Just to add a neutrals perspective, I've always seen Preston as a bigger club than Blackpool. Not that anyone really gives a shit, no offense.
Aye and no one gives a shite what a Yorkshireman has to say in the LANCASHIRE thread either. Make your own thread.

I'd rather talk to Lancys than Rotherham and Donny fans.

This is as good a place as any to post this - David Flitcroft, ex Bury manager been appointed Swindon manager. Lets have your thoughts Bury fans please.

Cheers.

Good question. Seems like someone at the BBC has put 2 and 2 together and come up with giraffe.

I'm happier with Flitcroft over Sheringham personally. I think he seems to know what to do in League 2.

Will start out lake a fucking express train, you will br drooling over the football played.
Then his ego will get in the way, goalkeepers (the one you have now better apply for another job) will be rotated match by match. ALL players will be asked to play in weird positions coz he likes ballers who can move about. he will start to talk utter bollocks and you will be wondering what fucking language he's speaking, your season will fall apart.

Play offs at least for Swindon. Good appointment by them. Probably be in for 2/3 Bury players to.

We have a very successful youth academy, and put more faith into it than Rochdale. 3 youth players in the first team and we've made well over £1M in youth player transfers over the last 12 months. Again, do some research before making ignorant statements.

How easy is it to 'get a proper manager' too? They don't come cheap, nor are they readily available.

Of course this is Bury, the club seemingly not allowed to sign league one standard players :ffs:

A Wigan fan commenting on business and fanbases, I have heard it all now

He may mention that he has a passion for bringing kids into the first team and blooding them. It is a complete and utter fantasy.

To build on Keith's post, he played some good stuff on arrival and did get us promoted in his first full season. 2015/2016 was a joke however and this one much worse. Under his tenure not a single yts lad broke through despite Flitcroft's stupid claims to the contrary. The only time when young lads broke into our team was after Flitcroft left.
On this topic though, you may see your talented youth players loaned to the Norwegian none league however. Injuries will go through the window, player's confidence the opposite direction in time. Don't be surpised to hear him say that Swindon aspire to be like Cambridge next season.

He spent three years at Bury, the end of each season saw increased, record breaking losses, all to take us to 19th in league one, something he seemed to herald as a genuine success. Had it not been for Lee Clark and to a lesser extent Brass, it would have resulted in us being back in league two next season.

I could rant all day but you have enough to think about now.

Thanks for the comments. As always will give the new man a chance and a clean slate but of course hope that history doesn't repeat itself based on what you have said!

Worth adding, whilst we are making some strong signings and as ever a fair number of fans are asking questions, we have also released 21 players since March. Many of them reputed to be big earners, it will have freed up alot of cash which Clark appears to be spending wisely building a much more balanced but smaller squad.

Terrible news this morning. Gordon has been part of the club longer than I've been alive. Always happy to chat Latics, or return your wave, on the way to an away game. A nicer man you couldn't meet.

The club have done brilliantly over the last couple of days, they've put all sorts of tributes to him up on the official site, which have been flooding in from far and wide..

Pretty horrible news about Sam Oyston today. Met him a couple of times and he's a total thundercunt but don't wish that on anybody. Hope he gets well soon.

The first Lancashire tie of the season goes to Wigan v Bury, followed the week after by El Latico. A great early chance to soar clear at the top of the Lancashire league table.

How shit are James Tavernier and Rob Kiernan? some Scottish tabloid has linked us to them.

Tavernier moderately, but Grayson could work his magic I guess. Kiernan extremely, he's a lost cause and mid table League One at best.

Hoping its just tabloid talk.

These are signings i'd expect us to make if we were aiming to get in the top 6 of this league, not the one above.

Must be some kind of record for local derbies!

And that is without Bolton, Burnley, Preston and Accrington..
