Little bit of a free hit for us this one. Not even the most optimistic Tranmere fans expected us to be near the automatic spots.

For the playoffs we possibly only need one more win, whilst if that came against FGR on good Friday might be enough for top 5 on its own.

We didn’t play terribly at Newport, but didn’t have the same cutting edge we showed in previous games either.

The game down at Franchise was a decent football game, if not a bit cagey at times. Expecting something similar with a one goal swing either way.

Oldham and Newport did a great job limiting Norwoods chances by playing very deep in midfield to cut out though balls, it’ll be interesting whether MK take that approach too, a draw isn’t the worst result for them.

I`m waiting to see if that piece of rectum refuse Mitch Hancox has the balls to show his ferret like face at Prenton Park tomorrow. If he does he is in for a rough ride after his various Twitter posts regarding Rovers at the end of last season

As for the game I think that this is the last chance saloon for us if we are going to get automatic. Win and its game on especially given Bury`s problems . Anything less and its, hopefully, the Play Offs

Hancox I don’t think has played for us in any competition other than the checkatrade, so as funny as it would be I doubt he’ll be there.

As for the game as I said on the promotion thread, a point and I’m confident of automatics, lose and I can’t see anything other than play offs for us.

If we fail to win it’s very likely you’ll finish above us yes.

I’m just curious if you play the same deep line Oldham/Newport did how the game pans out. Can’t see us going gung ho if you do and it’ll end up a cagey game.

It interests me whether Rovers will play like they ended at Newport with 2 strikers, Dagnall joining Norwood, or in the formation we’ve usually started recently. Arguably there is a case for going a bit gung-ho, given winning this game puts us in a stronger position for the automatics, anything else and almost certainly the play-offs at best.

I still don't think playoffs are nailed on... with our run in, we could easily go on a winless run right until the end of the season.

Do you think you'll be offloading him in the summer then? If so we'll happily have him back. He's still a fans favourite on this side of Cheshire at least.

We always seem to lose this type of game against a promotion rivals. Macc last year, Lincoln and FGR the one before. Going back further there was a game against MK Dons at Prenton Park when we were top of league one and they were second and we lost 1-0. Be nice get some revenge for that one but I can’t see past another away win.

Deserved our point at stadium plastico and have a good home record against the better sides. Beat Lincoln, Exeter, Carlisle and the draw with Mansfield. We should go into this one full of confidence.

Hancox won't play. Hasn't made an appearance in any competition since November. Fairly sure he'll be released in the summer, especially if we're promoted.

As for the game, I'm not confident. Reckon a close game ending in a score draw, 2-2. As long as we don't lose, we'll still look fairly good for autos with four games left.

Piss take this ref.

Why was our first goal disallowed?
Why wasn’t the MK one?

Pick any of 4 handballs that should have been penalties including the one that broke number 24s fingers.

Norwood with a clear push for our disallowed goal. Need to see the Dons one again, but there were definitely one or two challenges to look at in there.

A breathless physical game against a strong, fast and niggly MK Dons side. There'll be a few bruises tomorrow I think. Either team could be in front, although I think we just shaded it - were it not for a few fingertip saves from their keeper (and defenders!) we could well have had the edge.

Interesting to see how the second hand pans out... surely this pace and physicality will see both teams tire later on.

The Norwood push was the same as Agard on Ellis. Can’t cancel ours out and not theirs.

Been surprised how physical MK have been. Dislike Hesketh flinging himself to the ground at the slightest touch.
Would like to see our disallowed goal and their allowed goal again before passing comment. Felt only one of the penalty shouts looked close, but the referee has been very inconsistent. Losing Perkins a major blow. Not at all confident for second half

Valiant effort from Franchise 12 men but too much quality and desire from Rovers today.

Get in there Rovers!!! Great hard-fought win against a very physical Dons side, and we definitely picked up a few knocks in that one. Worried about Nors, who was limping for a good proportion of the game. That's for tomorrow, today is for celebrating!

Massive win, professional job to see the game out for the last 20, where the Tranmere of yesteryear would have sat back and invited the pressure

We just aren't anywhere near the level we were in the first half of the season and a lot of that is down to injuries to key players.

We're now without Moore-Taylor, Walsh, Williams, Cargill and Gilbey - all of whom would be guaranteed starters, and all of them barring Gilbey are defenders. Literally only one recognised experienced CB available for us (Russell Martin).

Massive win that keeps the dream alive. Feared the worst when midfield playmaker Perkins went off injured, but full credit to Tranmere for their 2nd half performance. I thought James Norwood put in a motm performance despite not scoring, really caused a nuisance all afternoon.
Very pleasing to see 8000 home fans in Prenton Park too.
Bring on FGR!

I thought Norwood was outstanding and it was between him and Ben Pringle for man of the match. That was the best game Pringle has played for us, and his spell out of the side seems to have done him good.

However, I thought a lot of the unsung players were excellent today. Morris, Ridehalgh and Harris were all really good.

MK played some good football in the first half but seemed to run out of ideas after half time, and their substitutions made them worse, not better.

Yes can’t fault any of the 2nd half performances, thought Pringle gave the ball away too easily in the 1st half though and was lucky to come out for the 2nd half.

You and ourselves seem to have had similar issues this season...Looked good for promotion then injuries have hit and both are stumbling over the line a bit. I can see the last game of the season being a bit of a damb squib watching Tranmere and Bury get promoted at this rate.

Feels a bit like that. I can accept Bury going up in second, but that third place spot seems to have been reserved for either us or you guys for months, so to see Tranmere sneak in would be a real gut punch.

Not that they wouldn't deserve it (they have the top scorer in the league), just that it would mean both Mansfield and us had really fucked up to allow that last game of the season to be nothing more than a decider for 4th or 5th. We've dropped something like 20 points from winning positions this season, we should have had autos wrapped up by now.

Having seen highlights, backs up what I thought real time. No difference between Norwoods "push" on the Franchise left back for our disallowed goal and Agards push on Ellis. Fortunately it probably won't cost us anything.
