With all due respect i’ll take the owner and managers word over somebody on a forum. We lost our best right back this season to Southport because they offered more money, that’s a fact. If our budget is as great as you and other believe, why didn’t we offer more.

This is the article, he gets asked about Salford at the beginning

“Their financial backing and transfer ambitions will be far and away above the usual levels of this league.
“They will blow other clubs out of the water with what they can offer, but that doesn’t always guarantee success.
“No one would have thought Hartlepool would have struggled this year with their budget, similarly with Leyton Orient.
“On the other hand, Macclesfield managed to win the league on a shoestring, while Ebbsfleet, Boreham Wood and ourselves managed to make the play-offs with budgets at the lower end of the scale.
“Our budget will probably be below halfway in the league compared to the rest, but we still have an opportunity to compete.”
Well by his own admission, he seems to be suggesting that Fylde's budget is in the same ballpark as Boreham Wood and Ebbsfleet - who have plenty of cash...

EVERY chairman says they're spending less than they are - Dale whatshisname used to say it at FGR, and they were paying Liam Noble £3k a week!

Don't be so naive.

Aye, it's gonna be solid competing with 24 teams who have a bottom half budget.

None intended.

Our released list out either tomorrow or Monday and have been told 2 are headed Wrexham. Expect one is Mangan.
Fitness is an issue with Welsh these days but should cope with the physical demands of League Two a bit better where the pace is slower. He won't lose his reading of the game, leadership qualities or ability to absolutely bulldoze someone.

Love the guy.

We don’t need legs, just a bit of quality to control the game tempo which from memory he had.

Not a fan of John Welsh, he went missing far too often when he last played for us. While I have some reservations about Ollie Banks, think he’d do a better job.

Andy Mangan was good during his first spell at Rovers, but fell out with Brabin and went to Shrewsbury where initially he did quite well. His return disappointing from the scoring angle, but creatively he’s helped us get the extra points to finish second. Also a team player in the sense of boosting morale. Still capable at this level if you don’t expect a bagful of goals from him.

So far today I've been told by various people coming into work that we are trying to sign
Oswell from Stockport, Johnson for Gateshead and Mangan is coming on a free

Can't see anything in the Johnson one personally, Mangan is probably going to be let go from Tranmere so definitely possible but don't think he would justify the wages he would probably take.
Oswell most likely out of the 3 but can't see that either as he isn't keen on going full time

From what I've heard, we're finally bringing Luke Coddington back. Can any Guiseley fans shed light on what went so wrong for him there? He looked class when on loan here.
He just didn't seem interested in giving his all for us. My impression was he thought he was far too good to be slumming it in the relegation spots but he never put the effort in to show that. I'm baffled as to why he agreed to come on loan if that was the case.
In summary, a poor attitude.

Still a load of bull?

One thing darksithlord knows is a good non league rumour
We've already confirmed that we have 4 CBs for next season in our retained list. Unless any leave, I can't see us signing another CB.

We're in the market for a striker and central midfielder and that will be our business!

That is going to be your standard quote for every player that you sign in the first transfer window post relegation, welcome to non league!
Wrexham fans will know, how many years down here does it take to have heard of any of the players who play at this level? I went to most home games last season and 4 away ones and if I didn't post on here I'd hardly know any of them.
