Expecting a couple of changes for Pools as some of our injured players return to the squad.

Can't see us stringing back to back wins together, but I think we will be up for this one. Thomas to either get sent off or score the winner.

I'll go 1-1. Thomas sent off for diving after a Mansfield fan tries a slide tackle on him as he peals away from the Rink End after setting the first goal up. Amond for us. That lad who Carlisle are going to sign will score for Mansfield.

Mansfield are fairly high up the league table so we might ask him not to score, so that when he signs for us in January we're in a better position.

You not have to ask if we go with 1 up front again. We are alright away from home unless we are playing one of the top teams so I'm hoping that continues and Murray is just playing some mind games and the injury list isn't as bad as we fear.

Not sure what Hartlepool are like but Thomas will be up for this again and I think Bennett may have to earn his wages this week. One things for sure is he is much better than the lad we had at RB last season.

Where's the best place to drink Poolie fans? In the past I've been in the Spoons and it's full of idiots and the bowling club where the beer is toss.

The whole town centre is full of rarfs on a matchday, wouldn't waste your time with any of them, Mill House or Corner Flag right next to the away end is your best bet for a divvy free drink.

As for the game who fucking knows with our mob, Thomas will have his pecker up no doubt, but our defence still looks ropey, score draw or we'll get an arse whooping.

We'll do well to win this. Murray has turned Mansfield into a decent L2 side and while I have no doubts that we are well-capable of beating them, you just never know what you're going to get with our lot.

I'd be happy with a draw and I think that's what it'll be.

As for drinks, Mill House is the best option near the ground. The Rat Race at the station is good for ales. If you want okayish food, there's places down the Marina

The Rat Race is on the station platform and it has no lager ..... like most I'd recommend the Mill House ...decent beer , Sky and 50 yards from the away entrance .... if yer drinking and good natured you'll get no bother ....the corner flag is like a social club without windows but loads of memerobilia scattered about , so that may be of interest ....in between them is the Bowls Club , again windowless but has big tables if there are a few of you and you want to spread out

I'll try the Millhouse. Think Murphy once mentioned it in the box too?

I have no idea what to expect on the game. Hopefully you are shit and fail to turn up. Murray could do with 3 points and we need to score a goal for a change or the mongs will be out in force to start a 'Murray out' campaign. Thankfully most don't travel away and those that do like to get behind the side!

I'm going to predict 2-1 to Mansfield.

I love how on the rat race website they have an entire page category called 'Apologies' along with the usual ones you'd expect like Beers, Opening Hours, Contact Us etc. They are apologising to you before you've even got there :lol:

They are trying to put off the riff - raff ......away fans on the whole are lucky in Hartlepool , train station and a dozen pubs all within a 5 minute walk to the ground ....if only trains went there !

Terrific pub, especially on a Saturday. They used to reduce pints down to £2.50 at the weekend, plus they have a jukebox and TV for the early game whoever it is tomorrow. Stones throw from the ground as well.

Think the Spoons is the Ward Jackson from memory? Not bad either.

You didn't look like scoring all game, one chance at the end well saved by Carson, that was it, never in it at any point.

Pretty crap game to be honest, nowt happened first half, not much more happened in the second, Billy missed a sitter, I'd of put me house on him finishing it, gonna have to see the disallowed goal again, not sure how Thomas was offside when he scored?

We looked a lot better in midfield with Laurent/Featherstone/Hawkins, Thomas was quiet, probably trying to hard to get one over Mansfield.

Sounded like he came for a point and quote easily got one, while also showing no ambition at all.

Its all gone and well away, he's got to start doing it at home now

It's the first time we kept a clean sheet all season .....more to do with Mansfield than us .... if that goal is found to be correctly disallowed then the officials will have eyes like hawks ....its amazing they can officiate to an extremely high level when it suits them ....

We are fucking gash. I will stand by that all season until Murray shows abit of positivity. Hartlepool, No offence were shit and we had one shot on target.

What's scary is that we've only played 2 decent sides in Plymouth and orient(though we did win there). The rest aren't going to be Upto much.

Its evident we'll easily fall into the latter catergory with this boring boring boring style of play

Very disappointed with a point on Saturday. Mansfield were there for the taking. We just aren't good enough to break teams down who come and stick 11 behind the ball. Saying that, we did miss 2 very good chances and have one wrongly ruled out for offside. There were 2 Mansfield players on the goal line, plus the keeper, so god knows how the Linesman thought Thomas was offside.

Surprisingly the two most calamitous centre halfs in the league had pretty good games, although probably more down to the fact Mansfield rarely threatened to attack. Midfield looked a lot more organised and solid with Laurent and Hawkins in there, and the Defence as a whole coped easily when Mansfield pushed over the half way line.

Again though, everything broke down when the ball went anywhere near Paynter. He's seen as some sort of God with our fans for some reason, despite offering the square root of nothing to the game. Well, he scores every now and again, can put a penalty in the back of the net, but nothing else. I dare say we would've won if Amond got the full game instead of Billy. We can pass it around all day, create openings, pull their midfield around, but having a statue upfront will win you nothing.

Not entirely sure why Mansfield came for a 0-0 draw when it's obvious how easy it is to score against us either. Strange tactics.

Tell me the Mill House delivered, Richard Cranium

It did indeed. I think, Didn't make the game any better though like 10 pints usually does.

PoolieTom, I'd be dissapointed if I were a home fan Saturday, If any of your players could finish you'd of been out of site in the first half. We played with 4 at the back and 2 midfielders sat infront of the back 4. I'm fed up of paying the sort of money we do to go and watch shit negative football. Why is it the only way anyone knows anymore? Fair enough a clean sheet away from home and it will be viewed as a good point but we created one chance in the whole 90 minutes. We won't be troubling the top 7 this season.

It was one of the dullest games of football I've seen in a while. Was expecting a lot more from your lot I must admit, but we made the game no more exciting. Yes if we could finish we may have scored a couple of goals, but that's what you get leaving a natural finisher on the bench and replacing him with a statue.

Disappointed, yes. On the whole though, it was our first clean sheet, we looked harder to break down and much more solid in midfield. Hopefully that was down to us rather than Mansfield. Replace Paynter with one of the three strikers sat on the bench and we will look a lot more dangerous. Can definitely see why we are getting more points away from home though, as teams actually venture out of their half when they are at home, and it plays to our strengths.

Time wasting from the 46th minute, coupled with a whistle happy ref and lots of injuries second half made the whole affair stop-start, and it spoiled the game really. Expected a few more fans too - any reason it was so low?

Pretty well surmised PoolieTom but I really don't agree here (I guess that makes me a Paynter worshipper?) I think we look like a stronger team with Paynter up top rather than Amond. I suppose it depends what you look for in a striker, if you think someone who runs around a lot is doing a good job up front then Amond is your man I guess? I don't think Amond is a bad player by any stretch but I definitely expected more from someone who scored for fun last year (even though Non League)

Did you copy and paste this from the England Euro 2016 section and just change Kane for Paynter!

He just looks a completely different player this season - and he started to show the signs last year. Defenders are finding it too easy against him. He is getting out fought every week, and so has resorted to taking a tumble to the floor whenever the ball is near him. He's doing his very best Steve Howard impersonation at the minute.

Personally, I would rather see Amond running in the channels and pulling their defenders around and creating space. Much easier for defenders to keep track of someone who just stands still. Alessandra yesterday showed a few times how to get your body in between the ball and defender - Paynter could take some tips from him.
