Very excited for Brady in the Prem, he's still young and would be great to see him develop more.

I wouldn't worry, with the money we've been making these last two windows, I feel we're saving up to pillage half the Dortmund squad in the summer.
Somehow I doubt we will even see half the money we've made last two windows. Anyways, expensive player does not always mean a good fit for the team. Just look at Pogba :gr:

Although I think Griezmann would be great for any top teams in the world.

Looks like we're signing a centre-back! Former Barcelona and Juventus legend Martin Caceres.

Hasn't been with a club since June, but I'd take anything right now.

Pay as you play? Cos his injury record is awful and the only real reason nobody took him for nothing in the summer.

Tbf even injured he's probably still better than Gardos. Stephens could be good, if he was playing alongside VVD.

From our local paper:

Understand #afcb were offered Cáceres and Fonte on £90k a week and Jagielka on £70k. Would have bust the dressing room.

Pride comes before a fall. Unfortunately not already against Leverkusen in the CL :(

Liverpool Target Dahoud will be moving to Dortmund in the summer. 10 million. Steal.

We always seem to fuck these things up.

He won't get one. A mill a week in China is the way to go.

I didn't think Jose would have the bollocks to handle Rooney the way he has but he has played it absolutely perfectly.

This is what I was hoping Van Gaal would do.

I thought van Gaal handled it pretty well given who else he had available to play upfront. Easier to drop Rooney when you've got Zlatan in your ranks.

Van Gaal was the first to reduce Rooney's status with the bench time and fairweather attempts to give him a chance in midfield, and Mourinho completed the job.

And Pogba and Mkhitaryan to make sure he doesn't slip into the number ten position too.

From what I knew of Van Gaal's methods before he joined I expected him to rule with an iron fist and I was pretty shocked to hear him say "my captain shall always play" when his captain at the time was playing like a drunk baboon.

Jose has been much more ruthless.

I'd agree with that in many regards.

I think the media circus (surrounding the club in general + the magnifying lense through which Rooney's footballing decline & status were being viewed) made it more of a hostile environment to omit Rooney with immediate effect. LVG's approach to the game was also initially very alien to our group of players and probably felt he needed the support of a strong/respected dressing room figure; and bought it via guarantees in over Rooney's position in the team.

Managing Rooney's exit [out of first XI] had to be delicately implemented. Jose has been very clever about it all by shaping expectations from his early pressers, then handed Rooney some rope to hang himself with by 'giving him opportunities' - and now with the 'little lies' over his fitness.

This is the ruthlessness I was referring to, or at least part of it. He's handled it perfectly. The Machiavellian bastard.

Yes but Arsenal had much more potential than we did at the time and we haven't exactly been flying since he joined Arsenal, either.

Like winning a cup?
With the team built around him he'd have won more than a couple of FA Cups thats for sure. We'll never know of course, but a world class player like him certainly would've improved Liverpool immensely.

You did that with Suarez and won one League Cup.
