It's also reported in some red tops that PSG have offered £119mill for Mbappe! And although I think both are unlikely this would obviously make Liverpools bid look shit.

Thinking about it you would actually be quite a good stepping-stone to Real Madrid in terms of a guaranteed starting place at a big club in the Champions League (something Arsenal can't offer), assuming you get past the qualifier. You'd probably offer him four or five times his reported wage, too.

Still implausible, though!
Mate a few years ago we signed Paul Konchesky, Charlie Adam and Andy Carroll. To be linked with players like Aubemayang and Mbappe is much more like it. Klopp is raising the standards and thats never a bad idea.

Apparently Man City want to insert a buyback of £35mill in any Iheanacho deal.
Fuck that.

Arsenal in for Lacazette, hope Liverpool swoop in. Hopefully having Champions League footsphere would persuade him to tell Arsene and his lot to feck awf.

Reports tonight that we've made a bid for Fabinho. Really hope this one happens, could potentially be our signing of the summer in terms of the freedom he could give our more creative players.

For the same reason I'd still be very happy if we ended up with Matic but Fabinho would be perfect.

Seems like Chelsea are back in the VvD transfer saga.

I'm looking forward to booing him at St. Mary's next season.

From what I've read, only Real, ourselves and Arsenal have claimed an interest which is understandable given that he'd cost 150M€ easily.
RM have the upper hand as it's Mbappé's boyhood club, he was a big fan of Zidane growing up (photos of both of them at Clairefontaine during France 98) and his current favourite player is CR7. He has reportedly had a meeting with Zidane and Pérez (RM's reelected president) saying that Bale would be sold to make space for him (makes sense really, Bale's influence has decreased and he looks like he could use a change of scenery).
Since Mbappé is from Bondy - a rough Parisian suburb, asbolute dump - he wouldn't mind playing for PSG. Of course, we're not that great at giving youth its chance ourselves. Will Cavani make way for him and return on the left wing? Doubt it.
Finally, Arsène Wenger has reportedly given him a career plan but Arsenal look like the most unlikely destination.

I think it's between these 3 (to me, he's already a RM player). Wouldn't take any links to Liverpool too seriously. He has no reason to sign there and they have nothing to offer him the other 3 can't (except for Arsenal and the CL factor).

Whoever he signs for, I sincerely hope he will be loaned back to Monaco for the coming season. His presence in Russia is pretty much confirmed if he stays and excels at Monaco. Changing clubs just before a World Cup season is a bad idea especially at such a young age.

Arsenal in for Lacazette, hope Liverpool swoop in. Hopefully having Champions League footsphere would persuade him to tell Arsene and his lot to feck awf.
I'm very surprised that Arsenal are the only ones going in for him. Lacazette is a world-class striker who nobody wants apart from Atletico (who have a transfer embargo until January 2018) and Wenger. Lyon wouldn't mind a Giroud swap + cash but the frog doesn't want to go back to Ligue 1.
Signing Lacazette would send a strong message imo. Also, Lacazette wouldn't mind not playing CL football this season (Lyon aren't in it either) as his international career hasn't kicked off yet (my guess is it won't what with Mbappé coming in and all).

Yes. Haven't seen anything official but the wheels look to be in motion. However, Tiémoue Bakayoko - Fabinho's midfield partner - is set to join Chelsea any day now and Monaco will ask for a lot of cash for the 2nd player to be sold (if they indeed decide to sell both (which they really shouldn't) that is).

Surely Lacazette would want to make his mark in CL after seeing the rise of Mbappe. No guarantee Arsenal will make CL next season either with the future of Sanchez still up in the air.

It would just be weird if he chose us to be fair. Plus we got Salah now!

Arsenal are ready to sell Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool, reports the Independent.

Would you actually be disappointed with that? He seems like he would slot into a Klopp system with ease to me.

It's too much money for someone who won't really be an upgrade. And his numbers aren't very good are they.

I'm not sure what to make of Ox really. Certainly can look quite talented, but rarely amounts to anything positive happening like goals or assists.

I thought he looked quite good in the wing back role and I suspect that this is because it forced him to stay out wide. He looks at his worse when he comes central, so it's a shame that he seems drawn there so often.

I think he'd be better suited to a team that will guarentee him a starting spot. That's not Arsenal or Liverpool.

Reports in various places including the local press about Ake being close to a move here.

Chelsea have felt confident enough in signing a defender themselves, that they've agreed a 20m deal with us and let us talk terms with Ake. Everything's apparently in place for it complete in July.

Ake is raw and rough around the edges, but I'd be delighted, even at that price. He has a bit of everything in his locker. And although I'm not entirely sure what his best position is, there's no doubt he's got a long career at the highest level ahead of him. And probably plenty of Dutch caps too. When a player of his ability and potential wants to (re)join a club like us, we can't say no. Even if we have to find somewhere to crowbar him in! Give it 2-3 years of development here, and he'll be sold back to a top 6 club IMO.

Arsenal ruined Ox by thinking he was a central midfielder. Reckon he could be a very good backup option to Mane if signed.

He bolsters out the squad hugely if he were to sign. He won't be a starter but he can play in a variety of positions when there are injuries. It's better than signing two or three cover players or fleshing out the side with too much youth in big games. It makes sense to me and he has room to improve.

Matic is older and when I've watched Chelsea this season I haven't really noticed him much. I'd rather have Fabinho.

So would I, but Matic is still great - he just doesn't suit Conte's current 3-4-3 system which is better suited to a couple of box to box midfielders or a box to box midfielder and a playmaker rather than a proper sitting, defensive midfielder like Matic.

I agree, but I think it depends on what formation we play him in.

As always, it depends which numbers you're looking at. Squawka tweeted a stat about him having the highest assist per 90 minutes for Arsenal last season. He has rather patchy form admittedly, but I think he can be brilliant on his day and still has potential to get better.

I don't know what the fee is being reported as, but transfer fees are increasingly less relevant as almost any PL club will be virtually swimming in cash these days.

I like him, and he's only 23 so it'd be daft to sell imo. Definitely a confidence player though.

Absolutely loving this Matic development. He had a down year a couple of seasons ago and was overshadowed by the relentless Kanté last season, but he's still one of the best defensive midfielders in the league. He was outright one of the best players in the league during his first season back with Chelsea. Not that disappointed they didn't go for Fabinho, an unproven commodity in a wonderful side. Matic + Herrera isn't much less formidable to get through than Matic + Kante, I'd expect United to have the best defence in the league next season if this is confirmed. Mourinho-ball has well and truly arrived.

Herrera is a good central midfielder, Kanté is the best ball winner in the league by a country mile. Sorry, but the distance between Herrera and Kanté is huge, especially defensively. Herrera is a good central midfielder and criminally underrated by many but he's nowhere near Kanté. Which is more of a compliment to Kanté than anything else.
