He has been one of our best players generally along with Amrabat.

Doubt playing alongside an error prone Kaboul (who before the game was moaning about Spurs selling him etc) and returning Cathcart helped.

We failed to score against Swansea and Sunderland whilst only getting an OG against Hull which shows what our attack has been like since the opening weeks of the season.

Prodl needs to go.

He has been one of our best players generally!

He played many years at Werder Bremen and was a very solid defender (unfortunately). Haven't seen him enough at Watford (maybe 2 or 3-times) but if he played nearly at the same level like in Bremen then he should be good enough for Watford, too.

Deeney looks off the pace this year. Don't know what's wrong with him, but he seems to be reacting far too slowly to chances, and his first touch has abandoned him.

He was very poor against Spurs, several goals where he needed to mark someone and didn't.

I just don't think you can change manager every year or two, and expect to continue to improve year on year. Southampton were the exception to this rule but Puel seems incredibly unpopular with their fans right now because he will never top where Koeman got them, bar significant spending.

It's more to do with the football on show.

Palace should be looking over their shoulder these days. Hull have now got a seemingly good manager in. If they can get a few players into the squad this month, they suddenly don't look a certainty for relegation.
It's going to break Paul Merson's heart if Marco Silva's Hull stay up and Big Sam's Palace go down.

Sunderland had a midfield trio of Denayer, Larsson and Rodwell today. Keep that up and they're dead certs for the drop.

The difference between Hull when we smashed 6 past them and Hull yesterday is cavernous. As long as they keep Snodgrass (he's pivotal) and Hernandez, I don't think Hull will go down. With those, Hull have the creativity and goals most relegated sides lack. A new manager has visibly lifted their confidence 10 fold.

They have improved markedly, but their next four games are against Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal. Three of them away. It isn't going to get any easier for them. Those two cup games could take their toll as well.

The bottom of the table is setting up nicely with a 5-point gap seperating the bottom 6 (who are only seperated by 2 points!) and the rest of the league.

The bottom 4 have gained a couple of points: Sunderland got 4 points from 6 while Hull and Swansea have been rejuvenated under their new managers.

This better form has sucked Leicester and Middlesbrough into the fight: Leicester have won just one in 9 (against West Ham) and have lost their last 4 games without scoring while Middlesbrough have not won since mid-December gaining just 3 points in 7 games.

What does everyone think of Leicester and Middlesbrough going down? Will they pull through or is it a distinct possibility?

And converse.

Think we'll be fine now. Hull have done well since the new guy came in but there squad is pish. Big Sam hasn't had a great impact at Palace to put it mildly but he's made his name from coming out on top in relegation scraps. Sunderland have Defoe who will turn draws into wins, they've just gotta pray he stays fit. Boro are developing a nasty habit of not winning which has seen em dragged into trouble. Leicester's woes were predictable, refer you to August when I said the following
I'm gonna call it early, Leicester will be in the relegation mixer.

It's very difficult to predict. Hull, Palace & Boro would be my punt at this stage.

I didn't really know where else to post it, but Hughes is under serious pressure at Stoke. I was in his corner during their shit start but that squad should be doing better than they are, they aren't a side that should be getting trounced 4-0 before half-time.

Pulls has progressed WBA more in 2 years than Stoke have in 4 years, and they replaced him to 'kick on'

Tis certainly possible, although I'm still confident we'll be ok. Quite a spectacular collapse to our season though. 8th place and 3-0 up against Arsenal..since then it's been largely a disaster!

We've got some big 6 pointers before the season is out. It'll hang on those.

That Jack Wilshere has somewhat disappeared recently, drifting through games now the going has gotten tough. A player of his quality should be a leader for us, not shying away leaving lesser players around him to do all the work.

Guess Leicester will pick up form now...

TBH We will be fine but think it might be closer than the 10 points we are so far above the drop zone.

As per last season.

Hope you stay up but your form is alarmingly redolent of other sides who have plummeted from comfortable-looking positions. Shame Wilshere's faded a bit, hope he picks up again. Has he still not scored for you?

No not scored yet, just ht the woodwork more times than I could believe an individual player could. Although even that's dried up lately.

I'd be interested to see the stats on players hitting the post this season because it feels like Pogba must've broke some kind of record. I'm not sure how accurate that is but he seems to hit the post/bar a hell of a lot.

Interestingly enough United and Bournemouth at the the top of the table in this regard.
