I've heard a whisper that we're trying to re-sign Jay Simpson, not sure how close it is to being done, but we've been negotiating for weeks apparently.

Not sure how accurate this is but its what I was told today.

Its been very under the Radar, but there's a reason he's been at two of our home games in recent weeks.

We hope it will happen, but of course just because we might be negotiating, doesn't mean it will happen, if he gets a better offer elsewhere from a league club he will go there for sure, so he may be biding his time if this is all true innit.

Why are Salford buying a ridiculous amount of strikers/forwards? That’s about 5 who would be first teamers in any other team (bar Orient perhaps with their anomalous strike force) now. Ridiculous - they really should be flying through this league this season.

All the Vale fans on L2 forum said he actually was in the pub at 2.30 after finding out he wasn't in the match day squad.
Not surprised :)

another titbit from our forum
So although disappointing and to,put an end to the thread Jim confirmed in the centre spot after the game that yes we want Ricky and yes Ricky wants to come here but Port Vale want 75k and that just ain’t going to happen end of ! Plus his weekly wages just out of our reach

A few rumours today that Jay Simpson has been given till early Jan to decide whether or not to join us.

We're also apparently trying to buy Corey Whitely from Ebbsfleet but cannot agree a fee with Ebbsfleet.

Whitely is a very good player. Top signing for anyone in this league.

The transfers next month are going to be huge for the title race. We need to keep what we've got and get a top striker in. I think we'll Go For It™ to finally try and escape this hell. We are very well run and we've got the cash these days.

Carlisle striker Richie Bennett looks like he'll be going out on loan to a non-league side. A good target man for this level, but may even drop back to Conference North if a club can afford his wages.

Having played under Gannon at Northwich I’m sure we would be very interested but I can see a National League side picking him up.

Been told we're also looking at Jordan Maguire-Drew as well, he fits the sort of player we're aiming for. Young with potential and has experience of this level.

Not sure if its for a pernament deal or a loan, don't think he's settled since leaving Dagenham.

Rumour that he's going to sign a 2.5 year contract with someone that's why loan has been terminated. Either you or Dagenham would be my guess.

I would see him as the complete opposite of an Edinburgh player to be honest. Lightweight, generally unfit, zero work-rate and plays in flashes (albeit is capable of genius moments). He's got proper talent but maybe he only plays well down south. I'd reckon both Brophy and Dayton are better than him.

A few people on our forum have also mentioned a potential 2.5 year deal for him, so I reckon that this could happen.

As you say, he can probably only play well down South.........

Dayton and Brophy are probably better at the moment, but Edinburgh has improved alot of our players in the last 12 months - Josh Koroma being one of them who is only 20.

A potential signing for us was mentioned for tomorrow, but we shall see.

Walker is definitely being offloaded to Wrexham or any other side that can afford his stupid wages that he barely deserved. Artell dropped a huge bollock with that signing.

Not good enough for us even though some of our ridiculous fans mysteriously rate him. Our fans did the same with Chris Atkinson who went from League One reserve player to the eighth tier with Farsley in 6 months. They seem to think a player exiled from the side makes them automatically good when they can't even get into a side that loses games.

I can't wait to see the back of him as he's not good enough for the league and the Hartlepool fans were right the moment we signed him. Thankfully we're signing a replacement for him and then I assume we'll make Walker's departure permanent.

He's been doing alright for Wrexham from what I can gather on here, they seem pretty happy with him so far, the kid is talented, I've seen him play often enough for Pools to know that, but I've also seen the Brad Walker who is just a body in a shirt, can't tackle, no pace, just a big stiff body watching the game pass him by.

I actually do hope he cracks it and becomes a success higher up the leagues but I don't see it.
