market (a massive novelty for someone from/in London) and picked up some wild mushrooms so made a chicken and mushroom risotto with white wine and parsley. Needless to say, I had the last laugh.

Don't normally have a lunch but today I had a largish bowl of thick, home made lentil and a couple of slices of bread so a couple of pasties with beans will do for tea....getting a tad hungry now.

I'm supposed to be having a chinese meal & vegetable spring rolls from Morrisons for tea tonight, however the wife has been making wee sausage rolls and a bloody pile of them are lying on trays in the kitchen....I have been tempted & no doubt will further. Tea may be delayed......

Tonight I am having small pieces of chicken coated with the finest breadcrumbs, potatoes sliced into French-style slivers and lovingly sprinkled with a mouthwatering seasoning, and baked haricot beans smothered in a wonderfully rich tomato sauce.

I don't know what your occupation is Steven but I was watching a programme recently about how eateries menus are worded to entice the customer into buying their fare......I believe that you have a future in front of you in that sphere mate.

However, enough about bumming you up...........I went back to my childhood tonight and had a tin of meatballs in tomato sauce with 3 slices of toast...fucking tasty it was!

So, in other words, chicken nuggets, chips and baked beans. Though your version of events sounds nicer, I'll grant you.

Also, for the record... Battered >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Breaded.

The missus has been doing overtime in the kitchen this afternoon whilst I had the harder job of watching the scores coming in on SSN........

Anyways, a chicken casserole (six chicken thighs) has been rustled up in left in a large pot for tomorrow's and Mondays dinner. A huge pot of home made lentil soup was also made and I will have a bowl of that with a couple of slices of buttered bread for tomorrow's breakfast.....the rest has been boxed and will be stuck in the freezer. Mmm mmmm!
