Accurate update on the AFC table there Seventyseven . Now that we know it's broken house rules, results are expunged and the league withdrawn. Might break some hearts but you've gotta be cruel to be kind.

Just realised, the AFC Brotherhood League is obsolete as it goes against B2TMeth's rules of the no competition between "brothers"

Quite simply their league is null & void.
Absolutely right. The Brotherhood is not a competition. NOW you understand the theory, let's see if you can apply your new knowledge to real life situations. Go Brother, I'm rooting for ya.:db:

*I'm shite at maths so the REAL table might need some rejigging. As for the 'AFC' table... I just really couldn't be arsed. Plus, some of us have work to do.

Edited to add: Left Darlington off because Quakerz gets on my tits
Wow your job must be even more boring and monotonous than mine to have time to knock those tables up, bloody good ones they are though although poor old Brother Stockport have been robbed of a bonus point. :lac:

I think Vanni has done a wonderful job working out the results and the table.

But....

....he got it so wrong. So, being one of those people (aka lazy fucker) who would rather make up football tables than do some actual work whilst being paid to work, I have made a few alterations and herewith present you with the correct format for the table(s)*

Bullshit. By your own definitions you are a phoenix club and in no way different to Chester, Darlington, Hereford, Halifax, etc.

Sorry chum(p), you made the rules. :bdick:
No, we aren't a phoenix club like Chester, Hereford and Halifax (and Aldershot and Newport etc), because they went bust and we didn't.

I have nothing against phoenix clubs by the way, and do consider them as a continuation of their previous incarnations - as it's the same fans from the old club carrying the new incarnation on.

Given that, I actually would have preferred us to have just shut the whole thing down and started again fresh, but the people in charge of saving the club spent a lot of time, effort and money (unwisely, I thought) in getting us out of administration and continuing the club as a going concern.

It really stuck in my craw that the FA "treated" us as a new club after all of that, and made us play in the Northern League - so we ended up with paltry Northern League income yet at the same time were committed to paying off over 100k of national league player wages owed from administration, and also committed to paying 50% of any transfer clauses received (from Dan Burn and Michael Smith) to our creditors (the main creditor being Radged Strings).

What happened to us after saving our club (again) was horrific and definitely a fate worse than going bust, because we ended up with the worst of both worlds - the playing liabilities and part of the business creditors of Darlington FC to pay, and the stigma of the FA treating us a new club.

We should have just canned the whole thing like many others did, and we would have been viewed no differently by fans of other clubs as we are today - that we're a new club - and at least then it'd be true.

However to lump us in with those clubs who were failed to be saved is technically incorrect.

And will continue to do so no doubt.

I'm not actually here to try and gain acceptance into any "proper club" table - I'm just here to quash the "new club" thing, simple as that.

End of the day, we know we're "Darlo", everyone the length and breadth of the country identify with and nickname us "Darlo" - that's never changed.

Got to laugh at all this desperate digging from the tinpotters.

If we’re going back to what happened in about 1896, Wiki says that the likes of Norwich and Huddersfield are to be filed alongside the likes of AFC Halifax 2008

Yep, like AFC Halifax Town 2008 are identified by everyone as the Shaymen.

No. The Shaymen is the equivalent of The Quakers, or The Red Dragons or whatever nickname you have.

When people are looking at their upcoming fixtures, they don't say "Anyone going to The Shaymen? Anyone going to whatever Wrexham's nickname is? Anyone going to the Quakers?" They don't say that. (Well, maybe they do in Wales, I dunno)

But they do say "Darlo". Nearly everyone does. It's in the collective conciousness. Even though "apparently" we went bust. They still do. Even though we are in a pipsqueak regional league. They still do.

"You going to Darlo? Yep." "We play Darlo next". Etc etc

Accept this reality.

Strangely, it's not... I quite enjoy my job. Laying up articles on 'Genomic medicine: cracking genomes to cure incurable’ diseases' by the esteemed author Pushpanathan Muthuirulan keeps me entertained for hours on end.

ps: I'll update the table to make sure that REAL Brother Stockport aren't robbed of that solitary bonus point - could make all the difference to the table come the end of the season.

And, just to add, for AFC Brother Quackerz... I've never called it 'Darlo', no-one south of the Midland divide has ever called it 'Darlo'... just simply Darlington from the Grim North.

Have a lovely day all... I've now got to work on a Whitepaper by NanoTemper Technologies covering the exciting topic of 'Faster and more reliable quantification of oligonucleotide interaction with human serum albumin with MST'... who says work can't be fun!

And Middlesbrough in 1986.

But where do you draw the line on going bust counting? 5 years ago? 10 years? 50 years? I take it that 100 years doesn't count anyway?

Just curious!

It’s a new club though init.
Hey if you want to incorrectly name it as a new club I can't do anything about it.

But ultimately when we play you again, or Darlo come up in conversation, and you think of us as "Darlo" - then that will do for me.

Utterly incorrect.

Maybe when you get to the south western corner it may be so, but you're so far removed from us, and reality, that it doesn't matter :bye:

I’m only messing.

I do think of it as Darlo actually. But when you have a new name, a different ground, starting from scratch in a new division 10 levels down it’s hard to say it’s the same club.

Completely understand where you are coming from, and how it may seem.

The playing name was enforced (and is now Darlington again, thakfully), but technically we didn't start from scratch, which is my bone of contention.

Anyhow, proper club or tinpot, I have a lot of respect for clubs like Wrexham, Chesterfield, Halifax, Aldershot, Notts County, Stockport, Torquay, even Hartlepool our rivals. All fighting a battle to get back into the league, which is what their town deserves - and are scuppered year on year by made up, bankrolled hobby club village sides.

I'm sure we can nearly all agree on the injustice of it all.

Still Darlo down here.

Seventy Seven followed the money to the god awful south east rather than living in poverty in the glorious south west with the rest of us yokels so things may be different in posh areas like Kent :dk:

Utterly correct Jerry. Apart from one thing, I've never called it 'Darlo' not even when I was growing up in the 'Bay. Never have. Never will. It will always be plain ol' 'Darlington from the Grim North'

Gotta go my chauffeur's waiting.

Sorry, i didn't make these rules.
U stupid or wot mate? :dk:

It doesn't take a genius to see that the other side, the Real Bro gang, is well ahead of us in terms of membership numbers so we must welcome anybody willing to join us with open arms, and not scare them away like you're doing!

Welcome aboard brother Quakerz.

If this is the old Quakerz from TFF, then he is 100% correct in what he is saying.

If it isn't the old Quakerz, I have no fucking idea about Darlington, so don't ask me.

We'd have a meeting amongst brothers if Darlington got promoted and decide from there. Fortunately it will never happen.

And Bristol City in 1982, and Bradford City around the same time. Oh and Wrexham in 1884.:ds:

Just read through this entire thread and it is clear there is a power struggle deep in the heart and at the top of the brotherhood. Can someone enlighten me where we at? May I request an emergency board meeting?
